Imo the best fully auto table is the technics SL-1300. It has the coolest repeat functions I have ever seen as well. Plus, it’s basically a fully manual table as well for when you want it to be that. And it looks really nice and is super heavy.

I have fixed, maintained, used, and sold several of these models. There are minor differences, but to me the mk1 models all sound pretty much the same as long as they are working correctly. I liked the sl-1300 the most. It was heavy, well built, and had fully automatic operation.

The owner was real friendly and I was walking in initially looking for a Technics SL-1300 or similar models with the intentions on spending about $300 to $350. Everything in the store has been serviced by professional technicians and all turntables came with a 80% used cartridge to brand new. So I told him I would like to see what the best I could do with my budget and he narrowed me down to this one for $450 and Technics SL-B2 for $350. He said the wood finish is pretty rare and this one has a brand new cartridge.

For starters it looks beautiful and, as you will know, it is actually a Clearaudio product at a somewhat more reasonable price. However, I think you could get considerably better value-for-money by picking up a good used DD turntable, for instance a Technics SL-1300 MkII (I would avoid the original SL-1300, the Mk II is better and looks nicer).

P Mount cartridges are a little harder to come by but these are very functional tables. Or go with an SL-1300 or SL-1500 for a more normal turntable experience.

Technics SL-1300 and have zero complaints. However, with the R51Ms back up to $289, I would instead pick up the KEF Q150s.
