Flow 8

Have run it off of a cell-charger battery pack. I sold my Behringer XR12, as the Flow has probably 85+% of the capability in a smaller package with physical faders. There is nothing else that has 4 mic pres, channel compressors, low-cut filters, parametric EQ on channels/monitor sends/Main outs, 2 FX channels, etc in a package that is smaller than a 4 mic-pre analog board.

Dual mixers - one remote controllable summed to one stationary? Good or bad idea?

Has the advantages that even if your main sound guy doesn't want to use them, you could dial in some EQ, etc, on your non-band inputs too. You also have more sends if you want to eventually add monitors in. I'd be concerned with the Flow 8 about the reach of the Bluetooth connectivity - it advertises max range of 12m, but by the time you're in the real-world it wouldn't surprise me if that got halved!.

Live Setup Advice

Get the Behringer Flow 8, if you can, shouldn't be too much more than the Mackie, but way more flexible heading into the future, although potentially low on inputs for your uses. Not as complicated as something like an XR 18, but easy enough to get around. Maybe get one of the Yamaha analogue desks with one knob compression if you want to keep it simple.

Best mixer for gigging singer-songwriter?

It lacks a compressor but ticks all the other boxes, and sounds better than most other units at this price point. The Behringer Flow 8 might be a good option for you, but those still seem like vapor-ware, and don't seem to be easily found in the US quite yet.

Portable speaker for outdoor ceremony sound

Have run 2 RCF J8, 1 QSC CP8, Behringer Flow 8 mixer on a Bluetti EB70S without issue. Biggest thing is that bass hits will draw a lot of instant power. Saw peaks on the EB70 of 140w draw (120VAC US), but bass hits can draw a lot more than that...so a 200w inverter might work just fine until the bass comes in...
