When it comes to the brightness level, this is able to get super bright in dark areas, and it actually gets pretty bright whether you have the light turned on or if a window is open or something like that, you can still see the picture. We're talking about 1,000 lumens of brightness here, and of course, just like every other projector on the market, it's always best to have a dark room when you're using a projector, but it is nice that you can still use this projector even if the blinds are up or if you turn the light on

The only concern is laser projectors are a no-brainer for a portable solution. Better image, brighter, much more power-efficient so better battery life, produces less heat so less noise. I'm thinking of waiting out until portable laser projectors become available. How long would that take?

Should I wait for Portable Laser Projecters?

Horrendous 120ms input lag. Not for gaming.

 But again, I still would like it to be a little bit brighter when the lights are on and it's a bright environment. It does lose some of that color quality and the brightness of the video. So don't expect this to be like a true champion, like a TV would be in that regard. Another thing that's a little bit difficult about this is that you have to find a location in your house where you can display it

 I think video is perfectly fine, but video games, I still would like to be a little bit brighter. It's definitely passable and you can see what's going on. Wall to be projected onto is 85 inches high (91" minus 6" for baseboards) by roughly 200" wide.  projector will be sat on shelf above sitting area that already has power and coax run (was a tv mount here before).  looking for advice on short throw projectors with the largest image diagonal at 8 feet.  current front runner is the Optoma GT1080HDR which claims 120" at 4 feet.  budget is humble; maybe 1500 if I really stretch for projector, sound, and screen.  will use for movies mostly, and possibly gaming via gaming PC.  what thoughts or suggestions?

XGIMI MoGo Pro vs Epson Mini EF12?

Hey all, I'm looking to buy a projector and cannot be more overwhelmed with all the choices.

For my use case, I will be using this in my bedroom which is fairly bright during the day. Primarily, I do all of my gaming, watching, etc on my computer monitor but would like a bigger screen for binging shows. I want something a bit more flexible than a television - watch on different walls, bring to another room, watch on the ceiling (this is a big one) - and so I'm attracted to the idea of getting a projector.

I've been looking at all price ranges but ultimately want to purchase something under $700 as this is my first projector. However, I have been looking at the Xgimi Horizon ($999/$1699) because of all the coverage it has on youtube. Part of me wants to purchase that and be done with it, but at that price range I could just purchase an OLED plenty large for my bedroom but I lose out on the flexibility.

Does anyone have any advice?

<p>- White walls in bedroom</p>

<p>- One window but large and the curtain doesnt block much light, however I can get a blackout curtain if its really an issue</p>

<p>- Will be &lt;10ft from the walls when watching</p>

<p>- Anything screen size larger than 40&quot; should be plenty for my use case</p>
