 And if you saw my review on the Xb43, you know that I was a little bit disappointed on the bass. but here on the Xb33, I'm not disappointed at all because of the size and the price of the speaker. Of course, we aren't going to get that extremely deep and thumpy bass that we get in the high-end speakers that cost a ton of money, but for only 150 dollars, this speaker definitely has some heat. As a base fan myself, I am always wanting more thump, so I am a pretty tough judge

That being said, though, we do have an Eq setting in the app that allows you to slightly change the audio and of course for myself, I always put that bass way up because I like the bass so high all the time. The Eq setting is definitely a plus for me

 But to be honest, that's not a huge deal because the bass is still generally deeper and has a little bit more thump than the Xb32. Now, I'll definitely talk more about that in a second, but for now, let's go ahead and jump into the audio test. It doesn't matter if it's true, I've got a feeling love will give us what we like. The world is waiting

Sony SRS-XB33 Review - Really Impressed!

I ordered a Sony SRS-XB23, but am disappointed in the sound quality. Even after fiddling with the EQ settings, it just doesn't have the same fullness of the SoundLink, so I'll probably return it and move up a tier. I've narrowed it down to 3 similarly priced (\~$100-130) options: SoundLink Color II, JBL Charge 3, or Sony SRS-XB33.

 they are not something that I feel are a true selling point. I am most concerned with sound quality and battery capacity. Secondly, it seems quite a bit larger than seemingly necessary for the sound it produces… I also have a JBL Charge 4 that I’ve had for going on 2 years now. It is not only smaller but packs a bigger “punch” (and by “punch” I am not meaning to say the JBL has better sound quality; just that it hits harder from a smaller unit)

  If you want a nice Bluetooth speaker for your house, room, office—whatever—this seems like a good choice

Not What I Anticipated

 I would say it's a dark horse in the portable speaker category, because when we mention Sony, we think of Tvs, Playstations, headphones, and lots more. But we wouldn't necessarily think of Sony for portable speakers, but the Srs Xb33 actually has quite a lot going for it, with a sound quality that is perhaps a little bit better than how it looks. So on the box on the box you'll notice the main message is extra bass, which we'll come on to a bit later on. So our first reaction upon unboxing the speaker was that it was larger than the packaging gives the impression of, but it's also weighty enough that it gives you confidence that it's built well

 that it really does sound great. We never like to use sound quality as a strength because everyone's ears are different, but this speaker deserves an exception to that rule. It's also got a great weatherproof rating, impressive battery life, and it's good value for the sound that you get. The negatives are that the size might make it slightly too large to carry around wherever you go

 now. On the edges you have the Sony logo on the top of these base drivers that fire outwards, which is surrounded with this leather edging around the sides, so on the bottom you've got these handy rubber feet for keeping nice and stable on a surface, or you can stand it upright like this. If you're a bit more limited for space, then if we look at the top panel touch controls, you've got the power button and you've got the bluetooth pairing button. You've got the play pause and you've got the volume up and down

tribit maxsound plus. i am using it in a mini hospital of 20x25ft for background music as in filling the silence with chants or just slow relaxing instrumental music(was using a laptop to play music before but the sound seems cheap when played in a larger space). the sound is full, un-intrusive and pleasant. the frequency response is flat so no particular instrument sounds harsh or peaky. it also doubles up as a travel speaker for me for its perfect size and good sound quality. one charge lasts almost a full working day on the volume that i use it at which would be around 25-33%. i have used jbl pulse 2 before this, the tribit is much better sound at much lower price. would recommend it over flip 5 as well as any of the speakers youve mentioned in your list.

Have you considered the Sonos one? It sounds amazing and it is expandable to stereo.
Other than that I would say you should have a look at the minirig 3. It sounds amazing and it is a great package of other features as well.

Somebody said Anker Soundcore Boost, I concur. It sounds great and is also stylish in a retro kinda not too gaudy way imo. If that suits your shop.

Stay away from Single Driver MONO Speakers.  Get a Dual Driver STEREO Speaker.  Also with USB-C Charging.  From your list, I believe only the Sony XB-33 fits that criteria.

I have a small clothing shop.
I've been using a cellphone for music but I want to get a Bluetooth speaker for better sound quality, and using the cellphone anyway doesn't looks good.


Its a small room 4,5m x 4,5m and about 4m height.

I dont care about volume that much, because we need to be able to talk over it.
I DO care about sound quality.
I don't want to spend more than I need to, but I have no problem to do so if the cheaper ones won't do it


I'm from Argentina so theres not many options.

From the well known brands we have: JBL, Ultimate Ears and some Sony's, the rest are Chinese brands (there are some Xiaomi s that look good but couldn't find much info about them)


These are the ones I've seen:

Best speaker for a small shop

I recently purchased two SRS-XB33 speakers. I researched LDAC vs aptX codecs and given the LDAC high bandwidth and the overall good reviews of this speaker, thought this was the best choice.  After receiving the speakers I paired the first one with my phone and saw in both the phone settings (including the developer options) and the Sony Music Center app, that LDAC/HD audio was being used. However, when I stereo paired the second speaker, LDAC went dead and the connection protocol switched to SBC (the base codec for Bluetooth connectivity)

No LDAC in stereo mode. Not advertised and a big negative.

My only options right now are the Sonys SRS-XB33 and the SRS-XB23, but I don't know if other brands have LDAC on their speakers. I only listen to FLAC files and I use Wavelet for a more neutral sound on my actual speaker (Xiaomi Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker) and AutoEq for my Headphones (Sony WH-1000XM4, Moondrop Aria, Phillips SHP9500). I won't go over 50% volume and it will only be used in my bedroom and kitchen, so water resistance is not necessary. Best sound quality possible

 This speaker is big and yet the sound is an issue. I feel a bit deceived because the description talks about how great the bass is and the sound. Yet I haven’t experienced how great either of these things is. I mostly use my speaker at work in a nosy kitchen with lots of people and talking happening

If you’re looking for a loud speaker…this isn’t the right one for you.

Sony XB33 that thing is built like a tank but still easy to open and swap out a blown speaker or battery. Plus it actually has a water and dustproof rating (IP67, max value for dust and debris protection), while the Motion Plus is IPX7 (the X signs no certification at all for dust or debris). Wonderboom is a very solid speaker but the Sony will sound miles better and stereo. Just pick whatever size you prefer

If the Wonderboom 2 is alot more durable, I think that will be my choice because I have previously destroyed a JBL Charge 4 within 1 year. However I work in loud environments and I like the extra volume. I also like only worrying about charging devices with one (usb-c) cable. Form factor will fit into a pocket easier.

Basically everything is better about the motion +, but if it will ALSO break within 1 year, much like my JBL Charge 4, then I don't think it's worth it.

Speaker durability for working construction, between UE Wonderboom 2 and Motion+?

 The xb33 DOES play much LOUDER then the x55, so for parties this would be the better choice. However, my needs are for low to mid volume while camping, so I tried the xb43.  The xb43, with two woofers and two tweeters has the balanced sound I wanted. The size sucks: The xb43 looks and feels much larger and is MUCH HEAVIER

I've been using a Sony X55 for 7 years and it finally gave up the ghost. The XB33 was the perfect size to replace it, however the sound quality was below par.  The X55 had a wonderfully balanced sound with the woofer and two tweeters giving tight bass and crisp mids and highs. The xb33 with just two woofers has almost no mids and the highs are muddy at best
