We had to stop, stir the chili, close the lid, and let it reach pressure again. Instant Pot says the food-burn alert is a safety mechanism that stops heating to prevent food from burning, but it adds that this warning can also occur when cooking very starchy foods that settle at the bottom of the pot. To test the sous vide feature, we cooked chicken breasts for 3 hours; they were tender and delicious.

 Coming up, the pressure is going to release short bursts of steam. Here it has taken exactly 10 minutes to come up to pressure and you can see as it increases in pressure. A little bit of steam is going to be released and looks like that, and that's completely normal again, don't put it underneath the countertop or light that you want steam. You can also use this outside I've done that before it's the thought of releasing pressure like that

So you want to look what you put in: there is going to pretty much stay. One thing I was going to say was that a tough time to get stuck under pressure exactly and so about 25 minutes, all in all to do the water test and get yourself familiar with your new instant pot

 You would need a concealer to seal your meat if you're doing meat and what the instant pot will do will keep it at a consistent temperature similar. It says, as it does with the yogurt and then you can sear the meat after it's done to being at a certain temperature and supposed to come out like butter. I really want to try that out. I haven't haven't done it yet, but I would definitely do a video as soon as I do that and of course the screen comes out after about five seconds, which is kind of annoying

New Instant Pot Max Review/Overview and Water Test 2018

 It has a sleek look to it and it pressure cooks most things very well.  The ability to get to 15PSI is nice, but it doesn’t really shave that much off cook times, especially when you factor in the time it takes to warm up. It saves about 10% of time. That means for a 30-minute dish, you might save 3 minutes of cooking, but the extra heat-up time is going to take at least some of that

 I can’t stress enough how much I despise the electronic pressure release.  My advice: Get the Ultra. The Max isn’t worth it, especially at full price. I give the Max three stars, but I still do not recommend, and it’s all because of the stupid electronic pressure release

 It saves about 10% of time. That means for a 30-minute dish, you might save 3 minutes of cooking, but the extra heat-up time is going to take at least some of that. It certainly doesn’t command the premium price.  The lack of pre-programmed buttons is a little dumb, not that big of a deal to me

 It just means I have to remember how long to cook something, instead of simply pushing a button.  My biggest frustration, by far, is the electronic pressure release. Why they created that feature without adding the ability to program it to automatically release the pressure after a designated amount of time is beyond me. It’s just lazy engineering

Electronic Pressure Release is Awful

 This little light here means don't open the lid, yet you can see the temperature is falling there and it is on the keep warm mode. Now, that's the keep warm section of the progress bar a little bit of steam coming out there bad! Oh, there goes, pin drop down red light is off meaning I can open the lid. The lid is not incredibly smooth. It'S a it's a little bit rougher than my duos, which is interesting and there we go

 So if you look down here, it's kind of hard to see, but there's a unlock here and a little arrow that you line up the arrows with and then you and there's another little arrow right here. So you line up the arrows to close it. So the lid is on now it's plugged in I'm going to hit pressure cook and I'm going to adjust the time down to 15 minutes. There'S that / s pressure right here to toggle between low high and Max and I'm selecting max and then I'm gon na touch venting and it has no venting, which means natural pressure reliefs where it won't vent it'll

 And then this is the condensation collector. This one looks the same as on the duo's as well, and that goes back behind here, just the same as on the duo's, it just slides right back there if you empty it every so often when it gets filled with a little bit of condensation. It doesn't fill up very often, but it's good to check every once in a while, and then we got a trivet or a steamer rack. This is what the steamer rack looks like, and it's got little feet on there, so it holds whatever you're cooking above the water, so you have water underneath that creates the steam that creates the pressure and whatever you want to cook

 We got one more minute on the cook time and then we'll see how this auto quick release works notice. This is red. This little light here means don't open the lid, yet you can see the temperature is falling there and it is on the keep warm mode. Instant Pot Max! Unboxing & 15psi Water Test

 I immediately forgot about this, and ruined another batch of oats with the spices I use in pinto beans, and ruined another gasket. This left me with one "neutral" and two "spicy" gaskets.  I tried removing the gaskets during storage so I would pay attention to which one I was using before I ruined another meal. Guess what: I forgot to use any gasket, and it leaked oatmeal liquid all over the counter

 The Instant Pot doesn't have that problem *when used correctly*, but if you forget the seal, you have some serious clean-up to do.  Buying spare gaskets is not expensive, so on the advice of other Amazonians, I bought a pair: one for "neutral" meals like my steel-cut oats, and one for "spicy" meals. I immediately forgot about this, and ruined another batch of oats with the spices I use in pinto beans, and ruined another gasket. This left me with one "neutral" and two "spicy" gaskets

  You may laugh at me (I certainly laugh at me), but I strongly believe Instant Pot gaskets are made with the wrong material, and InstantPot should fix that. The correct material exists, but it isn't silicon. Presto knows what it is.  I'm a menopausal public school teacher at what I hope is the assEnd of a pandemic

  I'm currently storing the "spicy" gaskets in the dishwasher so they get washed every time I run it, whether or not they have been used. I'll probably ruin the remaining "neutral" gasket soon, so I ordered another pair of replacements.  we're not sure this new Instant Pot is working correctly because the Multi-grain function takes a ridiculously long time to cook. After several tries we managed to cook some wheat berries and short grain brown rice. Although the readout says it's going to cook for 22 minutes, it appears that it preheats for >45 minutes before it starts cooking, and then cooks for approximately another 45 minutes. A regular rice cooker would have been done in half the time!  Unfortunately, we can't compare this with how the old device's multi-grain function worked because we always used a rice cooker for rice and other grains

That's not going to work for us if it takes twice as long to cook a pot of brown rice than a regular non-pressurized rice cooker!  The description of Multi-grain options in the old Pot's user manual do not match the options on the screen of the new device

This needs a good user manual!

I'm not as thrilled with the knob as my old instant pot

 The display shows the temp which has been over the 240 degree that is required  for canning, with 15psi. This is the only I Pot that can be used for canning safely. I have a 7 qt. pressure canner I use on the stove top
