The lower setting is not adequate for carpet pickup spoiler alert so we're just going to use the highest setting [Music] [Music] All right Well so let's compare first of all, the width to the animal hair you saw

 And what's great about this is they put the weight down low and combine it with a fairly large dust cup and proven battery system. If you're not familiar with Hoover's One Power System, it powers a variety of things anything from a leaf blowers, to flashlights, to vacuum cleaners, shop vacuums, carpet extractors, etc. It's one Eco system that you can interchange the battery in and they're constantly coming out with new stuff that takes this battery. Now there are a few things that separate this cordless vacuum from a lot of others out there

 So yes, you can put that in the dishwasher and it looks like you can put that in the dishwasher as well. Let's see how this did, except for a little bit of fuzziness. it looks pretty much intact to me, so let's let that air dry. In terms of low places, the nozzle does get low to get, like under a chair or something

Hoover OnePwr Evolve (BH53420) Cordless Vacuum Cleaner Review

 This flaw is absolutely infuriating. I have talked with Hoover and they say that's the way it is designed so not to tangle up on a loose thread, but good God almighty, I spend as much time shutting it down and turning it back on as I do actually vacuuming. It is absolutely infuriating and even though it has a lot of great features, I hate the thing and do not recommend this unit. Also, the on-off switch and mode selector is not handy at all

 We have hardwood floors with many throw rugs that need to be vacuumed, and here in lies the rub. Even on CARPET mode, every darned time the vacuum catches a rug's edge it shuts down and the beater bar quits turning. The only way to start it up again is to turn it off, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on. If you take the vacuum off the edge of the rug quickly it's OK, but if you back up on the rug or get too close to the edge, it catches it and shuts down

 My old Hoover did not pick up as good as this one does, but it never shut down when I hit a rug's edge. It might stop turning until I get it off the edge but it would start up again. Hoover warranty registration disappoints

Hi everyone. I can't believe this, but this is the first time using Reddit, so I apologize if I'm not posting correctly.

I recently relocated to a 1200 sq ft apartment, got rid of everything trying to do a fresh start. The entire place is hard floors, not real hardwood, but that plasticky laminate (I don't know the name). I anticipate getting a few area rugs once I'm settled in.

I have a Yorkie mix and he sheds badly when the seasons change and North Carolina is way hotter than DC so he's shedding like crazy. I have been looking at vacuum cleaners for over a month now and every time I feel I'm close to something, some youtube video or some article casts doubt and I start over. Ideally, I would like a robust, cordless all in 1 type machine. I really don't want cords anymore.

It also seems like these days, you can't really believe what you read in reviews anymore, with so many pay to review or fake reviews out there. And to make it worse, there are sites like "[bestreviews.com](https://bestreviews.com)" or "[topten.com](https://topten.com)" or whatever, that don't even test anything but get an aggregate of user reviews (fake or not) from everywhere and some algorithm spits out their top 10. Drives me nuts!

Labor Day is coming up and I'm starting to see sales. I was completely prepared to get a Dyson v15 (because 90% of everyone seems to love Dyson), but it also costs like a month's rent!! Then I came across Vacuum Wars and he was all like "Wow, the Lupe might be the best cordless vacuum yet!!". 

So, spent another week researching the Lupe, and really liked the modularized philosophy and it was slightly cheaper than the Dyson and was ready to get it and bam!..... came across another You Tube channel called Performance Review, where the guy is actually a vacuum tech. Then he goes on to say that the Dyson and everyone trying to copy Dyson aren't worth the money. The build is cheap, prices inflated, great marketing etc...... then he goes on to say the Dyson is really not that powerful, but people get mislead by numbers that don't really mean anything in the practical world. He also says that the Lupe is meh.... not quite worth the money and it's pretty much just a Kickstarter prototype right now based on his tests.  He also has a review basically saying the Hoover Evolve Pet also sucks.   
This guy also seems to have an aversion to bagless and cordless and keeps repeating the same video of him emptying a canister with dust flying everywhere.

