 The TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS comes with a floral rubber strap as standard, as you can see they're not particularly exciting but should prove nice and comfortable to wear, especially if you're exercising and getting your sweat on, all of that. Otherwise, as I say, quickly and easily rip these buggers out, get a new one on there, a bit of a leather action if you're about to hit the town, a stainless steel bracelet, whatever you fancy. And I have to say that sometimes these straps can be a real bugger to get on and off, can be really really fiddly indeed, especially if you chew your fingernails like I do, but these ones are actually surprisingly easy to get the grips with. You do actually get weather information directly the Google feed as well as calendar info all that good stuff and you can of course as usual turn on voice detection for that assistant as well I won't actually say the words because I'll be activating everyone's assistant back home and then if you swipe this way you've got access to of course those tiles which you can fully set up as I showed you before basically just widgets for your various apps

 So that right there in a nutshell is Mobvoi's fresh new TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS. I've completely lost count of how many times I f***ed up that name during the shooting of this video let me tell you.  And speaking of your apps it's a quick tap of this top button here that brings up the apps panel quite a lot of stuff packed on here to begin with including all the usual Mobvoi Tic apps as you can see there lots of exercise tracking you've got the likes of TicZen to help you chill out and then you've got the usual Google shenanigans including calendars alarms timers more health tracking of course obviously the hand washing app in case you still need help washing your hands after a global pandemic and if you dive into the TicWatch's settings you can actually see what app this bottom button is a shortcut for by default it's TicExercise which just allows you to as you see there track your various fitness shenanigans you got support for over 20 different types of exercise all of the major stuff as you can see there swimming jogging cycling and mountaineering all of the exercises that I do my level best to avoid on a daily basis and just use an outdoor walk-in as an example as you can see there you can keep track of the distance covered your current pace how long you've been walking for you do have full GPS support on here as well which uses five separate global navigation satellite systems and then at the end you get a big fat summary of everything you've been up to and whether it's actually been worthwhile and all of the usual health stuff you get on smartwatches it's all present and correct basically here on the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS including 24-7 heart rate monitoring and SPO2 the blood oxygen monitoring you do need to turn on that 24-hour monitoring though because otherwise as you can see there it is deactivated by default and the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS can even track your heart rhythm as well and if it notices any abnormalities and give you a bit of a nudge say hey maybe you might want to go to a doctor's and get that checked out and one of the fresh new features here on the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS is the mental fatigue tracking so apparently if you've been wearing it for a while it can come to learn exactly how knackered you are up top and it can also monitor your daily energy levels as well and just basically give you a bit of a heads up when you've been working a little bit too hard maybe it's time to go and lie on a beach somewhere and sip booze out of a coconut so an impressive range of functionality overall and then of course if you want to download more apps just dive on into the play store you've got full wi-fi support here on the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS so you can actually download apps directly through the watch you don't have to go via your smartphone and you've got eight gigs of storage here on the TicWatch as well for all of your apps and also media as well if you want to download songs and the like. As for the performance well the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS is powered by Qualcomm's fresh new Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus as also found in the fresh new FossilGen 6 watch and basically bugger all else. You've also got a gig of RAM on there as well which is plenty for a smartwatch and certainly so far the performance seems absolutely flawless. I've noticed a couple of little stumbles when I was first setting up the watch and uh flicking around I think that was just because it was downloading stuff in the background certainly now that it's had a couple of hours to sort of settle it's been absolutely fine

 I called again at 12:06pm. I was talking to a human in under a minute who was polite and understanding and informed me she would be sending me the warranty procedure right away.

  So, pros and cons from my short time with this watch"  Pros: - Look and feel - It is a nice looking watch with a big face and low profile. - Screen resolution - Answering calls was nice, but not a deal breaker  Cons: - Set up, this could have been an issue just for me but it did not give a first impression - GPS tracking was not accurate - Water rating - This wasn't a deal breaker but a few of its competitors have better ratings - The need to run two apps (Wear OS and Mobvoi) is a bit clumsy and disconnected.  I'm giving it a middle of the road rating as it just didn't work out and make great first impressions for me.

