5 The good news is that this lenses bokeh is really quite smooth. certainly far better than its inexpensive smaller brother Sigma's 10 to 20 millimeter F/4 25.6 lens. Overall, this more expensive Sigma lens yield some punchy images, and the maximum aperture of F 3

 It's one of the more expensive lenses in this market segment, costing about 400 pounds or 560 US dollars, but it ought to be a really nice product. Ultra wide-angle lenses are fun to use and handy. This lenses zoom range ends at 20 millimeter, which is quite a wide angle, but zooms all the way out to 10 millimeter, which is very wide indeed. the full-frame equivalent of 16 millimeter that's wide enough for getting huge landscape vistas, as well as capturing the whole image

 The middle of its images are great, but those corners really are important on any wide-angle lens, and they just turned out to be a bit poor in this case. Well, let's move on and look at distortion and vignette ink. At 10 millimeter, we see some pretty notable barrel distortion, which is another disappointment. I Hate barrel distortion

I'm returning it, only because its autofocus just doesn't hold up to all of my Canon lenses.  Now, that being said, for $400, if you want a good solid lens with a loud autofocus, I'd buy this in a heartbeat

It's accurate, a bit slow compared to Canon lenses, but fast enough if you have time to wait. When I say it's slow, it's much faster than my entry level Canon & Tamron lenses

Fast & Sharp, but not what I need (AF "clanky")

 This is much much better than the like than the 17 to 50 in terms of autofocus noise, but it's still not as good as some of the nicer Canon lenses. Now in terms of other things like you know, chromatic aberrations, sharpness, things like that, I will say this lens is really, really sharp. I'm actually very impressed by it. Now, I'm not the kind of guy to like Pixel Peep or you know, look super close in the corners

 Um, yeah. so uh. that wraps up my thoughts on the 10 to 20 millimeter. I honestly I really like this lens

 I should say. So basically at the end of the day what it really comes down to is your budget. If you are kind of looking for a lens, you know, for like two thousand dollar lens. Obviously, you're not going to be looking at this and obviously you're going to be expecting much

Using a Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 in 2022

 I also brought a 50mm, 17-200mm, and a 28-70mm. On my 7d, the shots were pretty clear with no huge issues in quality toward the outside of the photos. Wide angled photos do have some blurring, but this lens wasn't any worse than anything else in the category. For the price, it's great, but it's plastic, and mine broke (kind-of)

I bought this lens for a trip to Hawaii, and got all of the great shots I could ask for. In fact, I used this lens the most out of the four I brought. I also brought a 50mm, 17-200mm, and a 28-70mm. I've had two Sigma lenses go bad on me now (the second after I ordered this to replace the first, or I would not have ordered it). On both lenses, the aperture petals become sticky over time. When I took the first one in for repair, Sigma told the shop that they no longer had parts for that lens. The lens was only 3 years old

 This one is OK so far, but is only about 2 years old. I think I am done with Sigma, however. Sad because they used to be fantastic after-market lenses. Obviously they've developed a problem keeping the barrels sealed properly

So I was in the market for a wide angle. I thought I would give this one a go to see if I could accomplish my goals and save some major buckaroos. Sad to say this lens fulfills the adage, you get what you pay for. It's nice and wide but doesn't have the crispness that I was looking for and had to go back

Well, I thought I would give it a try...

 Today I did some testing between this lens and theSony DT 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 Aspherical ED Super Wide Angle Zoom Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR Camera . From the results I obtained, this Sigma lens is clearly the better of the two

  I contacted Amazon, and they said I could definitely return the lens and order again, but they could give no guarantee that I would receive the newer model.  I contacted Adorama directly, asking if they could guarantee that I would get the newer model if I order from them, but I did not hear back from them all day, so I'm still hanging on that one.  I've looked carefully on the Amazon, Adorama, BHphoto, and 47thStreet Web sites, and there is NOTHING in any of the product descriptions that talk about compatibility with certain Sony Alpha models. So if I order from any of these places, I have no idea if I will get the older, incompatible model or the newer compatible one

Be careful! This lens MIGHT not work with the Sony a77 (and a65)! Yesterday this lens arrived, I attached it to my a77, and found that the autofocus did NOT work! After searching around the Web, I found a page on the Sigma Web site that said there are TWO recent versions of this lens: an older version, which has a sticker on the box saying "a33, a55 compatible" and a newer version with a sticker on the box saying "a65, a77 compatible".  Even though the newer version has been out since October 2011, apparently Amazon had an older supply, because the lens I was sent had the "a33, a55 compatible" sticker, and not the "a65, a77 compatible" sticker. You can find this page on the Sigma Web site for yourself. Just go to their site and search for "a77"

I bought Sigma lenses for my Pentax system, I cannot afford to buy Pentax lenses especially the DA version because it is very expensive especially for a college student like me. I wish Sigma Corporation will continue to support Pentax System, unfortunately they are already cutting them due to lack of marketing. That is the reason why Sigma dropped Pentax Systems. Pentax is a good brand, get your money's worth on their cameras

 The market right now is dominated by Sony, Nikon, and Canon because of their aggressive marketing strategies, unfortunately, the majority of the folks who had a spending power of credit card they believed that these three are the best in the market which I disagree at all. When it comes to AF, Pentax can be useful if you knew how to manipulate the said camera because for me I tried all of these many many many times and it is proven it's worth. The video I know it is bad because I never shoot video at all. I'm an old school when it comes to shooting pictures plus I never considered a cellphone as a camera because it really destroys the magic of Photography

Good alternative lens

 The first few pictures I fired off in my backyard turned out very sharp. The color saturation of the flowers, for example, was rich and impressive. So far, so good. I've rated this a four stars because now I have to get out and test it in the field for a few hundred shots this weekend

 The lens mount fit perfectly and smoothly on my T3i, more smoothly in fact than my EF prime lenses. The lens hood turns on effortlessly, and the "pouch" that's included is actually a sturdy, padded carrying bag that attaches to my belt. I plan to use it constantly, and it's as good an anything I've bought from Lowepro.  The autofocus worked immediately and fast and totally silent
