I ha e the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom and I’m quite happy with it, especially for the price. Great for in the kitchen when making dinner or taking room to room. 

I own Marshall Emberton. I am not an expert when it comes to sound, I’ll call myself average listener. I bought it mainly because of design, even though on test videos and comparisons on YT it was one of the best. 

Listen mainly to rock, indy rock, metal and jazz. Even though as an average listener I appreciate most of the music genres, I use this speaker mostly for some jazz. All I can say, this speaker sounds perfect to me. Clean, deep and solid. 

When I was buying it I thought like, it will be looking amazing on my shelf at least. Cause I wasn’t sure if my new habit of listening to music through some speakers and not headphones will grow on me (I was sick of my computer crappy speakers) Well, now it’s not only making my interior nicer, it’s also filling my room with some sound ambiance ;) 

Enjoying it a lot. But as you can see I switched from crappy HP speakers to Marshall Emberton and I guess I can’t be objective to the full extent. I’d suggest you to try it out before buying if possible :)

Personally I love my HK Onix 4. I have two of them. I think they sound great and you can pair them together for stereo or just more sound. 

When my first one pooped out I mailed it to then for a completely free exchange for a refurbished one. They paid shipping both ways. Great customer service. 

I doubt they would last for a lifetime, but I also doubt there is any Bluetooth speakers that will last a lifetime. They will probably invent a different technology that will supplant Bluetooth eventually I reckon.

Theres two shortcomings to just about all bluetooth speakers. Either the battery will fail or the foam surround on the speaker will fail. 

I built my own. Look at Parts Express website for boards and such. They have setups that use 18650 lithium batteries (vape batteries) that are user replaceable.

Anything by bose. My last speaker i bought- guerenteed to never blow and has a lifetime warranty. I got it about 7ish years ago. Still sounds better than any other brand speaker i test out at best buy. Everyone compliments the sound quality who listens to it.

LG Xboom GO Pl 7, its tuned by Meridian, so the sound quality is excellent. Buy two and pair them on Stereo. A budget alternative: Anker Soundcore Icon+. Those two are Audiophile approved budget speakers.

Wouldn't get the Marshall, you can get better sounding with less money. You should really care more about the sound quality than the design of the speaker.

I've been really impressed by the JBL Charge series BT speaker my wife bought.   I was really skeptical at first because she's a "Bose sounds good" person and I'm a "I guess that I'll have to settle for Marantz because I can't afford MacIntosh" person. Looking for a Bluetooth portable speaker

i like the sound quality almost. I was really excited since this is the first time to have this ue boom (always using bose) I was happy and meet my expectations however the battery life is not what I’ve expected.. oh well have to use until the I get a new one

Now first off, the Boom 2 and the Megaboom are one of the few speakers on the market that does give full 360 degree sound

 Now going to the bottom here, there's a small metal loop to hook this anywhere, a flap that covers the 3.5mm port if you ever decide to connect this physically to your device, and a 3.5mm cord is not provided so just a heads up on that. And very last, a micro USB port to connect this with the supplied wall charger

 And there you have it folks, no sound recorded on my end and then played through your speakers are not the best depiction of audio quality, hence my review here. No matter which side of the speaker you're standing on, you'll receive the same loudness. For UE's website, the loudness of this particular speaker here has increased and it surely shows

 This speaker is loud, very loud that is, for small to medium sized rooms, and now it can fill up larger sized rooms at full volume. But at full volume, I did notice that bass does drone a bit. Once you reduce the volume slightly, then the bass levels are a little bit more appreciated then. Vocals in mid range are decent, but lacks authority and not as crisp and bright as some of the other speakers I've tested on the market, specifically the JBL Charge 2 and the Bose Soundlink Mini 2

UE BOOM 2 Bluetooth Speaker - REVIEW

I use Spotify through my phone to control the speaker and after about 20 ft the speaker gets glitchy.

I was thinking about buying a tablet to install Spotify on and just keep that by the speaker at all times and then I believe I can use my mobile app to change tracks.

If that doesn't work someone on here told me to look into a Bluetooth range extender.

Bought the Altec Lansing Xpedition 850 and the Bluetooth range isn't great. Anyone recommend Bluetooth extenders?

 But I guess that's just me being critical, since 12 hours is still going to get you through a solid day at the beach. If you need to check how much battery life is left, you can actually just hold down the plus and minus buttons on the speaker and it'll tell you. 60% Charge Before we get into sound, it's worth mentioning that you can change the EQ settings through the app, and I actually was able to find a pretty good custom setting that I really enjoyed. But for the sake of testing, we kept it all on the standard setting that it was already on, fresh out the box

 You can even power the speaker on or off in the app, which is actually really useful in practice. With that, it'll also tell you how much battery life is left in the speaker, it'll pair a second UE speaker for double the sound, you can set alarms, and you can customize the sound with the EQ settings, all within the app. I think I actually liked the app experience a little bit more than the speaker experience. Like the original Boom, UE claims a battery life of 15 hours, but also like the original, it fails to live up to that expectation

 It felt like the bass was always right behind the vocals, which took away from the other instruments in the background and made a very muddy sound overall. Highs are very slightly harsh, but not enough to be a problem. The hi-hats and crashes in the drums of C2.0 by The Roots lost a good amount of detail overall, and they were a little too loud for my taste, which I know is not how Questlove played them

 The mids were a little fuzzy overall. Vocals in Got It Bad by Leisure weren't overly clear, but they were given a clear precedence over the rest of what was going on in the song, which is good. It felt like the bass was always right behind the vocals, which took away from the other instruments in the background and made a very muddy sound overall. UE Boom 2 Review

Its class. Small and compact to take away when travelling. Can host a party indoors with it too. 

I am looking for recommendations for a good durable outdoor portable bluetooth speaker.  Don't need Hi-Fi quality, but want something that still puts off enjoyable sound.  Something we can use around fire pit, or in living room, or at a get together at the house (outdoors), like 10-15 people.  Suggestions are a huge help.  Have been looking at the Sony XB-43, JBL- Xtreme 3, Sonos Roam, Bose Soundflex, etc.  Not a fan of the Motionboom or Flare.  Thanks again.

Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker Firepit/Outdoor Family Parties

This speaker sounds amazing and looks great. What surprises and disappoints me so much is that the function and controls are so poor. Frankly, I can't believe people don't complain about this left and right. Basically, this speaker has an "on" button on top and those two ridiculous volume buttons on the front

Yooo! That Ultimate Ears Wonderboom speaker you got is the best value in the portable speaker game hands down!

This is MY desk, in MY office, at my first ever executive chef position (still sorting through the old guy's stuff.) 11 years in the making and it's still sinking in.

 But the symbols are not actually the control buttons--the actual buttons are small buttons in the middle of the huge symbols, and the actual buttons have no texture so you cannot feel them--which means that you cannot change the volume by feel but have to be looking at the unit every time you want to change the volume because you have to locate the middle of the symbol by sight so that you can push the button to change the volume! So the huge symbols are not only an eyesore, but they also make it more difficult to find the volume buttons!! So if you change the volume a lot, each time you will need to locate the center of a large symbol by site; such a bad design. There are so many less frustrating devices that can match (or beat) this one on sound for less than the cost of this unit.

The sound on this unit is ok. Not great, but ok. But the problem for me with the unit is 3 big design flaws, and I'm amazed that more people haven't had issues with these. Here are the big design flaws: 1
