Corsair HS60 Pro vs HyperX Cloud Alpha

I bought these back in September to carry around mobile with my laptop. Was a little cautious since two people I know who owned Corsair mice and headsets ended up replacing them less than 3 years of ownership. But the price of these was pretty attractive, reviews were good, I liked the dark colors, and figured I'd give it a try and hope their customer service was decent. The audio quality of this headset is pretty average for its price--I wouldn't listen to classical music on these, with my other pair (HyperX Cloud II) definitely superior soundwise

Tldr: For metal, classic and modern rock, KSC75 are much better than Porta Pros. The Porta Pro has way to much bass and muddies everything as a result. KSC75 is clear, balanced and just makes the songs sound how they're supposed to sound.

I got these to improve my hearing while gaming, FPS specifically. As an audiophile I have a pretty well tuned ear to good sound quality, and overall these are pretty well balanced and sound quite good considering their primary intent is for gaming use. The mic works well, with minimal to no complaints being heard. The reason for my low rating is these over ear headphones which are supposed to be noise cancelling/minimizing cause a significant amount of noise if I ever move or press on the headphone itself

The HyperX Cloud Alpha are good wired gaming headphones. They have a fairly well-balanced sound profile, though they're quite susceptible to fit, seal, and positioning, so you may experience their sound reproduction differently, especially if you wear glasses. They look very similar to the HyperX Cloud 2/Cloud II, and they're just as comfortable with well-padded ear cups and a flexible headband that isn't as tight on the head. They look and feel very well-built, and have a detachable mic so you can use them as your day-to-day headphones as well

If you have a gaming motherboard with something like an S1220 with an amp, you could set it to the higher settings and have some fun with it.

Conclusion/Recommendation: The headset is a solid headset overall but not for what I wanted to mainly use it for which was gaming. I really wanted to like this headset but the sound bleed is a major issue for me since I game allot with the mic. But for everything else it works fine. I would NOT recommend it because it is a gaming headset and it has major sound bleeding

With that said, if these are on sale, buy them. You’re not going to do much better at this price range.

The microphone can be described as XBox Live chat quality from the 2010s according to a friend on Discord, but that's not all that important to me because I'm not looking for amazing mic quality here. How much do I like these? I bought them as a gift for my spouse based upon the reviews and the brand's reputation, but I had not tried them. When they arrived, I gave them a try. Holy smokes. I deeply regretted that I don't care about myself enough to buy quality headsets for myself; I have been denying myself life's little pleasures all of these years by buying cheap, off-brand headsets
