REI Trail 25 and Ruckpack 28 both can do the job. I don’t consider anything larger than that as a day pack.

The Tom Bihn Synik 30 would be great, $300 aside.

Definitely good for traveling and carrying your laptop and a few things. I feel straps could be uncomfortable. Definitely would not buy another one at the price ñ.

The Techonaut 30 looks better (to me) and I love TB quality, especially the zippers. However, I don't know how it will perform when loaded with heavy tech gear. There is a mesh back panel and edgeless straps which might make it more comfortable, although I don't like the edgeless straps too much on my newer Synapse25.

The Tom Bihn Synik 30 is infamously comfortable with its edgeless straps and solid construction. It also has little touches (like having the water bottle centered on the bag) that really put it over the top.

- Bag; used to be synapse 25, recently changed to Tom Bihn aeronaut 30, under packed with only 20liters. I want to add some more to this: I only pack the center compartment and once I’ve left the house I’ll spread it out amongst all three. My problem is that any bag I use I pack to capacity.
