Installed Nest Thermostat after Google's OnTech failed

 It connected fine before. I did not modify the network and none of the other dozen smart devices have had any issues connecting. I have a dedicated 2.4GHz network

 Wait, what? No, it didn't drop below the safety temperature, at which point it would automatically kick on. I also adjust the temperature before going to bed. Shouldn't have to if this thing is smart right? Well, better safe than sweaty.  To get around some of these issues I've adjusted the schedule

 The thermostat should be smart enough to stay on if I manually set the temperature using the app less than 15m ago.  I've woken up in a sweat twice because the thermostat decided to turn on the heat in the middle of the night. Wait, what? No, it didn't drop below the safety temperature, at which point it would automatically kick on. I also adjust the temperature before going to bed

 Here's where the dealbreaker comes in. After using this for about a month, it randomly decided to disconnect itself from the network. Annoying but ok, I'll just add it back right? WRONG. When I first installed it, I was able to connect it by leveraging the settings from the already connected Nest Protect units

This cannot be a top rated thermostat. I'm baffled.

Lame.  Google is stating support for 5 years after launch.   So could drop support for the 3rd Gen Nest Learning Thermostat at any time since it came out in 2015.

I bought two Nest thermostats years ago when I got sick of having to trek upstairs to change the temperature. Our home has two zones for the two stories with a separate heat pump for each. Nest Thermostat Won’t Tell Boiler to Turn Off

 All can be resolved with programming. I call it my liberal thermostat because it thinks it knows whats best for me. Lennox has a smart themostat that is supposed to give you much more control to run your own life and turns your hvac on before you are standing in front of your thermostat wondering why its so freaking hot/cold.

 You can not program that out of the eco mode.  It uses your location to determine when to go into eco mode, so it shuts down when you're gone, GREAT! But when you come home you have to be practically standing on your thermostat. My shop is 20 feet from my house and when I go into one it shuts the other down.  I've resolved to keeping eco mode off, location off, and manually setting temperatures therefore using more power then I would if they would let me decide how I want to run my HVAC

 You are limited to the temperatures is deems "eco" worthy, when it decides to save you power it just likes to turn the unit off. Which living in the climate I do the house never recovers to a temperature remotely comfortable. You can not program that out of the eco mode.