 It was shipped and received promptly so that was good. Then I ran into the issues. I have a Google Pixel that I was pairing to so I thought that the Wear OS would sync right away, unfortunately that was not the case. After roughly three hours, many resets, deleting and reloading the apps I was able to connect

  Having encountered these issues in the first three days soured my opinion and I decided to return and look to a Garmin equivalent (Venu 2). We'll see how that turns out.  The first activity was kayaking, There was not a specific kayak sport in the activity list so I selected rowing. I was surprised that this activity did not use the GPS rather it only tracked the time.  I then used it for a bike ride and the GPS was enabled when using that activity feature. After stopping the activity when I returned home it took quite a while to sync with the third party Strava app

I wanted to like this watch

 I mean not that i want to pay more for a watch, but if it costs more money to make a more premium watch, then i'm all for it. If you're gon na call it the pro ultra, i think that would be the move to do, but i think really. Essentially, the motive of this watch is to stretch the battery life as long as possible, while still giving you the smoothest, fastest, wear os experience. It'S kind of intended to be like a flagship killer and when you make a flagship killer, you have to compromise on some things, so they have durability, they have water resistance, they have a fantastic interior for this watch, great operating system, great new features and the compromises They really made were the build materials being more plasticky, which means that it doesn't look quite as good as some other watches and the health tracking was not quite as cutting edge as something like samsung, but other than that

 Even though this is water resistant has great durability, i would still say that if you want to call it a pro 3 ultra, i would much rather see this made out of a solid aluminum body or a solid like titanium, just any material. That is not just a basic plastic it. It feels a little bit cheaper and i think that maybe they could have called this like the tick watch 4 or the tick watch pro 4, and i think that would have been a much better idea now with that being said, let's actually get into that speaker And microphone test now to see how well they actually perform, tell me a story once upon a time there were people who dreamt of a better world, then they woke up and started to build it.  I believe, like it, had the right distance. It had the right time uh, just the math here, which is completely wrong, and you can see like step frequency step. Length was all over the place. But when you go down to my lap records uh, those are actually relatively accurate is about you know those average out to about an 8 30 pace and then looking at the the graph right here, the gps again seemed reasonably accurate

 But my first complaint ties in with the naming, besides just sounding like a kind of strange name, the pro 3 ultra. I would say that, if you're going to call something a pro ultra like you need to really be the best of the best, i would say that you can even compromise and make it a higher price and make sure you have the best build materials. Even though this is water resistant has great durability, i would still say that if you want to call it a pro 3 ultra, i would much rather see this made out of a solid aluminum body or a solid like titanium, just any material. Android's Fastest Smartwatch? (NEW TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra)

Hello /r/WearOS!  I just received my TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS and wanted to give my first impressions.  This thing is fresh out of the box and I've only worn it for about an hour.  I want to just focus on initial impressions from my first ~2 hours of use.  All photos are available on the Google Photos link here:

So, I'm a bit finicky and picky with my smart watches.  Not all of these I kept, I've returned some of these after using them for a little while as I can't find an Android-compatible watch I've truly ever loved.  When I use an iPhone, I only use the Apple Watch.  It is truly the best option for iOS users and I personally would not recommend any iPhone user to use a WearOS watch

The watch looks decent on my wrist, but I have medium-sized wrists. Honestly, this is probably the largest watch I would ever use.  I purchased (and returned) a Fossil Latitude Hybrid HR watch (50mm) because it was just too big and heavy on my wrists.  Some people love huge watches, but I do not; I prefer the lighter watches because I wear my watches 24/7 other than to charge

I will provide a more detailed review later after I've had some time to play around and wear it, including steps and exercises (I lift weights at my local gym and ride a NordicTrack S22i Studio Cycle indoor bike at home daily).  I have had issues with non-Apple watches reading my heart rate incorrectly once sweat gets involved, including the TicWatch Pro 3 (not the Ultra), so that will be interesting to test.

 With all monitoring on - you get less than a days battery life.  4. You can't deactivate the "lift-wrist" to active backlight on the secondary screen - so you continually wake up during the night to a bright light shining in your eyes - a problem if you're a light sleeper.  5

  6. Google assistant doesn't work on key word detection at all, you have to manually activate it.  7. Connection isn't consistent - I find I'm often not connected to my phone, and can only re-connect by restarting the watch (something I figured out via google)

Potential to be good, hopefully some improvement with Wear OS3

 Recently Mobvoi reached out to me and sent me the Ticwatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS and asked me to do a comparison between their newest smartwatches. Since I have a lot of experience with their brand, it sounded like a perfect match. So let's check out the 3 Ultra and see if this is worth the jump in price from the Pro. First things first, we need to get this out of the way

 I noticed with my TicWatch Pro 3, these watches are strong. You can hit these with a truck and they don't show a scratch, which I'm really impressed with. You have Bluetooth 5.0 in the Ultra, a 577mAh battery, which is one of the largest batteries we have on a smartwatch to date

 One of their displays is an AMOLED screen, and the other is an FSTN display, which is a fancy way of saying LCD. The screen is also glassed over with a Corning Gorilla anti-fingerprint cover. I noticed with my TicWatch Pro 3, these watches are strong. You can hit these with a truck and they don't show a scratch, which I'm really impressed with

The Ticwatch Pro 3 & Ultra - One Year Later

  I would *not* recommend this watch if you already have the TicWatch Pro 3, unless you really want the higher mil-spec case and stress monitoring.

