This mixer aced nearly every test, with the exception of the high-hydration pizza dough, flawlessly completing everything from the most basic of tasks (such as whipping two egg whites) to making enough frosting for a three-layer cake. Merry Christmas 2020! Unboxing of the KitchenAid Artisan Mini 3.5 QT Tilt-Head Stand Mixer

 They both have a hand mixer, which I bought them, when they moved into their own places, and claim that's all they need for now.  My observations after using this Mini Kitchenaid mixer several times now:  • It's pretty good for mixing up small batches of some things, especially when whipping creamy things, but it struggles with some of my heavier/denser mixes, leaving some ingredients unincorporated into the mix in the bottom of the bowl.* First noticed this issue when making a batch of my homemade brownies, and again when I made some almond butter & date oat bars. Not all the dry ingredients got mixed in

 They said they could just borrow mine, if necessary, which is totally fine with me. Much more economical and environmental that way, at least as long as they live close enough to drive over to get it, but, they haven't yet. They both have a hand mixer, which I bought them, when they moved into their own places, and claim that's all they need for now. Nice to have a smaller mixer too, but...

 The mini comes in at 400, so it's got the same power and the same capabilities as the art as the classic does mostly, but it's about 50 dollars more, so if the size of it is necessary for you, then definitely. This is an awesome investment. It's made for people who like have small kitchens and people who are off to university in college. If you want to continue your baking when you head out there, it's definitely the perfect gift

 so it's a little bit smaller than all the other ones. but let's check it out in comparison with the classic because the classic is what it's compared to. Not the artisan, which is kind of weird artisan mini, but compared to the classic, not the artisan, let's see what that means. I'm turning that on low, and while that's mixing, I'm going to add my warmed ingredients here

 Empire red is apparently this color and it says that it can make up to five a dozen cookies. On first glance it's itty bitty. I'm gonna grab the classic so we can compare the sizes, but also here if we unlock that. We've got the whisk so it comes with the three different attachments and the whisk here

No handle on the bowl

 * The power switch knob thing is basically unusable if you're a lefty. Don't ask me how the heck they managed this, but it glides perfectly fine with almost no effort if I use my right hand and not at all (without difficulty and changing the angle my hand moves) with my left.  Pros: * Unlike my 5-quart bowl lift (KV25G0X), this one does *not* sound like an airplane taking off with a rock stuck in the engine. It's much quieter, like my old classic tilt-head model that finally died a few years ago

 * Unlike the bowl lift model, this one can perfectly handle creaming a single stick of butter to start a recipe, and the flex-edge beater is AWESOME at getting ingredients fully mixed. I just have to stop and scrape the sides (mostly the bottom) once or twice instead of multiple times. (Can you tell I'm not impressed with the bowl-lift one?) * It's just the right size for a single batch of cookie dough, casserole for a 9x9 pan, or 1-2 loaf bread recipe; perfect for an individual, smaller kitchen, or if you're like me, for smaller batches that your bigger mixer can't handle. (I don't typically do yeast dough so that's 1-2 loaves of pumpkin or banana bread

)  In addition to the quality issues above, my biggest pet peeve is the design of the flex head beater in regards to being able to clean it thoroughly. There are defined, poorly-smoothed seams where the rubber portion is sealed over the metal (?) beater. They're a pain to clean and require taking a scrubbing brush to them to ensure all the batter is gone. I'm kind of okay with that in tradeoff for how well they mix, though, and they're still easier to clean than any of the blades in my food processor

I was amazed at how well this smaller version of the Kitchenaid Artisan mixed even my large batch of M&M Cookie recipe of 5 dozen this past week. The smaller size of the mixer was perfect for my very, narrow countertop as I am no longer able to lift the larger mixer up from the under cabinets to the work surface. This smaller version of the Kitchenaid Artisan mixer is great and did not disappoint!!!!

 it's a decent size for small batches. Kitchen aid could improve the design by simply elongating the head, which would mean you could use a larger bowl.

The mini is fantastic!

 The mixer whips up the cookie dough very quickly and efficiently. There is just a hint of a struggle with the thickest doughs, but not much. I am only mentioning it because I want to give a fair review, and it is definitely not a problem. I am also impressed that no flour is left on the sides or bottom of the bowl
