Another option would be the ThinkPad E14 with similar specs. All are pretty similar in terms of specs, and all seem to generally meet my needs. However, the ThinkPads do seem a bit more reliable and durable, while the Yoga Slim 7's battery and performance seems better and it looks nicer.

For instance, my daily driver is a Lenovo Thinkpad E14. I have read lots of horror stories about it (like the laptop dying randomly, mousepad not working, or the laptop not being able to execute games), however, mine works like a charm and I am very happy with it. My advice: ignore (a little bit) some of those horror stories you see online, check reviews from sites such as Notebookcheck, and be sure your laptop has a nice warranty (for instance, I bought mine with 3 years warranty, but I'd say 1 year should be the minimum).

The Lenovo Thinkpad E14 and the Lenovo Legion Y540. Now obviously the y540 has a greater TDP and a discrete GPU, while the E14 has a U series processor with integrated graphics. The reason for my dilemma is the battery backup and the portable form factor. The Legion has a 9th gen cpu which isnt too much of a problem but it was also bothering me slightly because i was buying 2 year old hardware.

After weeks of research and watching tech videos, I am struck between:. \*Lenovo Thinkpad E14 - 4700u, 8GB, 512GB SSD NvME.\* - The exterior is 'meh' but ram is upgradable.
