 The blue microphones always sound pretty good, but with the Yeti X Blue is taken a step further and included the Blue Voice software and within the Blue Voice App, you can change your voice quite a bit to fit whatever you are creating. Let's dive in and take a closer look. Alright, so here we are within the actual Blue Voice App you can adjust your mic gain which is the same thing you can do on the front of the microphone with this slider. Over here you can also adjust the polar patterns like the button on the back of the microphone and then to test your voice, just hit the record here

On the back of the microphone, we have the button selector for the four different polar patterns which are cardioid, Omni, bi-directional and stereo.  all of these settings can be adjusted with a little bit more control if you click on the little menu button over here with the EQ, you can get in here and change the frequency points and the width of adjustment along those and then you can boost and cut. So with those there should be quite a bit of customization you can do and play around with to really dial on a sound that you like and then over in the lighting. of course here's where you can change all the different LED colors. You can change the live color, you can change the mute color and even on the back of the microphone you can change the polar pattern to different individual colors if you would like

 Obviously we have it on Broadcaster One right now and then there's Broadcaster Two. You can click around and just hear how all these different samples sound with these different presets. Blue Yeti X Review: Legendary sound with new features for creators

This review is based on my setup, which I use to record a podcast and YouTube narration on a 2018 iMac and Garageband.  Before I got the Blue Yeti X, I recorded on a Blue Yeti Blackout edition. The Blue Yeti X uses 4 capsules over the Blackout's 3. The Yeti X clearly records a warmer and crisper voice, but I find it drops a bit of the lower range in my voice

 The Blue Voice software isn't available for Macs, only Windows. This software would have been magnificent for mixing your output. I've listened to numerous examples with Low Soft Voice and Broadcast, and people sound great. This is unfortunate and it makes me NOT recommend the microphone for Mac users

 The Blue Yeti X uses 4 capsules over the Blackout's 3. The Yeti X clearly records a warmer and crisper voice, but I find it drops a bit of the lower range in my voice. Some people have said the buttons to control gain and monitoring are cumbersome, but I didn't have that problem. I think the Blackout edition is easier to use (you just turn a couple of knobs), but the Yeti X has LED displays on the gain

 I've listened to numerous examples with Low Soft Voice and Broadcast, and people sound great. This is unfortunate and it makes me NOT recommend the microphone for Mac users. My other quibble deals with the volume. I can only use the monitoring on the Yeti X to control the volume to my headphones

Incomplete Product for Mac Users

This mic is okay, I was expecting better sound quality for the price. It has a way of dying every so often and having to be reset even in the middle of speaking. Replacing the USB cable it came with helped, I am using an Anker cable now but it still drops out every so often. This mic also seems excessive big, I am looking to put it on an adjustable arm but I am concerned about weight because it's so big and heavy

I'm going to reorder this mic. Because it's an excellent mic just that Maine didn't come as I wanted it to. But you can't go wrong with the Yeti X if you need a good mic with premium quality on a budget.

The only reason I'm giving it a 3 is . Because mine came  damaged and not what I expected.

My rating is due to the software problem with Logitech’s GHub. When I bought the Blue Yeti X a year ago, one of the big selling points was that one could download free software to make more adjustments to the mic (like noise suppression, etc.) than one could do with the buttons on the mic itself. At the time I bought the mic, I downloaded Blue Sherpa, made all sorts of adjustments using the software, and it really helped improve the sound quality transmitted (and recorded) during my voice lessons over Zoom

 Otherwise, the quality is excellent. I love it more than any mic I've had until now; I just don't get why it has that slot on the bottom for mounting so close to the USB port. Luckily I use a USB headset, so that headphone port is worthless, but it's covered up, and a more extended jack might be a pain in the butt to use with this setup.  Oh, and I got an "AC" in quotes, one of those mini swamp coolers lol I put ice water in it when I need it cooler; otherwise, it's just a fan, and it's on my desk with the boom arm

 The design threw it partially obstructed, and I had t manhandle the USB. I blame this part on the stabilizing mount advertising it works with and this terrible design flaw on Blue's end. Otherwise, the quality is excellent. I love it more than any mic I've had until now; I just don't get why it has that slot on the bottom for mounting so close to the USB port

One design flaw I noticed...

 You have several recording choices and the sound quality on all is outstanding. It is extremely heavy for it's size and very solid and well built. It is definitely not a microphone you are going to be putting in your pocket. I do wish the recording pattern choice knob was on the front, rather than on the back, but this is a minor issue

  The one very stupid design feature, and why I subtracted one star, is that the USB input is at the bottom of the microphone. If you forget and try to swivel the microphone, the plugged in USB cable will impact the back side of the yoke of the microphone. Because the microphone mount is so hefty, I have literally bent and ruined two UBS cables (where they enter the microphone socket) when I forgot about this. I am worried that one day I will damage the microphone's own USB input socket

Great microphone with one annoying design feature

 It got the job done. I was happy with the sound quality but you have to have it adjusted the same way every time because a slight variation in distance or angle can throw your audio volume levels all over the place creating a lot of work for post production. I am used to using high quality condenser mics so that may be why I found it a bit frustrating. But over all it was great for the price and the ease of use makes it well worth the price

 Again i am just being picky. If your on a budget and want a great easy to use microphone this is the one for you. If your have more money to spend I recommend getting a midi asio interface and a quality condenser mic.

 I am used to using high quality condenser mics so that may be why I found it a bit frustrating. But over all it was great for the price and the ease of use makes it well worth the price. I don't like that you have to buy the specific adapters for it to work on a boom arm or shock mount. I also am not a huge fan of how it sits at the bottom or top of the shock mount as I prefer to have my mic right in the middle of the shock absorber for looks as well as balance

Great USB mic

  You can get better sound from this microphone by using Krisp, which is another $60 a year for software that does what the Yeti is supposed to do.  Unless you need to have studio quality audio for audiobook or VO work you can go with the Samson Q2U (USB/XLR) for a fraction of the price for a Yeti X.  Best in class is Shure SM7B but that will require a sound card like Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (or Solo version).

 If you run it, audio will be delayed. It's a known issue for which neither Apple Support nor Yeti Support have a solution and neither seems to have plan to fix it. You can run the Yeti X without the software, but then it's really just an ordinary, over-priced mike that picks up a lot of room echo. I would return mine if I could
