I bought a Victrola suitcase about a week ago, the sound was terrible (even after replacing the cartridge) and upgraded to a Victrola Eastwood two days later. It was a big improvement but just today I ended up exchanging that for a AT-LP60XBT and it’s definitely worth the extra money. I believe it’s around $200-$220 but I bought one today from Bestbuy for $180 in the store (early Black Friday sale).

Looking to upgrade my turntable to something better with a $150 budget. I currently have a "SeeYing" brand record player from amazon. It's ok, sound is kinda muffled but its alright. I'm just looking for something really good with my budget. Something i can upgrade overtime. Feel free add speaker suggestions if needed to.

Nothing special. I ask, why couldn’t they have made it so slightly larger so the record wouldn’t hang over the side. I find that annoying. I rarely use it

They won't destroy your records -- that's a debunked myth -- but they won't deliver anywhere near the sound quality vinyl is capable of. And the Victrola Eastwood is better than the typical cheap record players because it comes with an Audio-Technica AT3600L magnetic cartridge with a diamond stylus, instead of the red ceramic cartridge and sapphire or ruby stylus, which most others come with.

So my question is, which stylus can I buy to replace the one that will come with the Victrola or Crosley whenever I end up buying one or the other? Hello have a question first time buying LPs (vinyl) and record player?

Doesn’t connect to Bluetooth speakers as well as I thought it would... but the sound quality is better than the other vitrola devices

Turntable Reccomendations

 So if you are wanting the bare minimum that will provide reasonably good sounding fidelity, with a good cartridge and a cheap price, the Eastwood is the way to go. The best table you can buy on a tight budget or just trying to figure out whether you are truly into LPs. Far better than a Crosley Cruiser and far better than those Panasonic portables from the 1970's.

While my main turntable is a vintage Philips 212 with an Ortofon 2m Red cartridge, I was in the process of moving and had yet to set up my stereo and wanted to hear some music in the background. This unit is proof that the cartridge is responsible for most of the fidelity you get from your LPs. The actual table itself is nothing particularly special, in fact not all that different than what one would find on the Crosley Cruiser with the small platter and three speed DC servo motor and simple tone arm. The major difference is the affordable, ubiquitous, but excellent Audio Technica AT3600L cartridge integrated into the end of the tone arm

 That said it is $179-$210 where the Eastwood is only about $99 and more compact. I bought the Eastwood as an impulse buy and did not for something better because I have at least six other turntables that fit that bill. A small budget turntable that is somewhat worth owning

Very nice turntable. Looks fantastic, has lots of nice features like a switch to lower and raise the needle arm to eliminate scratching. The internal speakers have a nice, clean sound but they don't have a huge sound. I've found that connecting to external speakers through the bluetooth is a bit tricky

 It sounds incredible connected to my soundbar!! The Audio Technica needle cartridge is top notch.

.maybe I'm doing something wrong but I've tried several methods and this is the only way I've been able to get it to connect externally via bluetooth. Just something to keep in mind. Otherwise, it's really a fantastic turntable!! I would definitely buy it again, even with the tricky bluetooth

Great for the price!

 Player number 2 did not work at all. This was does the trick. If you played vinyl on your old stereo system and are expecting the same sound quality, you will not find it in any of these players, the speakers are small with no bass. I think the reviews on these players that claim great sound lost their ear buds and are playing music directly from their phones

  This one has decent, not great sound quality. You will be happy playing it as is as long as you don't have memories of your $1000+ stereo system. What sets this one apart is that it is the only one in its price range with blue tooth out. Most have bt in, but who wants to play your music on crap speakers

This is my third try at a decent record player for my daughter. The box type had absolutely horrible sound. Player number 2 did not work at all. This was does the trick

 I paired it with a Sony blue tooth speaker - an easy process. The better the speaker/speakers you use, the better the sound. The record player comes with an Audio Technica cartridge, a low end one, but a real company. Bottom line, for sub $80 this will do the trick for a new record owner

Great For An Entry Level!

 However there is a bit of a down side when it comes to placing a record in the player. The clear plastic lid that covers the deck does interfere when placing a record from the top. The back side seems to have a clearing that sits a bit too close when placing in a record. I simply had to tilt the record forward in order to bypass this but ultimately it wasn't a deal breaker

 The speakers are nice and loud. I did like the bluetooth feature that it comes with. I have this unit as the main music player for my bar room and it is nice to know that I can simply stream music without the need of an additional speaker. All in all the unit is pretty sturdy and works well
