 If you look at the range of the Fluence turntables, we'll see six turntables in total. And if you count down from the most expensive model, that's the RT85, the RT83 is number three in that particular list. It's priced around $350, with a very similar UK pound price point. So before I go any further, if you'd like to see the video on the RT81, then I'll put a little link up there, you can check that out

 Now if you change the speed on a Rega Plan 1, you're going to be changing the speed by changing the belt on a pulley, which for many people is just not good enough and is very primitive and awkward. The Fluence RT-83 makes changing speed a doddle. So what Fluence is doing here, it's presenting for a price £350, don't forget, it's giving you a broad, very nice vinyl experience. Very nice sound indeed, it's giving you strong bass, it's giving you pretty good dynamic reach and a pretty good treble as well

 So what are my concluding thoughts about the Fluence RT-83? Well this is not a specialist this is not a specialist audiophile turntable. That is, its priority is not sound and only sound. Sound quality is important, yes, but it's one of a range of features that the RT-83 gives you. It gives you a lifestyle experience

 So what Fluence is doing here, it's presenting for a price £350, don't forget, it's giving you a broad, very nice vinyl experience. Very nice sound indeed, it's giving you strong bass, it's giving you pretty good dynamic reach and a pretty good treble as well. Quite fragile actually in many respects. So when you start picking on the features of the Fluence RT-83, oh that's not good enough or I'd change that or I'd upgrade that, don't forget £350 here

 And thus, there is no upgrade path on the cartridge. So this is a dead end in terms of additions. Tonearms need to be more solid to hold up and avoid hum, and transmit the sound faithfully from the cartridge. And that this arm simply can’t do

 The Fluance has a good cartridge (the Ortofon 2M red is about $100), but it has a plastic tonearm: so any benefit you get from the cartridge/stylus is beside the point since the tonearm is (honestly) crap. It has a nifty bend in it, but it is not sturdy. And thus, there is no upgrade path on the cartridge. So this is a dead end in terms of additions

 Tonearms need to be more solid to hold up and avoid hum, and transmit the sound faithfully from the cartridge. And that this arm simply can’t do. That said, it’s adequate if you are not looking for an audiophile-grade TT. The plinth seems to be solid wood

Midrange turntable that’s great for beginners

 I watched some other YouTube videos about it and everything, and it was a really good price, so I grabbed this one. Now, Fluance does have their own that you can purchase, but it was a little more than this one. Since this had such good ratings, I went for it. So let's open this up

 There's nowhere to actually put this. Most record players, you know, have a little slot you can just set it on there. I don't see one with this one. That's okay, I'll just set it to the side for now

 Alright, let's put this bad boy together. Alright, I've got the platter here, and one thing I noticed is that the belt is already on it. So if you get this record player, don't go searching for it. It's right here

 Since this had such good ratings, I went for it. So let's open this up. So I'm happy with Record Player. They added in a ground cable so I can easily attach this

What's the best turntable you can buy under $430? Any suggestions?

 So if you're looking to get a quick setup that's cheap and you don't want to have a separate phono preamp, the 81 is probably a great turntable for you to look at and also comes with the 1895E cartridge. Now, if you want to get outside of the range of entry level, the 82 through the 85 have some great offerings. The main difference being the platter changes and the cartridges change. Each one of these turntables do come with a rubber slip mat, which is excellent

 It's my favorite choice. So your cartridge range is basically going to go from the Ortofon OM-10 to the 2M Red to the 2M Blue. And with the 85, you have a choice of doing the blue or you can do the MP-110 stylus. So it's kind of up to you when you get to the higher range of their turntable offerings of which cartridge you want to select

 Now, Fluance has a full line of turntables going from the RT-80 all the way up to the RT-85. What you get with the 80 and the 81 is a built-in phono preamp. So if you're looking to get a quick setup that's cheap and you don't want to have a separate phono preamp, the 81 is probably a great turntable for you to look at and also comes with the 1895E cartridge. Now, if you want to get outside of the range of entry level, the 82 through the 85 have some great offerings

 Why don't we start from the ground up? Starting at the bottom, it may be kind of hard to see on your screen because it's a little hidden, but they do have these awesome isolation feet. There's three of them and they're fully adjustable and they are audiophile grade. You never know what the surface is going to be or if the floor in your house is level. So having that adjustment is awesome

I'm currently going through the sweet, sweet process of driving myself bananas over researching turntable/speaker upgrades. 

For the turntable I've narrowed it down to the [Pro-Ject Debut III](https://www.londondrugs.com/pro-ject-debut-iii-manual-turntable/M0006387.html) or the [Fluance RT82](https://www.fluance.com/rt82w-reference-high-fidelity-vinyl-turntable-natural-walnut).

For the speakers I'm gonna pick up the [Fluance Ai60](https://www.fluance.com/powered-2-0-bluetooth-active-6-inch-bookshelf-speakers-white-walnut)'s. Yes, I've considered passive speakers and a receiver. No, I don't want to go that route.

My question is, what's a reasonably priced preamp that would work for this setup? I don't wanna spend all this money and botch a setup by picking a garbage one. Thanks in advance!

Phono Preamp Advice for Pro-Ject or Fluance?

 Comes with gloves so you dont muck anything up! All parts and connections felt secure and high-quality. The first plays were also impressive. Ortofon red is slightly crisper than the older 10m on my other TT and continues to provide enough detail to satisfy my modest audiophile needs. The auto-stop is a GREAT feature for a non-automatic TT and to my knowledge not very common among other products at similar price
