 There are two dedicated FX sends making it quick and easy to add a bit of reverb or delay where needed but as with the rest of the range there are actually 4 multi FX engines built in. It's the most portable Q model with faders. We make a soft carry case so you can keep your hands free when carrying other equipment or if needed you can easily add some rack ears and mount the Q16 in a standard 19 inch rack. This is especially popular for AV use where many engineers also make use of the built-in auto mic mixer for conferencing or broadcast setups

 So it gives you a really nice bit of peace of mind working with the two different types of recordings or options with this desk. And that's the same across the Q16, the 24 and the 32. I keep saying it, they're very, very similar to the 16, the 24 and the 32. With the 24, we've got four group outputs, but also dedicated matrix output as well

 Then you've got a very, very powerful little live setup or maybe again a lot of people because we'll come to it in a bit, a bit more information about the recording capabilities of this desk, this could be a really nice little partner to doing some quite powerful recordings really and we'll come to that in a little bit later on. So our 16 local connections for our inputs coming into the desk. Now it really doesn't hold back on the outputs either, so we do have a total of 10 mix outputs here as well. So again, if it's gone into maybe a house of worship or again, a studio or maybe a live sound setup where they don't have a monitor engineer, that really is a cool feature to be able to have 40 channels of audio coming straight down our cat five cable to our stage box and then maybe daisy chain it off from that

Alan & Heath wanted to create a very simple and easy to use digital desk and they wanted people that are familiar with analog to be able to come to a digital desk and not be freaked out by lots of different menus etc

 We've then got a sort of main control section on this super strip here which really is a one knob per function which we'll come to in more detail in a moment. And then obviously we have our 16 plus our master fader along the bottom here. So these are motorised faders and my stress as well. But as I said, the signal path for the local connection really is analog connection one, fader one and then we can easily select and focus, shall I say, this super strip by using the select keys here quite easily

 I'm barely moving that and it goes fast. Well, we incorporated multi-touch into here. So any of the functions on the desk, and that's EQ, the mic preamp gain, the graphic EQ, any of that, I can simply touch on here. And if you slide your finger away from the control, the farther you slide it away, the more fine-tuned adjustment that it does

 Generally on an output, we used to go and we'd buy our racks of graphic EQs and we'd put a limiter on there to protect our speakers. Well, this has all that built in on the output. So if I select an output, I actually have got that same style of four-band parametric EQ that I would have on an input, but I've also got a one-third octave graphic EQ. And there's a graphic EQ fader flip button here

 So this actually has 10 outputs on the back. All of those outputs are on XLR connectors, so you don't have to worry about finding adapters and where did I do with my little quarter inch adapter. They're actually locking mic style XLR connectors on the back. So it's a very professional mixer

 Per channel. Per input. That's all the 22 inputs on the desk. So now the output side of it, anytime you're doing live sound or you've got this thing installed, you're out with your band, you're going to need a lot of outputs
