 I use it for parties, I use it for taking a shower, do not put it in the shower. I use it. You know backyard parties, I use it to just leave in a kitchen to go ahead and you know play music, it's actually very versatile and it's really useful the times when it doesn't become useful is when your Wi-Fi goes out.  Stems the only connect to the Wi-Fi, or sometimes it won't recognize, some of your voice commands, but it's pretty cool, I'm not gon na lie. JBL Link 20 Honest REVIEW

I have a JBL Link 10 in the bathroom. Has great sound, works off battery, also supports Bluetooth so you could use it camping etc, waterproof (although I don't have it in the shower itself). It also works as part of a speaker group so when my morning routine kicks in and the radio starts and I go to the bathroom, just turn it on (takes about 30seconds to boot up) and it automatically joins in with the speaker group. I probably have to charge it every 3 weeks

I'm looking for a Google Assistant compatible speaker to go in my shower. I've seen a couple of old discussions about this that have basically come down to "just use a home mini". But I'm in the UK and we don't have power sockets in our bathrooms (except specific ones for shavers - and I don't have one of those).

That may sound like a strange thing to say, but all these wireless speakers have digital signal processors (DSP) that process sound in their own particular way

Not surprisingly, it doesn't sound as good as larger and more powerful AC-powered speakers like the Sonos One, Apple's HomePod and JBL's Link 300 and Link 500, which deliver fuller, richer sound and hold together better at higher volumes.  The Megablast has a little bit of presence boost (otherwise known as treble boost) that can sometimes make certain riffs sound a little harsh. (UE's Blast, which costs the same as this speaker, has less bass.)

The link 20 is a good speaker with great sound. I find that when plugged in or on battery, the speaker turns off after a period off inactivity. have to get up and turn back on and wait about 1 minuet for it to connect. That defeats the purpose of having a google assistant speaker

I got a JBL Link portable. It stays on it's charging base on a bookstand near the backdoor. I just grab it whenever we are spending time in the backyard.

Outdoor speakers

Sound Quality is good, but not if you're very close to the front. The speakers are on the side, which in a corner of a room works great, but not so much on a desk in front of you.. It goes pretty loud without distortion and still has a good, full range sound

I have multiple Google Home enabled speakers;  my JBL Link Bar and JBL Link 20 are by far the buggiest speakers out of the bunch. They disconnect the most and they take the longest to connect to.

1. Remove the speaker from Google Home
2. Factory reset by press and hold Mute button (below Power button) about 15s and release it
3. Add the speaker to Google Home again
4. Leave it alone, after about 30-60 mins, when you see the 4 white leds on the top of the front panel flashing, that's when it's updating.
5. When 4 white leds of, check it's version on Google Home app, it's updated.

Today 11/05/2021, the lasted System firmware is 1690, Cast fimrware 1.44.219548

How to update JBL Link 20 firmware?

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! It is faulty. It initially connected to my home wireless AP using Google Home app and then a week later failed to connect. We re-used Google Home app and stepped thru all the correct steps and the device isn't recognized by the Google Home app. I then looked for resolutions online/blogs and found hundreds of people with the exact same problem, who spent needless hours with no resolve

 First there are too many screen to pass thru on the Google Home app, and then it goes into a nonsense circular loop where the device cannot be found, and there is no solution from Google nor from JBL Speaker. Google isn't owning the problem and I have found nothing online thru other blogs that tells me JBL Speaker is owning the problem.
