 So here's a tip, go ahead and set the same device or same network name and the same password that was on your previous device or Wi-Fi router. So for example, if you had your network named home sweet home and the password was password 123, keep the same password and the same network. This way you don't have to change all your cameras, your computers and everything. Everything is just connected again to that device, which was really neat

Amazon's Eero 6 pro mesh wifi system has been flawless for me. Have 7 set up throughout my house, connections never drop.

I’m looking at upgrading my old wifi router to a new mesh system, I was going to get a Linksys velop AX4200 because I’m told it works well with HomeKit but unfortunately they are out of stock not available in Australia until December so instead I’m looking at the eero pro 6 wifi mesh router.
I’m looking for recommendations/ advice, is the eero pro6 any good? Should I wait for the velop to come back in stock or any other brands that are just as good?

Much Improved over Eero Pro, with Some Flaws

 You're not bombarded with too much information, which in my opinion is how it should be. At the top, you'll see if you're connected to the internet or not, how many routers are in your system as well as their location. From there, you have profiles. These allow you to assign specific devices on your network to a specific person like your kids, for example

 And one of the benefits of this router is you can mesh multiple ones together and importantly, the Eero Pro 6 uses tri-band technology which reserves a dedicated band just for communication between the mesh routers, which will improve the speeds you get from the satellite routers as well as the overall reliability of the system. The routers themselves are pretty small as far as routers go and they aren't nearly as tall as something like a Netgear Orbi and unlike the Orbi, unfortunately, the Eero Pro 6 routers only come with one additional wired ethernet port, meaning if you want to plug in a bunch of stuff into it through a wired connection, you're going to need to get an internet switch. There's only one LED on the router that you can turn on or off in settings and that'll tell you the status of your network like if it's down or if everything is looking good. When you first open the app, you'll notice that it's very bare bones and simple

 The Eero Pro 6 retails for $599 here in the US for a 3-pack and $229 for a single router. This is by no means an inexpensive router, but it does compete closely in pricing to other routers in this class like the Netgear Orbi. Now in terms of performance over the past six months, this Wi-Fi router system has worked flawlessly. I've had no network performance issues or Wi-Fi dropouts and download speeds have been very fast over Wi-Fi, especially to my Wi-Fi 6 devices

Then I started getting into HomeKit scenes and automations, added 6 to 8 Meross smart plugs to the mix, etc. Hue hub is maxed, or right at max capacity. Meross plugs constantly disappear from the network, randomly tun off and on, cause scenes to fail (I suspect). My old Google WiFi doesn’t allow me to specify a ghz band, it just tries to figure out what a device needs, so adding 2.4 ghz only devices is failure prone and as I mentioned above, very unreliable. Should I just recycle the Meross gear and go for something better, or will a more modern Wifi mesh setup magically solve my problems, do you think?

Convince that buying a new mesh WiFi system will solve my HomeKit grief

4 GHz getting disconnected or not connecting with eero. It has not been my case, and I have Wi-Fi cameras, phones, and tables on 2.4GHz working without any issues.  * Redundancy! When one of the two "satellite" routers goes offline, the other two still active (main and satellite) manage to reconnect the devices to the network immediately

 However, not having the chance to schedule when the router LED Light turns on and off is sometimes annoying. If you have one of these in your bedroom and the LED botters you to get asleep, you need to turn it off manually every time.  * For some reason, and with some mobile devices, the most proximate eero is NOT selected to establish the connection. I have turned off/on a device that, by proximity, should connect to the eero in the living room

  PROS =====  * Finally, a very stable Wi-Fi coverage from my home office! I am getting up to 90% of the available bandwidth provided by the ISP while connected to the satellite routers. I am impressed with that!  * No more blind spots!!! I have been streaming videos on my phone while walking across the house, and it was a breeze; no lags or buffering at all! Even from areas where I had given up like the garage or the backyard deck -remember the walls of concrete blocks barriers :)-  * Seamlessly connection of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz devices. I mention this because I have read other reviews saying something about legacy devices that operate only at 2

 Although it comes with a hefty price tag, it has worth the investment. So far, the "Never worry about Wi-Fi again" that eero claims are a reality. Since day one, the whole system has been up and running without any hiccups or manual reset required (which was usual with my previous Wi-Fi routers).  === Backround and context of my review === Before getting into the details, just a caveat before continuing

Finally, a seamless and stable Wi-Fi experience across all the house!

 With the Pixel 5, which is the Wi-Fi 5 device, I got 461 down and 345 up. So now getting into the local area speedtest server, that's when I take away my internet service provider and the public speedtest server, and I'm really just isolating the router itself. And the reason for that is because my internet service provider is not always going to give me the speeds that they're advertising. And the public speedtest server is being requested, is actually being used by a lot of people or companies, pretty much can be at the same time as well

 Hey, what's up guys? This is the Eero Pro 6 and I'm going to do a long-term review on this. I've had it for over a year and I've been using it on and off for about four months or so. The reason for that is because I'm continuously testing different mesh Wi-Fi's and routers. So the Eero Pro 6 is a tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6 system

 So but if you wanted to get that, they do offer that on this. What do I think about this system? Well, I honestly really like the Eero Pro 6. In the four months, four or so months that I've used it, it's always been a solid choice. I've never had an issue, it automatically updates

 Over here, I get much more range because there's a lot less interference. So if you're in a place on multiple floors, if you have basements, if you have thick walls, or if you're in a building with other routers around and stuff, all of that stuff is going to hurt your range. So in my case, 20 feet away, I'm still inside my place and I get very good speeds. At 50 feet, I go outside of my place and there are some stuck walls and stuff

I’ve had an Eero Pro 6 since they came out and have had no issues with HomeKit. They are fully supported with the HomeKit firewall capability that Apple added.

Excellent performance but just shy of perfect

I had the 2013 Time Capsule up until the Eero Pro 6 came out. Still the most stable WiFi experience I’ve had.

After 10+ years of using AirPort Extreme and Express, I finally gave hope of Apple reentering the market and switched to more modern WiFi. Every HomeKit post about unresponsive HomePods, confused Siri, slow lights, broken automations is answered with “did you check your WiFi?”

Guess they were right. So far so good, fingers crossed!

<p>I went with Netgear Orbi WiFi 6 mesh AX4200 since I didn’t want either Google or Amazon up in my business. Actually purchased the dual band, but returned it unopened for the tri band setup. 10x improvement on AppleTV and 700mbs wireless, wound up skipping the ethernet drop to the iMac.</p>

<p>I held out for years since the Airport setup was ‘fine’. What changed since 2010 is my expectations: forty or so HomeKit devices, 4K streaming, video calls, HomePod. None of that existed ten years back, so shout out to the Airport for ticking away untouched in a dusty corner. I was dreading setting my home up again, but reused same SSID and PW and was up and running in no time. </p>

<p>So for anyone else sitting in the fence thinking ‘fine’ is fine, take the plunge!</p>
