We wish that its bowl had a handle, and a bowl-lift (rather than a tilt-head) design would have been nice, but those are small concessions given its affordable price.

Our previous favorite aced every test, whipping, creaming, and kneading quickly and thoroughly to give us fluffy whipped cream and meringue; light, tender cakes; and chewy, rustic breads. We did have a few design quibbles: We'd prefer a handled bowl (KitchenAid sells stainless-steel or glass bowls with handles separately). The tilt-head latch works fine, but it's slightly less convenient than buttons on other models, and we disliked that you could operate it with the head unlocked. A major plus: It fits all KitchenAid attachments, from meat grinder to ice cream maker (sold separately), so it could stand in for several other appliances.

There's one thing you should know: The Kitchenaid Classic comes in the Kitchenaid Classic and also the Kitchenaid Classic. Plus, the difference between the two is supposed to be that the Classic has a 250 watt motor and the Classic Plus has a 275 watt motor

 It doesn't seem like a lot, but when you're dealing with heavy dough, that extra power does make a big difference on this mixer. The controls are very basic. On the left side, you got a speed control that goes from zero to ten. Basically zero is off obviously and ten is maximum speed

 That's insane. I mean every single one of these attachments to me is overpriced. But even at that price, there's a couple that I might still consider getting anyway, just because dedicated devices for that are really, really expensive. Also, one is the meat grinder, and the other just because it's going to be that pasta press

How can i become such a master baker as the r/baking users if I'm not ready to spend over 40 $ ?

 Began making artisan sourdough earlier this year and the lugs on the bowl that connect it to the cap screw base failed. Now the bowl won't stay in place for ANY mixing job at all and the bowl part is constantly our of stock at KitchenAid and parts retailers. So this beautiful, fully functioning mixer can't mix, and can't be fixed apparently. Not sure what to do

Bowl Lugs and Cap Screw no good

 So what I'm going to do before I start the review is wash the bowl a couple more times and hopefully that'll get off the residue so none of it will come off in my food. I Have reviewed a couple of other KitchenAid stand mixers and if you want to see those reviews, I've put links to them in the description below.  I'll put the dough VOC on will mix this at speed 2 for a minute and now we'll add more flour. If the dough is tikki, makes for another 2 minutes and then the dough should be clinging to the hook and the sides of the bowl should be clean. After that, you'll need it for 2 more minutes. So we'll go to speed

Hi Guys today! I'm reviewing the Kitchenaid Classic Stand Mixer. It's the least expensive KitchenAid mixer that you can buy. It usually retails for about $349 without any coupons or sales, but right now it's at $189 maybe because of the holiday season. The unit comes in black and white

I've been baking my whole life and very rarely use my hand mixer. Mostly because I'm too lazy to drag it out and plug it in, but I've found that with what I make (cakes, cookies, tarts) it's very rarely needed. Note: I do use it for meringues and the like, because I'm not a crazy person. However, I've noticed that there's this attitude on recipe sites and even here that baking completely by hand isn't ideal. Take creaming butter and sugar. Most blogs say you need to beat it on high speed for a while to get a decent cake. From childhood to now, I just vigorously hand beat it until fluffy and it turns out perfect. And  I feel there's just this general attitude that either ranges from "Nope you absolutely need a hand mixer at least" to "Ehhhhh, I guess you *can* mix by hand if you really want".


What do y'all think, do you think a Kitchenaid and the like is a must for a a casual home baker?

DAE think that stand/hand mixers are not all that necessary?

 Makes me not want to use it. I also do not like how the whisk doesn't reach to the bottom/curvature of the metal bowl. Nothing can get fully mixed that way! On the whole I'd say it might be alright for big jobs, but otherwise I will stick to my hand mixer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is the first Kitchenaid stand mixer I have owned. It's HEAVY! Moving it from storage to counter is a chore. Makes me not want to use it. I also do not like how the whisk doesn't reach to the bottom/curvature of the metal bowl

Not what I expected

KitchenAid Classic Plus Stand Mixer Review and Demo

 Glad to see Kitchenaid stands by its products. It should be noted that for the two times that it did work I loved the performance as mixing was a breeze. It made baking enjoyable.

Since it was after hours and a holiday customer service was unavailable. The warranty had just expired by CS notified me it was still within the grace period so a replacement will be sent.  It just goes on like that. Really easy. One great thing about the tilt head is the till the head really comes up off away from the bowl. So if you need to add things or anything like that it makes it really easy and we're going to here's your bowl

 It is definitely smaller than what I am used to. So what? This mixer Being a tilt head, What you basically do is you push this lever right here and the head of the mixer comes up and here is your whip. It just goes on like that. Really easy