From his channel, he talks about IBSIAC, another you tube vacuum guru and he's based in the UK. He also doesn't care too much for the hyped-up cordless Dysons and Dyson wannabes. He then recommends the Henry bu Numatic. But the Henry's are so expensive via Amazon in the US, but seem so much cheaper in the UK!! But both IBSIAC and the Vacuum Tech agree that Numatic's cordless Henry is one of the top vacuums.

SIGH!!! now I'm like when is this going to end?!?!?!?! As I sit here researching and researching, the house is getting dirtier and dirtier!!

Of course, then another ad brings me to [Hoover.com](https://Hoover.com) who now has a sale of the Hoover Evolve Pet, for $159 plus a free Hoover Dust catcher.  And at this point, I don't even know what to do anymore. The Vacuum Tech just said it was not a good vacuum. I almost just want to just get the hoover deal so I have something to clean the place with. I mean, any new vacuum, crappy or not, should be able to suck up dust and dirt right out of the box right? I mean, I haven't even unpacked yet and I don't like to wear shoes in the house and for some reason, this place just gets automatically dusty and I don't even open any windows or doors because it is so hot in North Carolina now!!

My gut says to get the cordless Henry. I'm 1 person, with 1 dog in a rented apartment with fake hardwood, floors. How sophisticated do I need to get.... right? According to the Vacuum tech guy, the Henry is just a robust, simple, no-frills but powerful vacuum with all the right attachments for floors. No need for any fancy roller brushes and stuff.  But the last I checked, the cordless Henry is going for more than $500 in the US from places like Amazon and Wayfair. Does anyone know of a cheaper place to get a cordless henry? Or maybe I should just go to Home Depot and get a shop vac!!!

Anyway, I'm almost at my wit's end, and I start work tomorrow, and I really want to get this obsession out of the way!!! (I'm super obsessive it drives me crazy!!!) On one hand, I "can" afford a really expensive vacuum, but do I really want to?  I've spent so much money already on this move, and still need to furnish this apartment. On the other hand, I am thinking, just get the hoover Evolve on sale with the free dust catcher, and that can be my "disposable" vacuum until I find what I really want. But what I don't like about the hoover evolve is that there are no tools.... but then again, the dust catcher is free..... ARRGH, I'm just going insane!!!

BTW, I have also attempted to contact Wayfair, Vacuum Wars, the Vacuum Tech but no response, they probably get tons of e-mails like mine.

Vacuum Purchase in the US - Just unable to decide

Oh, how I wanted to love this small, agile vacuum. But, it did not meet the mark. It's small, lightweight, easy to maneuver, and has multiple settings. Although it sounds like things are being picked up off the floor, the suction is not very strong, and most of what's on the floor stays there

I bought this about two or three weeks ago. Debated between the Crosswave and this one. Chose this because I had a Hoover Floormate (2 actually) and really did like them. But, the cordless feature and overall design was more appealing

One of my two cats was recently diagnosed with asthma, and that’s prompted me to want to get a new vacuum. If I can manage the environmental irritants enough, I can hopefully keep it from worsening to the point of him needing medication. Also my current vacuum is frankly so shitty that I don’t even bother. I’ve been considering getting a new one for a while, but learning that it’ll help my little man’s health has pushed me to finally actually do it. 

I have to go cordless. My asthmatic cat also has a condition called pica where he likes to chew cords, so I’d prefer to have a mounted or standing charger where I can put all my pica-proofing measures in place so he doesn’t electrocute himself or immediately damage it. 

I have a ~650 sq ft apartment (but would like a model that could work for ~1000 in the hopes that I have the money for a bigger place in the next few years). I’m not too worried about battery life. I have a good spot for a stick vacuum where my current one is, so I’d like to keep with that. With a small space with little storage, it’d be really hard to have something larger. Also, I have ADHD and struggle with object permanence, so having it out will help me to remember to actually use it. 

