 So don't worry about that. So when it comes to speaker setups, let's talk about it. So in the middle, we got one 120mm woofer, two 25mm tweeters, so this is stereo now, and we got two pass-through ears, but this time they're on the top, so on the top front and the back. Now moving on to the back, we got our 3

 It sounds pretty good. Now that is how you use Samsung dual audio. So I've tried to connect them over 20 times and they just want to connect, so I called Harman Kardon and after being on the phone for a little bit, they sent me an email back saying confirm that it will not connect.

 So here we got the Onyx 207 unboxed, now let's see this for the very first time in person. Oh my God, it's nice, come on, all right, so here we've got the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 7. There we go, now with this speaker, it looks absolutely beautiful with its die cast anodized aluminum frame or a UK aluminum frame, we got this soft touch fabric mesh with this blacked out Harman Kardon logo. Now let's start with our accessories, so first we got our quick start guide, our warranty information and our warning information

 Now in this case I'm using the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 with One UI 2.5, but this works for the same way going on board. First thing you want to do, turn on your speakers, then while you get that ready, you want to connect to both devices, so after that you want to go to media, which is on the top, and click on the blue check for both devices, make sure they are in sync. Now this is a little teaser until the full review, so where is my YouTube at, one second, so here we go

Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 7 Unboxing And First Impressions(Finally Stereo)

 I played some songs that were very sharp on my HK and they sound great on these. Overall impression is that it is amazing.

I had the chance to use these two hot pairs of speakers recently so I thought I'd share my impression for anyone who might be interested.

**Background:** *Please read this as it gives you info on my system, room, personal style etc which may impact my impression.* I caught the audio fever a couple of weeks ago. I got so many fevers in the past (motorcycles, cameras, watches etc.) and the only medicine for them is $$$. This time it is ... no different lol. I gave up after a few days of research and with budget of \~$1000, I bought myself an used Cambridge Audio CXA80, couple of cables, a nice Bluetooth receiver and a pair of Triangle Borea BR03. I set it up in my living room, which is \~13x16 and opens to my kitchen (behind the sideboard). Before this set up, I have the Harman Kardon Studio bluetooth speaker (it is amazing for the money btw). 

I considered the Elac UB5.1 before the Triangle, but was cautious about the 4ohm impedance. The idea of having to spend a lot of money in a good and powerful amp to make the speakers sound good is a bit silly tbh, especially at $600. The funny thing is one day after I ordered the Triangle, Elac introduced the UB5.2 with 6ohm at $600 and the price of the first version dropped by $300. Dang it. So long story short, I ended up with both the Triangle and the UB5.2. LOL. (the UB5.1 was out of consideration as I already bought the modest CA amp lol).

The Elac arrived a few days after the Triangle, so this impression is for the Triangle with \~10hrs of play time and the Elac with \~3hrs. So theres my break-in time data for you. 

I also use Spotify high quality + bluetooth for music. Too lazy for anything better than that. 

Now is how these sound and compare:

**1.** **Triangle BR-03:** 

**- Fit and finish:** Really good, looks much higher end than the Elac. Much bigger as well (which I like). The case is solid, but not as solid as the Elac. It might be the reason why the bass is better on the Elac.

**- Low:** It goes low but bass is not super heavy. Dont get me wrong, it is really good but definitely not strong point for the speakers (compared to the Elac). I usually play music with a little bass boost to make the sounds more lively.

**- Mid:** Wow. The mid is the highlight of the speakers. Its amazing, a bit forward, very detailed, great tone, vocals sounds freaking amazing. My music quality is probably not good enough to justify the speakers LOL but I agree with all the reviewers on the mid range of the Triangle.

**- High:** Excellent as well. Very detailed but smooth, airy and not fatiguing. I played some songs that were very sharp on my HK and they sound great on these.

Overall impression is that it is amazing. Very detailed and smooth with emphasis on mid range. Voice and instruments sounds awesome. It produces sound exactly to my taste. The only thing I wish it is better is the ability to "disappear". I dont know how to achieve it but there are several occasions where I dont know where my cheap HK is playing from, but for the Triangles, I always know exactly the location of the speakers. 

**2. Elac UB5.2:** 

**- Fit and finish:** It is solid. Better than the Triangle in this regard. It is smaller but weight the same as the Triangle I think. The look is plain and it looks and feels a bit cheaper than the Triangle.

**- Low:** Better than the Triangle. Bass is tighter and has more energy to it. I played some songs with super fast bass and the Triangle is kinda struggling but its totally fine on these. I'm kinda surprise as the woofer is smaller on the Elac

**- Mid:** A bit more recessed compared to the Triangle. I think it has tiny bit more detail than the Triangle (or maybe thats my imagination). The sound however is not as smooth and round as the Triangle, especially the vocals. 

**- High:** Again, a bit more recessed. But the detail is really good. Nothing to complain here.

Overall, the Elac is better in some areas and not as good in others compared to the Triangle. They have very similar sound signature though. I think the Triangle sounds more coherent and fit a bit better to my taste. Maybe the Elac needs more playtime or a better amp idk but in the few hours I have it, sometimes, I feel the sound was confusing. The Triangle is consistently good. My GF who knows nothing about hifi also prefers the sound of the Triangles.

