Underwhelmed

Tonality: I dont want a really cold headphone. I want more of a warm or neutral sound, but i want headphone to be more on the bright side. Source: I dont have an amp and i know that K701 needs it but i dont really know if i would have enough money to get an amp. But i might also use the hedphones when i will go on walks so i dont really want to get an amp but if the sound is much better i will probably get one

 If you look at the charts the bass is rolled off and the distortion is relatively high in the bass. That means when you apply the heavy EQ needed to bring the bass up the distortion goes up along with it and suddenly your bass isn't very clean. It's certainly true they are clear sounding and the detail is there but once you make the sound truly neutral it starts sounding pretty muddy.  Material: It's a mixed bag

 maybe someone's cup of tea but not mine.  For the record I've been driving them with a Schiit stack and also an xDuoo Link. My other headphones are Tin T2 & T4 and B&O H6 (which I like much better). My speakers are KEF LS50 which are my reference point for great sound

I hadn't even heard of the company. Currently I own DT770 Pro's (daily "drivers" for 10 years), and AKG K701's. I don't yet have an amp, but am considering the Shiit Magni Heresy or 3+. From what I have heard listening to them so far these are spectacular, and even compared the 701's completely blow them out of the water

Thats love right there, not just in term of money, but your dad actually took time to do research on the headphones, he must’ve gone through a tons of options.

That's a high end headphone for sure. In case you weren't aware to get the best out of them you want to EQ them

Remember soundstage is important to me and I heard that HD 650, while having a good tuning has a very tiny soundstage. The HD 600 is said to be better, but AFAIK it has a peak in the 1k to 4k range, so does that make it harsh?

If I would want a headphone to emit a nice, pleasant neutral sound, but be sensitive to EQ tuning and good imaging/ soundstage, which headphones should I consider under 450 USD range?

 I would not recommend these headphones if you plan to travel or go outdoor with them. The plastic is quite thin and glossy. My M30's are build tougher than the K701's in comparison.  Comfort: Clearly, the best headphones I ever had in term of comfort

  Overall sound quality: The K701's offer a well balanced and clear sound, with a very flat frequency response and a wide soundstage. The high frequencies are clear and the mids are well present. The basses are what you would expect from proper monitoring headphones: They are not "boosted" or colored at all. For some people, it might be an issue, especially if they are bass lovers

 My M30's are build tougher than the K701's in comparison.  Comfort: Clearly, the best headphones I ever had in term of comfort. They are super light and the ear pads are soft but not too soft, so they keep their shape and no plastic rests near your ears. I should mention too: These headphones use an elastic mechanism that automatically adjust the headband to the proper setting

I upgraded from my Audio-Technica ATH-M30 (cost about 60$ to 80$) to a pair of AKG K701 headphones ($550 at launch, about 200$ to 250$ now) and so far, I'm not disappointed. A word of caution however: They are known for a potential (but mostly fixable) defect (more about that at the end of this review).  Overall sound quality: The K701's offer a well balanced and clear sound, with a very flat frequency response and a wide soundstage. The high frequencies are clear and the mids are well present

I helped my little brother pick out a pair of Akg k240's and I thought they were pretty good. I started looking for akg headphones to upgrade my current setup, and I found these. They don't sound that different compared to my sennheiser HD 58x but these are so comfortable. I have always liked to frictionless headband style, but the soft leather headband and earpads make these feel like they honestly float on my head. As a poor college student, these are going to serve me well for a long time!

My trio are k712 pro 6xx and sivga phoenix loving each one for different reasons all running through my zen DAC to a Mt602 tube rolled to gw5654 if I remember correctly

The headphones I've always had my eye on, but never brought. I have HD600's. Sundara's and DT1990's. Defo don't need these, but will no doubt end up getting them lol.

 Tag that boon along with the average-but-not-so-punchy amount of bass, they handle extremely well for games. I love them. I mean they are seriously some of the best headphones I've ever heard for gaming. BIG plus!  The cons: For some tracks - for example, when listening to something that is very acoustic dominant, with strings and higher-register instruments dominating the soundfield - to me, they sound a little TOO bright

 This is alleviated a LOT with a good amp, and I haven't used these with a tube amp yet, but it's possible that a decent tube amp would help "warm up and round out the tone". Then again, after I listen to a jazz number with a drumset that seemed to crash the cymbals a little too brightly for my tastes - causing some ear fatigue - the next track plays and I'm once again in sonic nirvana!  I can't give five stars merely because the sound is a little "brighter" than I like. However, this is not a knock on the quality of the headphones themselves.

 Since the Q702s are essentially the same headphones but with some upgrades, I must say it's the FIRST time I recall listening to sponsored cans that deserve to be considered reference class.  Gaming - directionality is another extremely strong plus with these cans. Tag that boon along with the average-but-not-so-punchy amount of bass, they handle extremely well for games. I love them
