Solid motor but terrible ergonomics

Please help! What’s the best espresso set up for less than $1000. I’m a beginner and the main thing will be making cappuccinos or lattes.

Warning this is finicky (notte)

\- Always drank espresso as my caffeine of choice, my previous machine being a Lavazza Espresso Point capsule machine. I sought to replicate my Neapolitan bar experiences and knew I wouldnt get it from capsules, so got a BBE about 6 months ago. 

\-Ive experimented with various beans, and I'm perfectly happy with the product I've been able to produce from Caffe Borbone beans and my BBE (With the exception of the poor grinder). 

\-I've now decided to replace my work espresso machine (another espresso point) with my BBE, and get myself a better setup for home.

So I'm looking to buy a new machine and grinder for home. I'd like to keep the price tag under $1500 or so for the home machine. I could stretch it a little bit if I feel its worth it, I just want the best value for my money. I feel like my needs arent that deep.... 

Some insight into its use so that I can research machines further:

\- I make my espresso first thing in the morning before work, out of necessity, but being a lover of anything mechanical, I love the ritual of preparation as well. 

\- I don't ever make milk drinks for myself, strictly double espressos. (does this mean I don't need a double boiler machine?)

\- I'm usually pretty good at rigging up some sort of timer, so warm up time is not an issue for me. 

\- I do some entertaining, but never envision making more than 4-6 espressos.

\- Like I said, I love anything mechanical, love the ritual, and love machines that look like mechanical engineering feats. This is almost as important to me as functionality. For example, I love the look of an elektra manual level machine over a Decent. (classic Ferrari over a Tesla)... I don't like the boxy machines, but more of the Rocket, Lelit Bianca type look.

Given my needs above, what kind of machine would I actually notice the upgraded equipment? And what will improve? I do want a prettier machine, so thats enough of a factor for me. But will I notice more consistent extraction, etc?

\*Another note, im willing to buy a used machine, but Doesnt seem like too much is available out there.

help me pick out a machine for JUST espresso

 ::::: END UPDATE :::::::  So due to these gripes, I give the machine four stars. If you aren't too OCD about the mess and trapped grounds after each use, you'll be happy with the machine because the complaints are mostly mitigated by other features and/or the incredible price point. And the stepless grind adjustment makes this is an ideal entry level machine with lots of room to grow for someone really interested in learning to dial in shots. This machine is a great value
