 The right ear cup features a volume wheel that's always convenient and something every gaming headset should incorporate. It does connect through a standard mic and headphone jack with a 3 meter braided cable. So I've mentioned this has an open style headset and if you care about directionality and soundstage in game this is certainly the way to go. The velvet ear cups combined with the open design means you never sweat and I mean after 5 hours of gaming you don't even need to vent your ears

This also means they are in no way isolating, you can pretty much hear everything that's going on around you and same goes for leaking sound. If you care about blasting your game without disturbing anyone consider the games Zero that are closed style

 Build quality is what you'd expect from Sennheiser, very sturdy yet flexible and of course size adjustable. The large boom mic is slightly flexible as well and is muted when in the upright position. I really would have loved the option to remove the microphone for me to use this as a stand alone headphone, but it's pretty clear why they kept it intact. If you want a Sennheiser headphone you'll have to get that separately

 If that's what you're after, open style may be not for you, but that's something I can sacrifice myself to get incredible immersive feeling for large soundstage in game, excellent positional awareness and with a little touch of EQ on the high end to get that extra sparkle. They are also really comfortable and most importantly let your ears breathe, plus the volume control on the right ear cup is super convenient. I think one of the cons though would be the color scheme, there is one of those either beloved or hated type of situations, it's personally not my style, but let us know how you feel about that. I also think we need to see a low profile microphone or even perhaps something durable as for $250 I would want to have that option to use it outside of the home

 The GAME ONEs tend to fit snugly against an average-sized head; the first "creaking" I heard was when putting them on, emanating from the centre of the top band. I dismissed it, as it happened only when taking them off or putting them on. Over time the situation amplified, coming from the "hinge points" where the headband intersects with the ear cups. A few months later, the cups themselves -- during normal use! -- began doing the same thing

 no excessive bass, no excessive filtering of treble).  Overall, these feel more like US$75 headphones. The US$170 price, with an MSRP of US$250, is no where near justified. The construction and component quality is just too low for the cost

 Unlike several other headsets, the GAME ONE mic should be placed about 1-2 inches from your mouth at a slight offset (e.g. somewhat near your chin), not alongside or in front of your lips. The microphone "arm" can be adjusted freely in all directions/angles (including slight twisting!) and actually stays put! This is in contrast to, say, the SteelSeries Arctic 3/5/7 where the mic won't stay put no matter what you do (and requires you put the mic very close to your mouth)

 But I suspect they'll last another 3-4 months before I have to do an RMA. RMAs take about 2-3 full weeks, with the owner having to pay shipping to send the product to Massachusetts (return shipping is free). The warranty period on the Sennheiser GAME ONEs is 2 years.  Major negatives aside, here are the positives:  The microphone is decent quality, though without a mixer device, tends to be extremely quiet, even at a recording level of 100

Favorite headset, hands-down.

  POSITIVES: Comfort! While you can't sleep with your head on its side, due to size, you can game/use them for 12hrs and literally fall asleep with them on and when you wake up another 6-8hrs later, you simply just take them off and go about your day. Not what I expected, but still worth EVERY penny

 It's about what you'd expect for a headset. Running it at 24bit 192Hz, the mic was enjoyable enough for everyone to hear me, without sounding like I was talking into a paper bag, or pillow. It's not a Blue Yeti, or Shure SM7B, but for a headset the mic was enjoyable enough for everyone listening to me.  Comfort: For a open back design these do run a little warm

  Music: While this is a nice headset, I found music wasn't as separated when compared to my headphones. I wouldn't recommend these for bass heads as is. You'll need to replace the earpads with leather ones to really bring out the bass with this headset. But if you're looking for a clean sound, that is neutral, you'll be happy with these

 I have a few Sennheiser headphones, HD650s, HD558, and AKG K7XX's. Is this comparable to those? No, I felt they lacked definition when compared. But that is not to say these are horrible. They still sound nice but I noticed a slight "buzzing" that became apparent at max volume

Great Headset

 When I first plugged in the headset it sounded pretty quiet, even with the volume turned up all the way on the headset and my computer when compared to my old one. My old headset being a USB headset it was fed plenty of power through the USB outlet and did all the mixing on it's own soundcard and software. With this headset you need to plug it into either your motherboard audio or into an Amp / DAC. Turns out my rear motherboard audio jacks aren't amplified like my front audio jack

 It has a very open sound given they are a open back headset. Everything is very neutral to my ear so I had to add a little bit of low end with an EQ. Everything sounds so tight and clean though and it's a joy to listen to music. For gaming the positional audio is very nice too

 If your motherboard doesn't have a built in headphone amplifier then you will need to invest in a usb power AMP for this headset to really shine. The motherboard I own is a Asrock Z97 Extreme 6 which has Purity sound 2 and supports headphones with an Impedance or OHM rating of up to 600 but only if I use the front audio jacks.  As far as comfort this headset is extremely light compared to my old one. Clamping force is somewhat tight but I have a rather large head and I'm sure they have a little bit of breaking in to do

 Being an open back headset it gives room for sound to move out and create a great soundstage for games. I play a ton of CS:GO At Global elite ranking and I have no issues hearing footsteps with this headset.  4/5 stars given you need a proper AMP to drive this headset to its potential. If you do not have one then you are better off looking into another headset if you cannot shell out the extra $75-$100 for an AMP for this one

I must say that the sound quality is awesome though but with a stipulation

Rated a zero for noise-cancellation as this is the 'open-backed' model from EPOS and does not feature active noise cancellation of any form. It is intended specifically so you can still hear your surroundings, and you can just fine assuming your volume is turned down. Would rate five-stars for its intended feature set if it were listed

 Currently driving it directly from my motherboard's back-panel speaker port and have not experienced any issues with sound quality from impedance; will be hooking up to an external DAC/amplifier soon to see if the experience can be improved any.

 Then a couple months pass and after falling 2 feet from my lap to a carpet, the mic broke off as seen in the picture. I tried to super glue it back on, and it worked for a while until the cable became frayed on the inside and the mic stopped working altogether.  I say this as a warning to those who are looking at this headset, DO NOT BUY.

  On my first pair, right from the box, the mic would have an annoying screeching sound in the background every time i talked. I sent a complaint and got a replacement, but the second one was EVEN WORSE with the same sound. So I gave up and just tried to suppress my background sound.  It works well enough, but the mic is extremely sensitive and can pick up a sound from across the room, which means it ends up really loud when you’re close to it

You would think that Sennheiser makes quality products, but this headset one was one of the worst i’ve had. First off, the sound is great, open-back design means that the sound leaks through, so be wary. But everything else was subpar to downright terrible. It’s comfortable enough, but gets dirty and the build quality is not that good
