The Saris H3 Direct Drive packs a lot of performance for its price point. It's probably closer to top-shelf bike trainer specs and performance, but it's hundreds less than the most expensive trainers. Saris reduced the price of the H-series with the release of the H3, bringing you a more affordable, high-quality trainer. It features a new motor design that improves its handling of power changes and requirements, so your sprinting, climbing, and ERG training are even smoother. The accuracy remains at a solid +/- 2%, but improvements have reduced drop-outs and spikes, so the overall accuracy is actually better in the H3 than in previous iterations. And it's the quietest trainer in our lineup, with a claimed noise level of 59 dB, though we measured it even lower, at 55 dB. Honestly, it's one of the nicest trainers on the market and has a prettier price than the competition. 
It's not all sunshine and rainbows, though. You don't get the H3's level of performance without a lot of dense machinery inside. It's a heavy thing, coming in at nearly 50 pounds. Even the hulkiest cyclist will find it to be a pain when moving the trainer around. It's also worth pointing out that it requires periodic calibration to remain accurate. That's pretty common for bike trainers, but a few competitors out there have machines that don't need it even once. The folks who will get the best use of the Saris H3 are riders who are serious about training indoors and want to save a little money without much sacrifice in performance or convenience.

99. Look that's an interesting move by saris and that really positions the top range trainer in the mid-range bracket, which I think should have some positive impact on the rest of the market. Ok now for the details: let's get this thing unboxed and put to the test in the llama lab: [, Music, ], [, Music, ], [, Music, ], okay, here's the h3 unit and a Kip grid of everything that comes with. So we have the manuals to throw axial conversion kits their power supply and a little pigtail, the small riser block and some movie access switching this unit over to throw axle because by the hop that comes with a quick place: [, Music, ], okay, now here's the Problem with the thru-axle, I can't actually turn it on to my bike and lock it in

 So there we are the saris h3 trainer, quieter, cheaper hammer, oh and don't forget to subscribe to this channel to support what I'm up to thanks for watching you've got the hiccups. Oh mum time mum times you hear that I've been babysitting while trying to record this. Didn'T quite work: 

 This unit could improve on, but I'd like to say the power accuracy more in line with the a steamers and the other parameters that I tested against, especially in those sim mode, steady state, climbs the Sprint's. Well, look if 50 to 60 watts in a spirit is of a concern of you for eSports or erasing. You probably should have a power meter on the bike anyway, but it would be nice for those to be just squeezed down a little bit to be more accurate. I'Ll call a spade a spade for those cadence issues, it's just simply undercooked and it misrepresents what you're doing on the pedals

 You really have to get on top of the gear to spin that thing up and put out some maximum wattage, so that was welcomed. The ERG mode resistance changes were smooth, both transitioning in and out, probably one of the best trainers. I'Ve tested for those 350 to 450 watt over-unders with the llama lab test, you'll see the data in a moment, but that was absolutely brilliant. The way it transitioned in and out for those ERG mode, overs and unders, the steady-state ERG mode component of the llama lab test, which was 10 minutes at 210 minutes at 250, was nice and smooth, but just a little bit jerky on the pedals

 Adding the cassette - easy. Did my first ride within 30 mins of unboxing. The feel of the ride was VERY real. It felt like riding outside and power reading matched perfectly to my outdoor numbers

 This is pretty beefy and I'm noticing here it's got this little push button. I bet you yeah. You can adapt how this connects up, so you could get that looks almost like a computer wire. So that's interesting if you needed an extension, I bet you can run one but anyways

 So I've got the trainer out placed down where I'm going to be, which is right by a nice drafty window and drafty door. Opening to my house so perfect place where I don't need a fan. Basically, I put down the trainer. I'Ve got my little wheel block for the front at this point

 So this should be pretty simple: we'll go ahead and get everything set up here, so it caught my heart rate. Pretty quick got my controllable trainer, real, quick as well. I'M not sure why I say in no signal, but let's go ahead and hit search. Yes, we want the hammer, click, okay, done, that's nice and connected

 Basically, I put down the trainer. I'Ve got my little wheel block for the front at this point. All we got to do is really just go ahead and plug in our power adapter. The power adapter goes in on the non-drive side

Great piece of kit

 I purchased 2 of these, and the two bikes installed on them finnaly we have resolved the issues with the gears. Again the problem still in how bad are the instructions that came with the equipment and the ones in the website. We are enjoying the trainers

 Any cheap product from China comes with better instructions. I have to ask others riders about setting the equipment up. Issues with the power cord

 No issues thus far with any rides. Realistically replicates the gradient on many of the climbs I’ve ridden in Europe. Would recommend and would buy again.