To add on the difference in sound, I much prefer the look of the Triangle. So the Triangle stays, Elac goes back. I'm sure many others will be more happy with the Elac tho.

80w might not be enough to expand the lungs of the Elacs, BR03's are just easier to drive and most consider it to be a brighter speaker

I think speakers are snake oil.  I got 3 dollar speakers that sound as good if not better than my Wharfedale Diamond 225's or my Infinity R162's.  It is all about lots of good clean power and your shit speakers will sound better than you think. 

my 3 dollar speakers sound fantastic driven with >125wpc RMS...with the volume set low enough not to blow the speakers.

Let's take a look and take a listen to this little speaker So Just a quick overview for you guys and what's inside the box So you get of course the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 7 itself with a nice mesh on the outside then we have a charging adapter with obviously you will get an American cable arm here in Europe or a UK cable This is the adapter, the PSU and then some technical details for you guys and warranty papers and we will take a closer look at that and now to end I will tell you also and how it sounds like and Give you three four sounds to listen to this monster here in the corner So here we have the PSU up close a standard power cable here and then it says in the top We have 19 bolts and two Amps that means 38 watts are coming out of here So that could have been easily possible via the USB type C But obviously that's a little bit more flimsy and we will also take a closer look at the technical details So you guys know what the perfect specs are for example that we have 50 watts here inside when you have it in AC mode Which is great and the 50 Hertz to 20 kilohertz and then also in the bottom it says it's quite heavy with 3300 grams so it's more than six pounds and eight hours of battery life with the Standard volume and charging takes about five hours, which is actually quite long But what's disturbing me the most is that we have Bluetooth 4.2 inside in a 2021 device which should be Bluetooth 5.1 because that's the latest but still it sounds great And this way we can also still use stereo and if you take a closer look at the device itself You can see on the bottom and then we have here the aux in then the power in and the service USB type C port which Could have been a power port Not sure why they did that and then obviously we have here the buttons on the top which look amazing Feel amazing and there's an LED right below the power button

check the onyx studio 7, it has two tweeters, airy like a go+play , bass as rumbly as o6. the difference in plugged and unplugged is only of loudness by 3-4db not of bass depth, so you can remove that from your con. and also version of bluetooth will not make any difference in sound quality, even the aptx codec does not make any difference in sound quality , only in latency while watching videos.

i have spent a lot of time to research this exact requirement for myself. hate to break it but theres no replacement for onyx 6 in terms of bass rumble, all of them are wired speakers.

Well if your looking for a handheld easy to carry speaker I recommend the Megablast now it doesn't have a aux port so they can only connect to another Megablast

Megaboom sounds awesome and they have a aux port and can connect with other Megaboom speakers and outside manufacturers by daisy chain

I love the bass on Onyx 6 when its plugged in, I love the look but i returned it because its still not a complete speaker. I LOVE the "lows" but its a bit overpowering in other music, also its mono.

I also tested the Go+ but its too bulky and the low bass doesn't rumble.     
I own motion+, motion boom I like the sound, but i think they both lack the lows.   


Are there any alternatives I can test ? Which are a stereo but with the same rumble or a bit airier than the Onyx 6. Maybe give thoughts on onyx 7 ?

Alternatives to Harman Kardon Onyx 6 ? Suggestions ?

I love the way this speaker sounds! It is so loud and the bass is moving. Actually my new favorite speaker! The only unfortunate thing about this speaker is that the battery life is not at all 8 hours long. Mine will only last at most 2 hours, if that! Disappointing but I love it.

Amazing Sound, Battery Life Not Great

 So like I said, it's a Bluetooth speaker So it is Bluetooth and battery power So we're gonna have to go ahead and see you know, how the battery life is and all that But we got Bluetooth right there on the left side We actually have the speaker here just sitting on a table look like a coffee table or something on the back We got Onyx Studio 7. So we got superior stereo performance. We got wireless Bluetooth streaming. We got eight hours of play time So, I mean there you go, I guess and then you actually got wireless dual sound so the T-Mobile dude actually told me that you Can link up more than one of these so just imagine that stereo sound you got them all linked up Oh, I can't wait man

 So let me go ahead and end this call real quick. And as you can see here, this is connected. As you can see, hold on, let me go and focus on this real quick. HK Onyx Studio 7, so it looks like you can't take phone calls on this speaker

 But you have a Bluetooth connect button, you have a volume down, you have a power, we got a volume up, and then we got a play and pause button. So I'm pretty sure this does not work with phone calls. But you know what? Let's go ahead and try that real quick. I'm calling my house right now, and as you can see here, it's not picking up the speaker

99 But I did not pay that I paid like 200 bucks and then at the top you just got left right Bluetooth You got the battery name just basically everything we just saw so for this one We're gonna have to go and bust out the knife. Yeah, let's go and get to this I still haven't clean this knife man You know, I was playing with that drywall and I never got to it cutting that open and cutting that open Okay, cool. Now, let's go ahead and get up into this box. Alright, man Let's go ahead see what a $500 speaker looks like

Serious bass!

I'm really struggling to find info about this. I want to have (some) good sound at home. I couldn't care less about portability or wether it is a smart speaker.  I just  want a set that sounds good. I actually was going for a set of small Genelecs but the wife wants something completely wireless. What should I be looking for? Thanks in advance for any advice
