 Now in terms of the high frequencies that weren't ear-piercing or overboard and had just the right amount for listening even at top volumes. Overall, this speaker has some awesome bass good directional audio with the very wide soundstage and this thing gets very loud. Now going back to the app I was talking about earlier. there's an adaptive EQ setting for outdoor use that will automatically change the audio for what environment the speaker is placed in

 We also have dual passive three-and-a-half inch by seven and a half inch passive radiators shooting out of the back of the speaker which sounds incredible when the speaker is placed by a wall because they now this isn't a 360 degree audio speaker, but we do get a very wide directional audio which in my opinion is just as good. The bass is all around and very good even when it's not next to a wall. And I Do have to mention that you can change the audio in the speaker's app which allows you to change the bass and treble. The audio test I showed you guys earlier was on the regular audio setting and there is also no muddiness or Distortion but with that being said, both the speaker and the JBL boombox can lose a bit of that crispness at the top volumes, but that is kind of to be expected with almost every speaker

What's going on guys is you know from Modern Accessory review and in today's video we're going to be talking about the Ultimate Ears Hyper Boom. This is the newest speaker from Ultimate Ears and is also the most expensive in the lineup coming in at $400 just like their competitor of the JBL Boom box. Of course, being transparent with you guys. I Did personally buy this myself from Best Buy so my review is not altered in any way now

 My ears went with a rectangular design rather than a cylinder style like the Mega Boom lineup and I actually really liked this rectangular shape because it's more modern and something about it just looks better than those cylinder shaped speakers. Now the speaker is definitely made to entertain and for that reason it is very portable. We have a rubber strap on the back which allows us to carry this thing around for a while before your arms start to get tired. Surrounding the Hyper Boom, we have this awesome charcoal colored, durable fabric that a lot of speakers are using these days with the top and bottom of the speaker being made out of durable plastic

I know Bluetooth isn’t always so reliable, but I’ve had many other integrated Bluetooth speakers I use outdoors for much less money and they work better

 The Bluetooth connection drops incessantly, music is glitchy, and the speakers randomly disconnect and turn off completely. I am fairly tech savvy and followed all the instructions for getting party up to work, constantly disconnecting and reconnecting the speakers from Bluetooth and each other, resetting the speakers, and following all directions on line. I even did “forget device” on phone and reconnected every device several times like they were out of the box. All software is up to date as well

As many, I went to youtube to find reviews on the speaker. I got it and tested it and the max volumen is not near what I expected. The speaker sounds really good, balances and with good base, excellent sound quality for a portable speaker. However, don't expect it to get obnoxiously loud

 Its good for a 10-12 person gathering, will fill up a regular sized room but I would personally not describe it as a party speaker that will get people up from their seats to dance.

Seconding Hyperboom as it's quite a bit better than most 300 dollar speakers (notably excluding the Exos 9).

Hey all, my Bose Soundlink Color 2 isn't charging any longer and I'm looking for an upgrade. The things that are most important to me from first to last.

1. Quality sound at low to mid volume, rarely will be used at high volume (70% at most)
2. Portability, I need something easy and quick to move from room to room as well as light outdoor use 
3. Battery life/ease of charging, one of the biggest gripes I had for the Bose was the charging port
4. One unit, while I absolutely understand the more speakers the better overall quality, I want the ease of one thing 
5. Price, would love to keep under that 300 but I already have been looking above it

I will mostly use it for music (Alt Rock, Indie, Rap, Pop, Metal) as well as a healthy dose of podcasts.

Products I'm looking at:
Sonos Move: price is high, and I have no intention of getting more Sonos for the house
UE Hyperboom: seems a bit overkill for what I would use it for, 
Bose Soundlike Revolve+: mixed bag of reviews and im hesitant due to previous charging port issues
Sony Xb43: seems to be more for outdoor and not necessarily sound accuracy
Soundcore Motion+: not at Best Buy

Any suggestions would be great! Planning to try to go listen to a few in store later today.

Got a 300 best buy gift card burning a hole in my pocket.

I really like this! I just think the loudest it gets isnt loud enough! But I mean it is a Bluetooth wireless speaker. Also the price isnt as bad as some of the other ones! I would give it 8 out of 10 stars

Aiwa exos-9 is one of the best BT speakers but if you listen hip-hop and electronic music you will be more satisfied with bass quality party speaker than speaker for clear critical listening.
Best VFM for you is without doubt JBL partybox 100.
If you needs something louder but without battery you can check also availability and price of Panasonic SC-UA7E or even better Panasonic SC-UA90 in your country.
SC-UA7E have port noise at high volumes but you can overcome bass distortion by reducing it at high volumes and increase it at low volumes.

If you don't need portable speaker and will listen only in apartment active bookshelf speakers + sub will get you far better sound quality than any BT speaker.

seeking bluetooth speaker rec for small apartment

 So, the sound is not perfectly balanced to my ears, but it is not distractingly unbalanced, like I found the JBL Boombox 2 to be, with its overdone bass. Heck, I expect that many folks would prefer the JBL because of its bass, so YMMV.  Also, the Hyperboom sounds balanced as the volume is pushed to near max. The loudest I’ve had it is a click or 2 down from max, and it is plenty loud and satisfying for me at that level

 First, I tried the JBL Boombox 2. I returned it. To my ears, the bass was overdone and thuddy, drowning out the mids and highs. Also, the sound was very directional, meaning that my ears had to be directly in line with the speaker (vertically and horizontally) to get some presence of mids and highs

 For example, one could connect a battery powered Bluetooth receiver with aptX/AAC and optical output (like I did with the Monoprice unit in the attached pic), or even connect a Chromecast Audio via optical, which would not be portable, but would eliminate Bluetooth compression altogether.  If UE made a Hyperboom with aptX/AAC bluetooth and wifi connectivity for $400, they would hit a grand slam, IMO.

Enter the Hyperboom…  IMO, the Hyperboom sounds pretty darn balanced, with good bass and open and detailed mids and highs. It sounds more like a pair of decent bookshelf speakers pushed together

Finally a portable speaker with good bass and mostly balanced, open sound!
