I'm starting to delve now into the world of turntables and hifi, and I have a few questions, just to see if I'm going through the right path:

1) I'm considering buying, for starters, something slightly better than a real beginner turntable. Needless to say that i'm out of the Crosley/Victrola ones, i was thinking about:

\- RT80

\- Something used from the 80's or 90's, perhaps one of the licensed Garrards that Gradiente made in Brazil back then.

2) Should I go for a receiver right now or is it something I can leave for later? I plan to buy one anyway since I still enjoy listening to radio and attaching my TV Box in order to, perhaps, subscribing to Tidal.

Beginner+ turntable alternatives

 Unlike most of our other units, the C10 is a component piece, so you're going to need a couple other things to get started. You're definitely going to need a preamp and a pair of speakers, and if those speakers aren't self-powered, you're also going to need a power amp as well. Now that you're all set up, simply flip the switch and enjoy your favorite record on the Crosley C10.

 It has a lot of heft to it, and that plus the Pro-ject tone arm were the main reasons I wanted to go with a more solid entry into turntables than the little suitcase jobs at the mall. I followed the directions for set up, and watched a couple of videos for reference, and started listening. I had so much fun listening to Purple Rain and Synchronicity. Then I put Disintegration on the platter, and my hand bumped the tone arm

Pro Ject Debut III for under $300!

 This is Recordology. Okay, and here it is, the Crosley C-10. As of the publication date of this video, this is their best of the best. This is the best that they have to offer, just like all other Crosleys and Audio-Technica units

 Okay, so we are unboxing it. And by the way, trying to find an analog as to what Project model this is, the closest I can find is a Project Debut Carbon, although this unit that we're looking at right here has an aluminum tonearm and not the carbon fiber tonearm. It's still awesome, it's still going to work just as good, it's just not going to be made of carbon fiber. And I think that's really the only difference

So, first thing, balance the tonearm, then we're going to go ahead, put it back in the rest, and then we're going to take that scale, just the front piece, that little plastic front edge, and we're going to reset it to zero, since we know what zero is, our floating point, then we're going to apply that 17.5mn of down pressure

 I had to call the manufacturer and get them to ship me one. This took about 10 days to receive. But the thing plays great. Sound is awesome

Great Turntable.

 Quiet musical passages and silence in between tracks is. well, pretty silent,dark (what is known in audio hi-fi lingo as "black background"). Motor noise, vibration is practically non-existent.

Again, speed accuracy passed admirably ("normal" is the word, in simplest terms, I will use to describe its speed accuracy). Tonearm and supplied Ortofon OM5e cartridge (a cartridge that when sold separately is just under the $100 mark) do a remarkable and synergistic job of just letting the music flow. There is no sibilance (harsh pronunciation of the letter "s" on vocals, "etched" or tinny sounding cymbals). No inner groove distortion (IGD) whatsoever; The last track plays just as clear and sonically pleasing as the first track

 I tested the C10 against my Technics 1200 MK2 and speed and pitch mimic that of the 1200. I also tested speed with a vinyl copy of an Alan Parsons Project vinyl record against (same album title) on cd..

 Highs are detailed without any risk of becoming ear and mind fatigued. Great stereo imaging (wider stage when compared to a Grado cartridge I am using on another turntable).   It is a full manual so be prepared for that. No auto stop or start. Setup was a bit fiddly but instructions were clear. You also have to remove the platter to change speeds

.but this one has solid sound.  I recently played a brand new 180g record. The Police Ghost in the Machine it sounds stellar