Around 80% of my apartment is high pile carpet, so it’s REALLY important that it can pull things like kitty litter, cat hair, and dust, from that. (I’m both excited for and dreading the first go with a decent vacuum. It’ll probably be gross how much I get up).

A HEPA filter is a must, because asthma. 

My parents are generously paying $400 towards this as a birthday present, and I can afford to put maybe $400 more (so full budget is about $800, but I’m flexible). 

This last bit is going to sound dumb to a lot of people, but I’d like something that’s fun. I know that for myself, if there’s a silly gimmick that I think is cool, it’ll help me vacuum as frequently as I should (2x a week is what most of the internet seems to say for homes with an asthmatic person, I’m assuming that goes for asthmatic cats as well). I used to struggle with scooping the litter every day, but now that I have a silly special trash can for it (litter genie), I almost never forget. 

I was heavily considering the Dyson V15 detect, however it is out of stock, and I don’t want to make my little guy wait. I really think a quality vacuum will do wonders for his breathing. The reviews I’ve seen online have been great, and I know the whole deal of having something that’s the “latest and greatest” would help motivate me to clean. Mostly because of the stupid but, in my opinion, really cool, gimmick of the laser for hard floors (yes, even though I have only like 50 sq feet of hard floors). 

I also thought about the v10. But it doesn’t seem to do as well on carpet, and it’s not as exciting (again, I know “fun” shouldn’t be a factor, but I just know it’ll really help motivate me to keep up with the chore).

From the perusing I’ve done in this group so far, it doesn’t sound like a Dyson might be the best investment, so I’d LOVE to hear any recommendations that are just as exciting as the v15 features.

<div class="md">One of my two cats was recently diagnosed with asthma, and that’s prompted me to want to get a new vacuum. If I can manage the environmental irritants enough, I can hopefully keep it from worsening to the point of him needing medication. Also my current vacuum is frankly so shitty that I don’t even bother. I’ve been considering getting a new one for a while, but learning that it’ll help my little man’s health has pushed me to finally actually do it. 

I have to go cordless. My asthmatic cat also has a condition called pica where he likes to chew cords, so I’d prefer to have a mounted or standing charger where I can put all my pica-proofing measures in place so he doesn’t electrocute himself or immediately damage it. 

I have a ~650 sq ft apartment (but would like a model that could work for ~1000 in the hopes that I have the money for a bigger place in the next few years). I’m not too worried about battery life. I have a good spot for a stick vacuum where my current one is, so I’d like to keep with that. With a small space with little storage, it’d be really hard to have something larger. Also, I have ADHD and struggle with object permanence, so having it out will help me to remember to actually use it. 

Around 80% of my apartment is high pile carpet, so it’s REALLY important that it can pull things like kitty litter, cat hair, and dust, from that. (I’m both excited for and dreading the first go with a decent vacuum. It’ll probably be gross how much I get up).

A HEPA filter is a must, because asthma. 

My parents are generously paying $400 towards this as a birthday present, and I can afford to put maybe $400 more (so full budget is about $800, but I’m flexible). 

This last bit is going to sound dumb to a lot of people, but I’d like something that’s fun. I know that for myself, if there’s a silly gimmick that I think is cool, it’ll help me vacuum as frequently as I should (2x a week is what most of the internet seems to say for homes with an asthmatic person, I’m assuming that goes for asthmatic cats as well). I used to struggle with scooping the litter every day, but now that I have a silly special trash can for it (litter genie), I almost never forget. 

I was heavily considering the Dyson V15 detect, however it is out of stock, and I don’t want to make my little guy wait. I really think a quality vacuum will do wonders for his breathing. The reviews I’ve seen online have been great, and I know the whole deal of having something that’s the “latest and greatest” would help motivate me to clean. Mostly because of the stupid but, in my opinion, really cool, gimmick of the laser for hard floors (yes, even though I have only like 50 sq feet of hard floors).
