 And that's going to be the 4XX from Massdrop. So this headphone is also built really, really well in terms of the quality of material, a lot of metal use in here. I actually consider this headphone to be a little bit more comfortable off the bat just for my head shape and size, but not everybody likes the comfort of this. So that's not a point of contention for me

 So this is an extraordinarily popular headphone and I think a lot of people watching my channel already probably own this headphone and can vouch for how good it sounds. But it provides a specific sound signature and so when you're pairing other headphones, it's best to not really have the same sound signature again and again and again and to kind of differentiate the sound signature. So you can have something with wide sound stage and narrow sound stage or something that's bassier or something that's bright or something that's mid-range focused and something that's not. And if you already have this for the price, it's just about as good as it's going to get for what it's good at

 This can kind of enhance that to a really enjoyable level. So this brings me into the conclusion of the Fidelio. While it's not a headphone that I think competes on a technical level to a lot of similar to price headphones, but if you're searching for what this headphone offers, which is not necessarily a bad thing, it just depends on the type of music you listen to and the sound signature that you prefer, this is a pretty decent option. It definitely has its limitations, but I kind of enjoy listening to this for very specific music and very specific purposes

FIDELIO X2HR Review | For you B A S S heads out there 🤯

Comfort: Heavy and clunky. These headphones feel like they’re dragging my head down as they’re so heavy.

 The much wider soundstage felt more natural, whereas the 58x sounded like the vocals were in your head. These headphones also made the 58x sound a little veiled or slightly muffled. The only kind of music I preferred the 58x to is when listening to songs where I want the vocalist to be the focal point and the instrumentation to fall back in the background. The 58x was more intimate but less 3D

  The fit was too tight, but I stretched out the metal band to loosen it a bit, and it feels more comfortable. There was a strong odor from the memory foam initially, so I aired it out. After a few days it still smelled, but less. I’m hoping the smell will eventually go away

 The soundstage was wider, and I was better able to pinpoint the location of instruments. These headphones sound much better than the 58x when listening to pop, hip hop, rock, jazz, classical and EDM. The much wider soundstage felt more natural, whereas the 58x sounded like the vocals were in your head. These headphones also made the 58x sound a little veiled or slightly muffled

  Compared to my Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee, it sounded clearer and fuller in the highs and lows. The mids weren’t as pronounced as the 58X, but it was clear. Replace the low quality interconnects that ruin the sound quality

 So I went ahead and bought them and we're gonna go ahead and unbox it and make sure that this pair of headphones live up to everything I remember about those X2s that my friend has. And there we have it, the Philips Fidelio X2s in all their glory. And we've of course got instructions, which it's a pair of headphones. I'm not sure exactly what they can instruct me on

 Now they're not a super expensive pair of headphones, but they're open back and they have a really unique sound and I love that sound. The biggest problem with those Grottos is they're not super comfortable and the build quality is just, they don't feel nice in the hand. So what I'm looking for is something that's, you know, maybe not exactly the same sound as a Grotto, but similar. I want something open back, I want something more comfortable, and I want something that's built better just so it feels nicer to use

 I watched a number of reviews on these headphones, including some from some really serious audio files, and they give it good marks. Now, I'm cheating a little bit in that my friend has a pair of these headphones and I've already listened to them, I've already verified that I like these headphones enough to buy them. So I went ahead and bought them and we're gonna go ahead and unbox it and make sure that this pair of headphones live up to everything I remember about those X2s that my friend has. And there we have it, the Philips Fidelio X2s in all their glory

 They're just not as elevated as they are in the Grottos. That makes for, I think, a much more relaxing listen on these versus the Grottos. Just those highs, mids, and especially the elevated highs, they really do kind of, it's almost a grating sound, but I for some reason like it. It's just the contrast and the audio that I really like in the Grottos

