 It's the default mode. I use it on I think I think it's really a lot of reviewers kind of like undersold it I think I even even when I bought the headphone I didn't think 3d was gonna be anything but after I used it I was like, wow, this is amazing Especially when you're watching movies 3d is just absolutely amazing. Need recommendations for gaming headset options around $300

Final Fantasy XIV also sounds very good on the headset. The game's soundtrack is full and energetic, from the bouncy Gold Saucer theme to the relaxing Limsa Lominsa. Riding a chocobo, the sound of bird feet on dirt roads comes through crisply, and I could easily discern all the environmental noises.

 With the Cloud Orbit S, HyperX worked with Audeze on the headset's development, using the same planar magnetic drivers and putting them into a wired gaming headset that's very similar in features, but a bit more wallet-friendly at $329.99. If you're looking for an excellent wired gaming headset and are willing to shell out a pretty penny, the Cloud Orbit S is a feature-rich choice that sounds fantastic and easily stands up against its similarly priced rivals, earning our Editors' Choice.

Like the Audeze Mobius, the Cloud Orbit S uses 100mm planar magnetic drivers. This is a different and generally more expensive technology than the conventional dynamic drivers found on most headphones and headsets, and can typically produce excellent, precise sound.

While the headband isn't completely wrapped in faux leather, the Orbit S is generously padded where it counts. The earpads are made of soft memory foam, with a strip of padding on the underside of the headband to match. These pads are all wrapped in very supple faux leather, which makes the headset comfortable to wear for long periods.

 For $300 it doesn't feel right. The takeaway here is that I hope more companies start to use planar magnetic drivers in their gaming headsets. I know that is going to increase the price point but I mean the gaming headsets are so expensive already that it doesn't hurt to venture out into more premium driver territory to get better sound. I know this thing is going to be not super popular among mainstream because of the price point but for those looking for really good audio solutions that is like a gaming headset in disguise the Orbit S or the Orbit would be my pick because of Waves NX technology is kind of, it's just a gimmick that gives you head tracking but real no use in any of the scenarios where I tested this thing

5 hours so there are up to 10 hours of runtime is valid. Now for the price point build quality is okay, there's no creaking when trying to flex them, size extensions work well, the padding on top of the headband on the earcups is memory foam so they do conform to the shape of your head. But outside of headtracking 3D audio for game immersion is absolutely on point. It's one of the only few virtual surround sound modes that I enjoy outside of like the GSX 1000 from Sennheiser where here the environment does get slightly wider without losing detail you still get a lot of that nice bass definition, good clarity throughout the entire range and I really appreciate the a bit closeness on the vocals I actually really like watching YouTube videos with 3D audio on and I was not expecting that

 The Orbit is $299 and the Orbit S is $329 and the main distinction between the two, the $30 premium gets you the Waves NX technology, basically the 3D tracking that's built into the headset and I'll talk about that later, so you do get that with the Orbit S but you do not with the Orbit. While the Odyssey Mobius sells for $399 and the reason for that markup is because the Odyssey Mobius also has wireless functionality with Bluetooth while this thing does not. And that price point, I get it, will immediately turn off many consumers from even considering or looking at something like it, but the whole idea is that inclusion of 100mm planar magnetic drivers into the gaming market and let me tell you guys, these sound incredible. The deepest, richest bass on any gaming headset that I've ever heard

The Most Advanced Gaming Headset - HyperX Cloud ORBIT S

 I myself never thought that I can get anything better than a Hyperx Cloud Orbit. Here I'm with my Sennheiser 560S with a G6 DAC/amp and it's honestly a big difference. It was game-changing in csgo in terms of direction audio (I can hear anything from any direction even in a heavy gunfight). And it was pretty easy to get used to the new sound

My old Superluxs became torture devices after a couple hours because the pads on your head were hard and contacted a small surface area- and they were feather light...

P.S. If your Audezes do become uncomfortable, it's because the strap has stretched out and the metal bars are resting on your head; you need to disassemble the strap and make new holes to compensate.

I have a really nice headset setup (hd 800s gumby /Raggy) and other “nice” headphones but I still use and like the convenience of gaming headphones. 

I like the all in one package, wireless, game/chat mix, etc. Like he says, I’m not looking for a competitive advantage, I’m looking for convenience and for it to work without setting up 2/3 devices.  

I know gaming headphones get shitted on all the time but I think for most people, they make sense and are worth it.

Crinacle - The best gaming headphones aren't gaming headphones

 I doubted just how fragile this $300+ headset was, and I paid the price for it. No other headset I have ever used came close to the amount of damage this headset seemingly did to itself in this short of a time span. Mind you, I brought the G935's around July 2019, and they're still in better condition than these. I don't think it would be possible to be any more careful than I have been with this set, save never taking it out of its box

 I'm currently in the process of getting a replacement with my warranty, but no word on that yet.

Sound Quality is fantastic. Build Quality, not so much.

 For my head, it's okay. It's a little bit on the tighter side, but not something that cause me pain or discomfort or something like this. I just feel it a little bit tighter. But people with wider heads and bigger heads tried this, my friends, and they complained about the clamping force

 So the audio may sound to you a little bit nosy. But the thing that annoyed me very much was that it was very quiet. And I have ramped up the volume from Windows at 100%, from Audacity at 100%. And this, my friends, is the audio quality from the microphone, non-edited, recorded with Audacity

 That because of the proximity to the ear and the rather clinical estimation of the timing of each channel's sound to reach your ear. 

True, it can't do that because it only has 2 drivers, 1 left,  1 right BUT so are many other typical gaming headphones.  There are, of course, gaming headphones with multiple smaller drivers to offer you that dedicated 5.1 or 7.1 experience but smaller drivers also means your sacrificing on quality and I also stand to argue that what they offer you can't distinguish from the surround the 'regular' headphones are able to produce with just their 2 drivers

. and they made me aware of what everyone was saying,  buy a decent pair of headphones. I used a Steelseries gaming headset before and Logitech and they both are blown out of the water when it comes to detail,  soundstage, clarity frequency seperaration. That's the main issue with gaming headsets

 That headset however is wireless, provides a wireless option whereas this one doesn't which is interesting. That headset also features 96kHz audio but it does have smaller drivers and doesn't support 7.1 surround sound on PlayStation for example so you know there are some niggles but it is a lot cheaper. The Cloud Orbit S by comparison is said to only support 50kHz or 50,000Hz instead of the high res 96kHz

 You can also remove this microphone and because it's got a 3.5mm jack and a USB-C connection it means you can plug it into your headphone, take it out of the house and use it that way as just headphones. And from an audio point of view it does a really good job. I was really surprised that they've sort of hidden away the 96kHz, I wonder whether the drivers themselves don't actually support 96kHz but the headset tricks Windows into thinking it does, but I was surprised by that

 You'll never be wondering where enemy are, you'll hear them creeping up on you, you'll hear movement, you'll hear gunfire, you'll hear cars coming by or whatever games you're playing or whatever else. It does a fantastic job, it is a wonderful bit of kit. Would I pay £300 for it? Probably not to be honest. Personally I would go for something like the Astro A50, that is on PC at least, one of my favourite headsets because it balances comfort with convenience in having a wireless headset with a charging base station, none of these annoying cable problems, a good microphone, a nice design and a comfortable fit

However this probably delivers better audio, it has a much closer tighter fit to the head, it blocks out a lot more external noise with these deep lush ear cups.
