 It works pretty well but no better than my old mixer that wasn't a KitchenAid. A stiff cookie dough like snickerdoodles will start riding up the beaters and you have to scrape it down.

Watch out for stainless steel coating on bowl

 I am very happy with the purchase. The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars is that I didn't realize I would not get the mixing bowl with the built in handle. I suppose this was my error, but all other models displayed showed this bowl and I assumed this one would also include it. All in all, this is one tough mixer

I have mixed double batches of cookie batter, bread and cinnamon roll recipes and this mixer didn't even seems stressed with the thicker batters. I am very happy with the purchase. I chose KitchenAid after trying other stand mixers. Other models were not built to stand up to large volume mixing like this model. I tried other brands that would bounce across the counter when I tried to cream a pound of butter. This machine can manage anything I toss into it

Great price - standard KitchenAid Mixer

 This is a higher-end mixer and should have a flat beater from which the plastic coating doesn't crack off. Better yet, a stainless steel beater..

Would have given 5 stars, except for the flat beater.

Misleading information!

 My only (and very minor complains, or "suggestions" would be a better term) are: The power/speed switch is a bit off-feeling. It's got a firm click, but doesn't really seem to line up with the speeds, you have to listen to and watch the motor speed directly. Also, the mixing mechanism-bowl isn't quite that tight. There is often flour or batter that comes up the side of the bowl that the mixing elements simply don't hit

It's great, and built like a tank

I would give 5 stars BUT...

You need the pouring spout and handle....trust me!

No handle on the bowl!!

 Even with the tilt lock on it still bounces up and down about a 1/2 inch. Customer servce contacted me after a review on the kitchen aid website and had me adjust the mixer head a little higher and it solved all the problems.
