A few things I liked and didn’t like about this mixer

Doesn't compete with Kitchen Aid in content or quality

 There is no quick-start guide, but if you’re at all familiar with mixers, this is easy to set up and get right into action.  Price: This item is currently listed at approximately $230. That’s a lot, but this is a heavy-duty, multi-speed mixing machine, with lots of opportunities for expansion. This is a fair price for this item

 No problems in getting things out, with all of it cleaned and ready to go in less than ten minutes.  This unit is heavy, with a heavy stand and powerful motor. The unit is large, takes up a lot of counter space, and will take some thought to find a good place to store it.  The release latch on the unit to bring the head up and lock it is easy to locate and use, but the head is not spring-loaded/assisted, so that you have to use two hands to unlock the head and move it upward

  Bottom Line: This is an investment appliance, one that you buy and use for the next 15 or more years. It is heavy-duty and easy to use. It is somewhat expensive, yes, but you get what you pay for, and this item is a quality product.

 Crepe batter, pizza dough, cake dough, and various pasta mixes all were a piece of cake with this unit. The bowls and attachments all work just fine.  The unit is quiet in operation—nice. It’s got a nice little spotlight shining down into the bowl so can clearly see how your concoction is coming along

Simple, Easy to Use, Heavy-Duty Mixer

I'm not sure why this item uses a design so similar to a traditional Kitchen Aide stand mixer while having slightly different hole sizes for the beater and the bowls. The front port for attachments seems to use the same dimensions as our older Kitchen Aide, but the blade and bowl attachment points are of the same design, but slight different diameters.  In use this mixer is a bit louder than our older mixer, but is has plenty of power and great speed control.  Given that you can find a similar mixer from the better known brand at about the same price, why go for the Sears Made in China clone? It doesn't have the long term parts support of a Kitchen Aid and Sears doesn't offer ANY accessories which fit

No good reason to buy this poorly supported clone of the popular Kitchen Aide stand mixer

 In addition, the force of the heavier dough "locked" the mixing bowl into place to a point where I couldn't remove it myself - my husband had to take it apart for me. Mixing eggs and other lighter mixtures has been more successful and appears to be what this machine does best

 My mixer started leaking oil from the gears within a year of owning it. Sears does not back up their products. The customer service number that comes with the box is a joke. They do call you back, but nothing ever happens

 I have spoken to them twice without and have not had luck. I now have a useless appliance taking up space. It's a shame because I like the design of the mixer and was hoping it would perform.

Kenmore stand mixer

Kennmore is competing with Kitchenaid and performs more or less the same jobs, so my review will be a comparison. For the price, the Kenmore is more powerful than the corresponding Kitchenaid model which means in my case that I can knead more or stiffer bread dough without the motor overheating. The mixing attachments are somewhat flimsier. I prefer the Kenmore large knob locking mechanism and speed control

A high quality stand mixer

 Well, as it turns out, no very! Let me explain why. I looked at the touch panel where the buttons are on the side of the mixer. It felt flimsy, like I could feel the buttons under the membrane. It looked shoddy

 The videos showed a clunky performing Kenmore, and the need to throw the mixture into the Kitchenaid to finish dough properly. The Kenmore stammered, stalled, and failed to incorporate all the ingredients into the mixture. I tend to not rely on videos alone, due to user bias or user error. So, I made the trek to my local Sears store to check out the Kenmore for myself

Honest Comparison to Kitchenaid Pro Line

 All other comments are given without my prior Kitchenaid bias.  PROS: 1. The overall design is aesthetically pleasing and since it does not have unnecessary crevices or design elements it's easy to wipe clean. 2

 The continuous speed control is great. I am keeping the owner's manual with the mixer so I can refer to the speed numbers and what each is best suited for i. e. 1=Stir, 4=Mixing/Beating semi-heavy batters, 10=Fast Whipping for small amounts of egg whites or cream

 I used a paper towel folded into a small square. 2. 3qt bowl does not have a handle.  It's obvious this is a Kitchenaid knock off, so why spend extra money on a designer jeans version? The true test of this type of appliance is how it holds up over time or if it bogs down when subjected to bread dough
