 I knew that I should not have bought a gaming headphone but I did it anyway, and I suffered the consequences. The bass was nonexistent, and I daily drive Anandas. The highs were piercing, and everything just sounded compressed.

Probably the Koss x Retrospekt P/21. I only bought the thing for a KSC75 headband mod, the drivers on the P/21 suck so much ass that I immediately tore them off my head the moment they produced sound. Imagine someone tried to make a soda can a headphone driver, that’s what it sounds like. But the headband is good, so at least you can throw away the stock drivers and put on good Koss KSC75 drivers. 

Other than those, I kind of hated the T1 (Gen 1) when I had them, overpriced and just way too metallic and sharp in the treble. I feel like EQ is the only thing that can save those.

Going to my list of things I've tried, I'm actually surprised I don't hate anything with a fiery passion. Having said that, I guess there are two standouts.

1. The Amiron Home. Of all the headphones I have tried, this was the only one I returned within a day of having it. Although I love the comfy build, the sound was simultaneously piercing and hollow. I feel like I received a dud but I couldn't be bothered to get another one at the time. Maybe I'll try another one in the future as I do like all the other Beyers I've tried (including the Amiron Wireless).
2. The Denon AHD7200. I feel like my ire towards it is based on my expectations built by how people generally recommend it is as a better built TH900. Ohoho, nooo. It's a much flabbier/loose sound and the ergonomic considerations are non-existent. The material choice and hinges are better, but that doesn't matter if the thing can't fit on human heads. I might've liked it better if the idea of it being equivalent to the TH900 wasn't put in my head, but even so, I feel like you can do much better for the price (although, you can occasionally find it for half its price, so its not egregiously bad).

I don't get the HD 660 S. I prefer the HD 600. Why they made an upmodel open back easier to drive and tuned worse just boggles my mind. They should have kept it 300 ohm and gave the HD 600 more bass extension and detail. Something like an HD 600 with Focal Clear technicals. Now that would be exciting.

Ultrasone Pro 900. Supposedly a fantastic bass-heavy set of cans, but the bass actually interferes with higher frequencies and causes them the warble. Then there’s the “S-Logic” tech they employ, which requires them to be perfectly positioned over your ears in order to work. Also, recessed mids and shrill highs.

 I modded the fuck out of them and finally got them to sound pretty damn good, but for ~~$400~~ $550 (Jesus, they got *more* expensive during the past 8 years) you should just buy something else.

On the plus side, their build quality is top notch.

I will forever thank them for introducing me to this space but...

They are uncomfortable, flat (but somehow not flat at the same time) and synthetic-sounding. The paint and padding wears off quick and the detachable cable yellows and becomes too rigid over time.

MDR-7506, bought it because many recommended and it's got a nice Harman tuning. Virtually no headband padding and my ear is getting pinched by the small ear cups, It hurts pretty bad on the top of my head and my ears after 20 mins of use. It's also the most sibilant headphone I've ever heard.

Paid a premium for these and the crappy sound quality aside, the battery drain issue made them completely unusable.

Monster inspiration. The company that made the first Beats, branched and made headphones of their own, and got heavily advertised where I was from at the moment, so I thought they were good. I still have them, and I can say they are the most uncomfortable heavy aluminum headphones you could ever get. Their bass is bad, the mids are nonexistent and the highs are, well, low.
Used them for a few years though, but I finally saved for the 560s, if only Amazon hadn’t lost my package

Wanted a neutral/balanced sound, but instead got a mess of a multiple filters garbage. Don't get me wrong, they sound way better than any 2-5$ cheap shit you find in electronics shops' bins with a "sale" label on them. But I mean, when an earphone heavily depends on multiple filters to sound a certain way instead of just sounding good with one filter in the first place, it already tells a lot about inconsistency of the product itself.

Should have known better when the acclaimed 500-1000$ was being sold for 50$ on Drop.

For me it's the koss pro 4x. You can only hear the bass.

Hey, if people are whiling to spend hundreds without doing any research on a fashion accessory that produces sound where the company spent 1% of the budget on R&D (if that) and 99% on advertisement, or if they buy into snakeoil, that's on them. I don't think I *hate* any headphones or brands... I just ignore the ones I dislike. I dislike Beats and Abyss for completely different reasons.

Anything from Audio Technica, I just can't believe how people enjoy those pieces of crap, (with all due to respect to Audio Technica headphone enjoyers) I'm sure they are great but I just can't enjoy them, for me it's just too much bass

I knew that I should not have bought a gaming headphone but I did it anyway, and I suffered the consequences. The bass was nonexistent, and I daily drive Anandas. The highs were piercing, and everything just sounded compressed. It was absolutely fucking horrible, I wanted to fucking burn them but they costed too much so they just are sitting on my shelf collecting dust. A reminder to always hate gaming headphones.

As a bonus, their metal parts started rusting on me after 2 months. Never seen anything like it ever or since. Absolutely overhyped.
