 It means the new Mavericks might not be for everyone. I Spent a week flying both and I'm ready to answer two big questions. should you buy a Matic 2? And if so, which version should you get [Music] both versions of the Maverick to improve on the original specs in just about every area from image quality to obstacle avoidance. but the new Mavericks may be too expensive to match the explosive popularity of the Maverick Pro, which was just 999 dollars when it launched

 At the time of this review, the latest version of the DJI go for app is 4.30 The Mavic 2 currently does not support course lock, home lock, terrain follow, or waypoints though DJI says that Waypoints is coming soon. All these flight modes are available on the two-year-old Mavic Pro, so it's strange to find them missing on the new Maverick 2. DJ I may add them in a future update, but they're not available right now

 The one-inch sensor on the Mavic 2 Pro is a big deal to both literally and figuratively. A larger sensor allows you to capture more dynamic range and gives you better performance in low-light situations. The large sensor also creates shallower depth of field, which along with the variable aperture gives you more control over what's in focus and what's not. The Matic 2 Pro also shoots 20 megapixels still photos versus the Mavic 2 zooms 12 megapixels

 Now, with more dollars between the models, the Air looks like a much better buy. No, it doesn't have a zoom lens, but it gets you many of the other capabilities at a much lower price.

I'd point customers looking at the Zoom to the DJI Mavic Air. When we reviewed the $799 Air we thought that it was worth it to spend a little bit more on the Mavic Pro Platinum, which debuted at a lower price than the Mavic 2 Zoom. Now, with more dollars between the models, the Air looks like a much better buy. No, it doesn't have a zoom lens, but it gets you many of the other capabilities at a much lower price

 You should strive to keep the aircraft within your line of sight when flying, but the Mavic can fly very quickly and very far. It streams a 1080p signal back to the remote, and we experienced no dropouts or stuttering during testing.

I'm not naming the Mavic 2 Zoom our Editors' Choice, however. That goes instead to the Mavic 2 Pro&mdash;$250 pricier, but farther ahead in image and video quality. The Pro doesn't have a zoom lens, but does offer dual angles of view for video, and images with superior dynamic range and resolution thanks to a sensor that's physically larger than that of the Zoom.

 It looks like this camera is going to clear here in the grass, so it's got a pretty good high, high enough stance for some grass and a landing pad like this. I Want to take off the roller? I Got my iPad cable and that's really all we need right now. So I'm gonna put this bag on the side and then of course this is gonna be my adapter to use the iPad on the controller. Well, this thing's pretty cool

 Auto And that's just for like nighttime landing. or if you're flying at night or in low light, you can trigger those on and off. Pretty cool too. High intensity LEDs right there in the bottom

 I'll also have the link for this in the description down below the video, but it's super compact and all it is is a little adapter. You can see it here. this parts aluminum and these tabs pull out and it kind of makes this ball and then you loosen this and you stick this on the kind of joint ball here and screw it in and then you actually clamp this to where your phone would have clamped in the controller and we'll go over through that really quick with you guys. So just opening up the antennas and this is pretty cool

 Of course you probably want to use a cleaning cloth, but shirts seem to work well. As long as they're clean, you might hear some wind I'm getting some wind from this direction at about five mile per hour right now. Variable and what? I like to do - on these guys is just clear the sensors like I'm gonna wipe all the sensors with my shirt if I see any fingerprints on the sensors just because we're gonna be doing some active tracking sensor testing - and I want to make sure they're all gonna work. So I'm going to clear them and these are all sorry guys, these are actually LEDs I think I mentioned these might be other sensors in my unboxing, but they're actually LEDs and I have my controller set so you can turn those on and off for landing or if it's low light, they should automatically come on setting this guy down

 The NFZ is increasing tens of times larger than old one. I checked the new NFZ definition, the drone is allowed to fly < 400 feet at the boundry of NFZ under new more restricted rules.  You're gonna have to just keep those with Thematic one or Thematic one Pro platinum. They're not going to work with Thematic two, but even though this battery is a little bit heavier, even though the whole aircraft is heavier, the Matic 2 Pro or Zoom they both weigh in a little over 900 grams and the Mavic 1 Pro is about seven hundred and thirty grams, so significantly heavier. heavier battery. But you're getting more flight time, so it's nice we're seeing some improved efficiencies

 So what's nice with the Mavic to control or and again you would see this with Thematic Air and the Matic Pro Platinum upgraded controller is you're getting these joysticks right in there and you just pop it out and screw it on. Admittedly, it took me a long time to figure out where these were, but yeah, they're just hidden right down here and it's really great for for travel. Makes things a little bit more compact so with the little things right, Nice, nice little improvement. The controllers are more or less very similar otherwise to get a nice kind of sleek dark grayish color there other than black, but just wanted to point out the joysticks
