Grado SR80x

Detail overall is identical as far as I can perceive, I do not have the greatest A/B testing setup it takes 40 seconds about for me to pause music, pull the jacks from one headphone and swap to the other. But I can still hear things that I cannot with the Grado's and my previous headphones such as 600's and 598's.

I looked at online shops in my country and saw a fresh pair of SR80X, but I looked at my facebook marketplace in case someone is selling a hardly used pair, then I came aross these pair of Grados, I was attracted to the grille replacement and the detatchable cable mod so I said why not and bought them. Overall, mind blowing experience, the music coming out of these are phenomenal.

The lightweight nature of the headphone makes it the most comfortable in my collection for long use, not to mention very low power requirements (sound great on generic dongle dac). So its the standard SR80X experience with a much heftier price tag, but in mu opinion worth it.

Musical and fun are kind of what they're known for. While it's evident you aren't averse to spending money on headphones, you could get the new SR80X for a hundred bucks, which isn't much of a gamble to see if you like the Grado sound. And if you do, Grado has a headphone for you no matter what your budget, realistically. And they're made in Brooklyn, which is a bonus.

Now coming from a JBL Bluetooth Headphone, to SHP9500, Grado SR80x, now the HE400se, and considering how the last 3 headphones can be compared to higher priced ones according to known reviewers, all I can opine is that the biggest difference between headphones are technical performance. If you want a more resolving sound, or more clarity, or a wider soundstage, or want to go deep into the sub bass, or you want more dynamic, go higher in the price range. But no matter how high you go, I think, your song would just sound the same. There may be nuances from all the differences in technical performance, but your song would remain your song.
