 These Remo heads don't tune to well and kinda have a cheap sound. Good for beginners but for someone who knows what they are doing WOULD NOT use these. Btw, the coating came off within a month.

I get these cause they are durable 2 ply.. When the top layer breaks you can still go on for a little while. They sound good enough tune easy and the price is right it's cheaper to just go get them at than store than have them delivered to you

I have tried all the 14" coated heads for my snare and i just keep coming back to this. I have had issues with evans heads breaking just from tuning them, aquarian are just very expensive and not any better. this head just sounds great everytime.

 Its a dual ply head which makes it quite durable and the coating as well of course gives it more so. Ive used the Emperor X, this head plus black dot making it even more durable, cheap single ply none coated and Evans G1, single ply coated. I like the tones you can get out of this more than any of them. Good range of tunings as well

Look for the crown or frown.

 WOW!!! is a dramatic difference. Bought a new Pearl kit, came with the generic heads, played them a little until the Remo's arrive, and the sound of the Remo's are 1000% better. With Remo's, the tuning is easier. Only rated it 5 stars because the scale goes no higher
