Buy or Build PC for son interested in video editing and live streaming?

The hp pavilion isn't a good buy, very outdated and underpowered. The Lenovo is much better, more modern and more powerful, and importantly has a decent sized SSD rather than hard drive, this will make the computer much faster just on its own, and you can always add a hard drive for more storage for very cheap(not sure about US prices bit could get a good sized one for £60 in the UK).

Weight

My only gripe is I wish it was just a little bit lighter and the speakers would fire backwards when I fold the screen backwards and tent the laptop upside down. otherwise it's perfect for my needs.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14in (5600u) vs HP Pavilion 13in (5800u)

I have the Pavilion 13" and it is by far the lightest laptop i've ever had. Its replacing a 14" Dell Latitude e7440 that has the FHD touchscreen and is my current work computer. .
