Sennheiser HD 600

The last thing that I want to say here before I go is I do want to say something about the price here. $400 this is an excellent headphone $400 might ...

This is the fourth one I've bought new since 2018. It's still a wonderful headphone. It's still a highly enjoyable headphone

They are a very, very solid pair of headphones and they do something very unique.

I use the 6xx for \~gaming\~ pretty much just because they’re the most comfortable. There’s a reason that “gaming headphones” generally sound like ass and no one cares (or knows). Because gaming headphones don’t have to sound great to be useful. As soon as you’re focusing on the game, the sound quality (as long as there isn’t absurd masking going on) doesn’t really matter.

Despite the ones I own, I find myself wearing Sennheiser HD600 the most often... Mostly because my Focal Clear Pro's are on a warranty within the 1st month due to hidden issues with the quality control. Regardless of that, the HD600/650 line is just brilliant and the price is spot-on.

Decent stage, good imaging, great resolution, GREAT tuning. With most headphones I feel like only part of the music is in focus, with the clear every little detail is where it is supposed to be. The bass is engaging and has a great slam. Compared to a neutral reference like the K612 or even the HD 600 it sounds a little darker, but still very natural.

I currently own and adore the Sennheiser HD600, but I'm looking for headphones that don't necessarily replace these headphones but instead provide me with a different lens to listen to my music with. I power my HD600 with the Fiio Btr5 (Thanks Dankpods!) at my desktop using Tidal. I listen to all types of music genres, primarily jazz, rock, electronic, folk/vocal heavy, video game/movie/anime OST, alternative, hip hop/rap, Etc.
