Pretty to look at but need to Upgrade

NOW, everything is duckey at 33.3. Amazon was also great about sending it back for a replacement but after setting it up properly, leveling it and installing the upgrades, I wasn't willing to do that but Rega was great about the dust cover! I guess the point is, you need to do the upgrades mentioned to get the TT to spin properly. It does sound great with the Ortofon blue but the Audio Technica was dead nutz at 33

It’s definitely not overkill (it’s an entry level turntable) but I don’t think it’s the best you can do for the money. Also that Best Buy exclusive color is a crime against humanity.

Good Turntable, but can be better

2- The overall design could be better for a >$650 turntable. 3- There is no auto stop, that's a bit frustrating, again when you pay over $650 for a turntable 4- Design is simple and honest 5- They could use a way better RCA cables, it feels cheap 6- There is no separate ground connection, but it seems Rega designs the left channel ground as chassis ground, but it depends on the pre-amp, if it uses the same ground for both chassis and shield. Overall, I would./Could buy a better turn table in this price range

Bass

Good, but not great as expected

The sound quality of the bass is not match to my SL 235. I switched cartridges (and switched the pre-amps and used different pre-amps), and the sound quality of the RT 82 improved, but the sound of my SL 235 was still better. You will get a good sound with the RT-82 if you get a decent cartridge (OM Pro S, MK3, or better), and I still recommend the RT 82 if you need a good turntable.
