 The Monoprice headphones were definitely more comfortable, and some listeners might prefer their more laid-back tone. The WS55 headphones sell for $142 on Amazon.

  These Monoprice cans are mostly just--low. Even the cleaner mps or songs I ripped from my own cd collection just don't sound loud at all. The vocals and music are a little muddled as well.  Maybe these are great for some but for me they're just ok

  But I like big, sexy, well designed over-ear headphones.  The Sony MDR XD400s that I have are cool looking and have great sound. But the cord recently shorted all the way out on them as well. I wasn't using it as a jump rope but you'd think they'd make these damn cords able to stand up to actual physical use

Purchased to replace a pair of Sony over the ear headphones that lost sound in one side (loose wire where it goes into the headphone)  I work on computers programming 8+hrs a day and listen to music while I work. I prefer noise cancelling headphones to help drown out the chatter in an office type setting which can be distracting when you are trying to concentrate. While these are OK for noise cancellation, they don't drown out 100% of the external sounds if nothing is playing through them.  The sound is amazing compared to the Sony's I swapped them out for at half the price

I had to turn down the volume controls on my computer to about 1/2 the volume required in the Sony's to get the same volume but a much nicer sound.  The build quality of the headphones is great compared to the Sony at double the price

Awesome sound, ergonomics could use some attention. Painful to use for long periods of time

...unfortunately, like many others have said, these headphones are quite uncomfortable

 I find that I have to make some EQ adjustments when I move around genres and recording quality but I think that's a pretty reasonable expectation. Many others have gone into a much better detailed description of the sound quality which I think for the most part matches my experience with them.  This is the thing- they are SUPER uncomfortable. out of the box I was only able to withstand less than an hour of listening before I have to call it quits

 The discomfort began to get distracting to the point where I couldn't enjoy the quality of sound. There is a lot of squeezing pressure against the sides of my head, along my jawline (below my ears) and also around my ears where I presume my glasses' arms create some pressure points. I tried to stretch them out on a box overnight which brought temporary relief until the three-pronged pads on the headband began to also create pressure points on the top of my head. I tried wearing them over a beanie in an attempt to distribute the pressure with no luck

  So I take 2 stars off the total because I think ergonomics is a no-brainer consideration for headphones and I can't imagine how anyone's head could naturally find comfort with these. It's very frustrating because otherwise these would probably without a doubt be my favorite headphones for sound quality at a very affordable price.

  Sound Quality: The sound quality overall is fairly decent, and with a couple of mods, they can have a really nice sound stage. However, you might want to try to tune the bass down slightly. Excellent for music and general relaxation, for gaming, they need to be tuned. For $20 headphones, *this* is where the bang for the buck comes in, the drivers sound fairly reasonable, but for the price, they sound pretty great all around

  Noise-Cancellation: I'm in my own room, but if I were to use these outside in a noisy area, they'd function fairly well for not being labled as such. However, I've experienced real Noice Cancellation and these are not it. But they function well enough so that you can ignore that fight in the hallway while listening to 'Jet Airliner' or 'La Grange' with the volume turned up mildly.  Build Quality: This is where I'm at a loss here

After 4 months I can comfortably state that these headphones on their own are *passable*, there's been a few reviews that say these are better than $60 headphones, which to be completely honest, is a mixed bag. Based on this experience, I have updated my review to 3-stars and the support portion to a 5. I still believe the product does not work well if you have to stretch it to fit your head. Great sound but poor quality and confusing warranty support from Monoprice - Updated 3/24/2020

 They barely cover my ears however and truly are too large to be on ear. This makes them good at being sound isolating aka passive noise cancelling. However it makes them a bit uncomfortable with large ears and behind the ear hearing aids (which I have both).  Finally the bit of disappointment I experienced with finding out that both of the included cables are approximately 1 meter in length

 Audio is clear and has a pretty flat response over all bands. Comfort is lacking. If you have a not-small-head, you will quickly find that the full extension of the earpieces is lacking - and the top of the headphones will eventually dig into the top of your head (even with the "padding" they have" - which, BTW is not well attached to the plastic). Ear pressure is pretty extreme for me - it really is way too tight of a setup

Definitely low tier value/budget type headphones. Sound quality is fine - obviously not a lot of bass (simply by design). Audio is clear and has a pretty flat response over all bands. Comfort is lacking

Small heads only

 Do these headphones sound great? Yeah, absolutely. Are you going to be able to keep them long? In my experience, the best I can do is give you a "maybe." It's unfortunate, too, because these were probably my favorite headphones.  Oh, and if you do get them, you're probably going to want to replace the vinyl cups that come with them

Just received my headphones, the package was cheaper because I selected one with a damaged box (probably a return) and it is missing the cord with an in-line mic. The sound is nice and "bassey", and gets good volume. Sounds pretty good for the price. However, the headphones rotate the wrong way for DJ use
