 Overall, though, I did prefer the 16 millimeter paddle. I think that it comes down to general preferences. Both are great paddles. The 14 just moves a little bit quicker for me, offering a livelier response, whereas the 16, a little bit more control

 While my choice of the two paddles is the 16mm because of the power that it offers, I did find the handle circumference to be a bit uncomfortable for me since I typically play with gearbox. On the other hand, the 14mm does have the smaller handle circumference, which was much more comfortable for me. It also has really good touch at the kitchen, but from the baseline, I was really struggling to find my rhythm to hit deep serves and to hit deep returns to the baseline. Overall, I was really excited to play test these Yola paddles

 The paddles we play tested had a weight variance of about.3 ounces. The 16mm was a little heavier and I noticed that I got actually more power on that thicker 16mm beam because of that weight. The 16 was soft enough where I felt like I was really in control of my shots, but that added weight and that added power really made me feel like it was a great all court paddle

 It was giving me a space for my finger to sit, and so I knew when I had the right grip on the paddle. Although I did like both paddles, I did tend to gravitate toward the 16 millimeter paddle. I did feel like from the back court, I was just driving through the ball a little bit better. The ball was cutting through the air more effectively

I'm a 4.0 singles player and generally play a power/spin game sort of like tennis since that's what I came from. I made a post asking for paddle advice and these two paddles were the most recommended. Ive narrowed it down to one of these two but wanted some additional input on their differences and what more experienced people would recommend for my game style.

Quality control issues

Sorry to add another paddle comparison here, but I figured a handful have used both.  

Thoughts so far:

Have very large hands and arms so I don’t need an extended reach, but I do want a longer grip. I’ve heard that the Pursuit is a bit of an all-around paddle, and that most people prefer the 6.0. So I’m pretty confident that this would be the Engage I would want. With the Epic, it’s also all-around but the Amped is more power oriented, but I don’t want a Vanguard because they’re a whole $50 more. So the Epic has the largest length and isn’t an extended reach, so I’m also pretty sure that it’s be the Selkirk that I’d want. 

I don’t think there’s any way I’d be able to test either one, so any insight would be appreciated!

Engage Pursuit MX 6.0 vs Selkirk Amped Epic

 It does have great spin, but my CRBN paddle I feel had much more spin than this one. I like the control it has but the power is lacking. I can’t hit drives consistently with it. I would either hit it too hard or too soft

Good for beginners

Carbon face very effective. Handle best texture, grip, and about 3/8" longer than previous 3 paddles feels like an extension of your arm instead of a tool. Have confidence your previously low percentage serves will work!

That there paddle will do what you ask of it.

The z5 isn't a very great paddle.  It's good for a $75 paddle maybe , but not in the league of actual  top level paddles.
