* XGIMI Elfin, which is mostly the same but cheaper, <800 ANSI Lumens, and a more lightweight design. * BenQ GS50, which is new and has a battery but it's less lumens and using a battery is pretty limiting. * Epson EF12, which is less lumens and bad latency but slightly cheaper, has warranty, and can ceiling project.

Either way, they'll only work well when it's dark. I'd probably wait and add another 100 to that and see if the LG PF50KA at 600 lumens or the Xgimi Elfin at 800 lumens goes on a respectable sale. The Xgimi was 551 last week but is back to 650 with a 50 coupon this week on Amazon US. If a battery is important the Xgimi doesn't have one as far as I know.

I had the Xgimi MoGo Pro, and it was good, but a little dim for my needs - I recently upgraded to the Xgimi Horizon Pro 4k, but it's £1500, so a big price hop. The Elfin and Halo are both in between the MoGo and the Horizon in terms of quality and brightness, but should be good. They have standard tripod-screw mounts on the bottom for attaching to things.

However, I wanted something brighter for field work and just ordered the Elfin. Haven’t compared the brightness yet. Note that the Elfin requires external power and the Solar Portable does not. I figured that most times I’ll be plugged in and Have a Jackery power bank if I need to go portable with the Elfin.