  Not a huge con since I do not track every rep/machine I do, but it would be nice to get the calorie tracking benefits.  As for indoor biking, the watch tracks my heart rate and calories but nothing else.  No cadence tracking, nor the ability to link any third-party hardware such as a cadence tracker or heart rate monitor.  Not a huge deal since my bike has all of that hardware built-in, but wanted to note that for others

 I actually like that there is only a single free loop and I like that it has a lug to lock.  What I don't like about the band is that the holes are spread out a little more than I'd like.  It's hard to get a perfect fit, but a decent fit it does provide.  Overall the band is very comfortable

 I find myself just using Google fit instead which I don't want to? If TicWatch has it's own app if prefer to use that. The battery life is good. I charge it every time I shower. It's never gotten below 50% after an entire day use with 24hr tracking

 The pace by tracker for sure needs updating because when I was walking casually, the watch said I was going 15mph and during my runs it said I was going 7min mile pace which I know I wasn't doing. The distance tracker is alright, it tracks more than your actual distance, sometimes by .10mi and I know this since I compared it with other running apps and an apple watch. Pedometer is interesting, I don't think it really tracks steps, instead it tracks what feels like a step

 I sit at work all day and move my arms often so I think it tracks those movements as steps. The Mobvoi app needs updating as well. I find myself just using Google fit instead which I don't want to? If TicWatch has it's own app if prefer to use that. The battery life is good

I want to love it but

 Mobvoi claim that they use a modified 4100 which can still benefit from this feature and also is slightly overclocked up to 2GHz for smoother experience. So far this watch sounds like a fantastic hardware pack because it features some of the best technologies in the end of 2021 and definitely we expect nothing but great performance. But it's already a reality here and that's mostly thanks to the FSTN display because I use this one as the always on display option. And everything else was on, sleep tracking, HR tracking, step counter, occasional sports with GPS on, the mental health, the heart health and all these new features that Mobvoi have brought in the smartphone app, they were on and the battery life was still good

 If I may summarize all the negatives in just one short list, I'll definitely start with a steps counter and double check the latest updates of the watch because this may have been well fixed already. The lack of some customizations on WearOS, no blood pressure monitor, the lack of easy file transfer from and to the watch, the usage of WearOS 2.0 at the launch. I was really hoping to see the third generation, but given all the good specs, the fantastic performance, the nice design and the overall feature pack, this continues to be not only a great deal at this price, it continues to be one of the best choices for getting a truly smartwatch, which when needed may turn into a fitness tracker and have its battery lasting up to 30 days

 Definitely not cheap, but it can do a lot more than Huawei Watch 3 series, is much smarter than Amazfit's competitors and can even act as a good and durable alternative if you play it smart with the workout settings. Unboxing is, as usual, causing some smiles because MobVoy, they've always been good about product presentations. So this one here is likeable, you can immediately see the watch, it's a step away from the design of the predecessors, this is a surprise, to me at least, and a welcomed one since I like the new look, the glass is now leveled with the bezel so there's no awkward feeling when you look at it from the side. MobVoy keep the concept of using two side buttons, for a moment I thought it might be a crown like the Huawei Watch 3, but it's not, the display seems to keep a similar shape and size

 So I guess if we compare both watches and walk you through the interfaces, they would feel entirely different devices. I think right now it's a pretty good moment to buy a WearOS watch, especially some of the latest releases because we've got a Galaxy Watch 4, we've got the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra, a really weird name and the Fosu GN6 which are kind of forming some of the best mainstream trio in WearOS ever existed. I'm gonna start with the most important, the price. It's good, it's $300, this is only $50 more than the first generation of TicWatch Pro and given the fact it's post-pandemic times with all the negative consequences, it has a lot more powerful hardware, way better software and so much better design, hats down to MobVoy for not going crazy about pricing when they add the word Ultra