Here is a peek at the hole you wonderful bastards have torn into my wallet. My first step into the headphone world came when I was tired of listening to the sub $30 Sony buds. They were not bad, but I was looking for a bit of clarity. So I searched headphones on reddit and found this world. I was initially looking for good sound under $100 and ended up with the Sony MDR 7506s. Huge improvement and opened my ears to what quality sound is, but a few months later I felt an itch and it would not go away. I found myself incessantly reading and watching headphone reviews, in search of the perfect sound for 500 bucks or so and before I knew it the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 pro’s were in my hand along with something called Schiit.  Anyways, mind blown and I would never need another can EVER. But THEN decided to find a step down can with closed back I could use in the office and purchased the DT 770 pro 32 Ohm. Good can, but I only listen to it when I have to. Finally done. But THEN there was a lot of talk about the Philips Fidelio X2hR and they were on sale for Black Friday, so why not—Wiiiiiiiide sounds stage and very clear but, for all the talk, there seems to be a mid-range chasm I was a bit underwhelmed and wanted a warmer signature than I currently owned. So a few months later I dropped a couple hundred on the HD6xx, which took a while to come but MAN those cans rule and make a nice compliment to the 1990 pros. Last week I decided to end the madness and go for the cans I always wanted but could not justify paying for. I decided to just pay for them and now am a broke owner of the Audeze LCD-2s. phenomenal sound and those things respond incredibly well to EQ. I think with EQ I am at the end of my road and now will save up for a better amp. I am thinking of diving into the tube amp world and am currently Eyeing the DarkVoice 336SE. Would anyone recommend or have any other suggestions for \~$300 price range that could compliment this collection?

 Also, the bass was severely lacking in the philips headphones. The anker headphones had a bit more bass, and the skull candy set kind of was even between bass, mids, and highs. I listen to traditional country and that music isn't that bass heavy to begin with. However, these philips headphones are going back because of the lack of bass and especially for the low volume

 I tested these headphones with 2 pairs of wired headphones, an anker life q20 and a skull candy grind listening to the same song on my iPhone 8 and at the same volume. I noticed wright away compared to the anker and the skull candy set without changing the volume on my iPhone how low the Philips headphones were.  This is because of the poor sound. I'm not an audio snob by any means, but I do own a lot of headphones both wired and bluetooth.  Pads are nice and large and thick and should fit about anybody's ears. Where I have a problem is when you put them on the suspension strap does a really good job up top eliminating any stress on top of the head. I do not have any issues with hot spots or anything of the sort. Because of these metal rods they're really hard to bend and to get the right fit for me and I get a lot pressure right here and I have a gap above my ears

 They do at times overpower a little bit of the details and and the preciseness with all the excitement of the bass that you can get in gaming but for the most part these are a fun immersive headphone for gaming but for for music I I don't find them to be pleasurable. Those mids are just too far recessed and the bass just doesn't have enough details and clarity for me and that treble is a little too sharp and a little too aggressive and a little too energetic for my pleasure. I really really wanted to enjoy the Fidelio X2 HR's from Philips but these have been a disappointment and I can't recommend them. I believe that there is better out there for similar price tags or cheaper and go with a Sivga

 It's got a warmer tint to it but it's slow in decay and it has a boominess to it and you don't get a whole lot of details and clarity. It has details and clarity you just don't get everything in it because it kind of blooms everything together. The treble is shouty and energetic and especially in the lower treble you can get a little bit of sharpness and a little bit too much aggressiveness with the details. They can kind of be a little bit piercing to my ears

 I can wear them in a slightly alternate way where the band is more on the back of my head which lets me wear them for much longer but I almost returned them due to the comfort issue.  Overall, I’d honestly recommend the 50mm version because it looks like it would have better comfort, but if you think this one would fit well for you it’s a good headset upgrade.

 The included mic is also a bonus, but I ended up ordering a third party mic since my PC has separate input and output cables.  My biggest issue with these is that if I just put them on the way I want them to sit on my head they create tons of pressure on the top of my head and it becomes unbearable after a while. I can wear them in a slightly alternate way where the band is more on the back of my head which lets me wear them for much longer but I almost returned them due to the comfort issue.  Overall, I’d honestly recommend the 50mm version because it looks like it would have better comfort, but if you think this one would fit well for you it’s a good headset upgrade

I Own a pair of Philips Fidelio X2HR's, and I really like the sound. They're pretty comfy too.

I recently purchased a boom arm for my Rode microphone so I no longer need a mic from a gaming headset. So I am wondering, will non-gaming headphones be just as good in sound quality for gaming compared to a gaming brand? I have a budget of about 200 euro max so I would like to get a quality pair.
