 When we built our setup, we went with an OSP 16 space rack case. It's the cheapest case you can buy with shock protection, which I highly recommend if you're going to put anything expensive in it. Other products aside, right off the bat, you're going to get 16 XLR inputs, six aux ins and outs, eight XLR outs, MIDI capability, AES 50 capability, like I said, ethernet and a USB interface. You could use this in the recording studio as your main interface if you really wanted to

Behringer X32 Rack Review: The Best In Ear Monitor System?

 It's still going to be, maybe when you learn all the interface, kind of easy, so you're not going to have to read all the knobs, but in order to access certain channels when you need, on demand, you're going to have to scroll with this knob. So, they're showing all inputs, auxiliary inputs, buses, DCA, mains, and matrix. So, for example, if I need to do the adjustment and select something in the matrix, I have to scroll through all the channels when it goes through auxes, goes through buses, through DCA, and goes to matrix. When I select the matrix, then I hit this button, then I see what we have in matrix

 So, the sound would be the same as well. So, the compatibility, all the controls on the app that controls that thing is absolutely the same. There is no difference. Same app controls either one or another

 One talkback input, one headphone input, in comparison this one has two headphone inputs, and the rest of this stuff is looking pretty much the same, except the fact that we don't have any faders over here. So again, one major difference that I've noticed is the output card, which previously when we got the bigger soundboard it has firewire and USB, now the new card has only USB output, but according to the manufacturer's description it still allows you to process 32 inputs, 32 outputs in and out of your computer via USB 2, which is absolutely surprising because I haven't seen any separate sound cards on the market that will do both, and will be able to support this much bandwidth. So let's plug it in and see how this thing behaves. Let's power it up

 Moving on, we can even go to the routing tab here. We can fully set up the routing on the X32 Rack. So this is a good time to mention that the X32 Rack is a fully featured 32 channel, 40 input mixer. So I mentioned you have 16 XLRs on the back, so your other channels are going to likely be coming from the S16 stage box, which provides an additional 16 microphone inputs

 Also on the iPad, we can go through and we have complete scene management. The X32 Rack has a hundred scenes on board that you can save, and those are complete snapshots of your mix, including effects and fader levels and everything like that. And you can work on that right here on the scenes menu, saving and loading scenes. And you can also use that to save load presets and even for firmware updates, which are available for free from time to time from Behringer

 We have 16 mix buses, and we also have a fully featured effects processor in here, which we can access with the effects button. It's an eight space stereo effects processor with about 35 or more reverbs, graphic EQs, what kind of plug-ins you can use in here, and again, you can access all of this from the front of the unit. On the back of the X32 Rack, we have a fully featured I.O

 You can see there's a tab for each of the eight effects processors. So if I'm using a graphic EQ, I have access to that here. I also can change any of the different reverb plugins I'm using. So that's all included as well

 Usually racked up with a few Sennheiser in-ear monitor transmitters and XLR split. A lot of times they've been operated by musicians who have never really touched a mixer before and these usually do a great job for that. They let people record every show pretty easily and I've heard countless stories of people going out on small tours with an X32 rack for their in-ear monitoring only but then they end up using it as the primary front of house mixer for the whole tour when they run into substandard house systems in smaller clubs and things like that. So it's a really handy little box that seems to get a lot of good use by the people who buy them

 What are you doing these days? Is a mixer still relevant? Have you gone completely in the box with computer solutions? I'd be really interested to know what your priorities are in a mixer that you'd actually want to own versus something that you would see out on a gig. If you've had any experience with the x32 rack if anybody's got any pictures of any cool tours or x32 rack rigs they've built for anybody or use themselves I'd love to include those in an upcoming video so other folks can see more examples of what you can do with a solution like this.
