 But if you are someone looking to transition from a thicker polymer paddle and want something that is unbelievably soft with lots of control and great spin while also being one of the most durable paddles on the market, then the CX-14 paddles are definitely something I would recommend checking out. I would just say that if you're coming from other paddles, be prepared for a transition period and make sure that you get to playtest these paddles for a while. You may not enjoy them a ton on your first day, but I think as you warm up to them, you'll start to like them more. So overall, I think Gearbox did a great job and it'll be exciting to see this paddle in their lineup because it just branches their portfolio of paddles out more and gives more people an opportunity to try something new that's different from all of the polymer paddles on the market

 If you haven't already checked it out, I made a video where I compared 29 different paddles to see which one got the most spin.0, like in a mid-weight, and tonight I tried the Gearbox CX-14, and honestly, everything that the Engage Encore does well. This does just as well, but it feels lighter. It's got a lot more pop at the net, and I've tried some Gearbox paddles in the past, and my main complaint was there wasn't a very big sweet spot, but this one didn't seem to have that problem at all

 So if you're someone going through paddles regularly and you're tired of it, Gearbox is the first place I would look for a durable paddle. Another thing that makes the build quality of these unique is that the weight is incredibly accurate. If you've bought polymer paddles in the past, you know that when they say a weight, it's generally a range and it isn't going to be an exact weight. And it is super durable. I play singles with it as well but I’m thinking of trying the CX11s again to see if one of those will give me more power without sacrificing too much control. Overall the CX14H has my vote.

I got the opportunity to demo a CX11 power 8.5q the other day. Now I'm more of a control player, so this wasn't exactly what I was hoping to try, but it was an intro to gearbox paddles. Immediately noticed more spin on my serves, and block shots were landing really short even with it being a power model. One drawback tho, I did end up sailing a good amount of balls wide that day, but I was expecting that honestly. 

Before this, I was basically dead set on getting the elongated CX14, since I'm coming from a Invikta Vanguard 2.0. But after checking the specs, the paddle width of the 11 I tried is the same as the Hyper shape, which felt really good to me. Ideally I'd like to try them both, but the guy said he has 4 demos, and they are out almost all of the time (they did have 3 CX14H, and 1 CX14E). 

I'm pretty keen on going ahead and getting one Monday, hopefully they still have both. But honestly I can't decide, are there any pros/cons with either, or is it just personal preference? (Mainly play Doubles, but I would like to play Singles too in the future)

 However, I don't have as good of a feel for the ball around the net and off center hits are not as forgiving. Maybe this would be a good choice for a 4.0 player. I'm a 3

Not Impressed.

 It's the brand new CX14 from Gearbox. Gearbox has always had really nice paddles, but they've always had really kind of crisp paddles that really shot the ball out and were more power-oriented maybe, even though you could dink with them and all that, there was a lot of power involved, and especially like the latest GX6s, very powerful paddle. I honestly had a hard time dinking with those just because they had so much pop. So Gearbox has come out with the new CX14s

 Another caveat there is that this paddle does run $200 US. Paddles are becoming more expensive, but there's a lot of technology that they put into these. Gearbox is kind of a cool company. Guys, thanks for stopping by

 If I got to the court and this was the paddle, if I misplaced there, because I'm changing out paddles, if I'm trying out paddles, and this paddle was in my bag, I would not feel uncomfortable at all playing with this one. I like this one a little bit more than the 16 and a half inch version, just because I'm used to hitting this more traditional style paddle, just a hair over 16 inches. It's the length and style that I use currently, so it was an easier transition. Really like this paddle a lot

 The GX11s and even the new CX11s are 11mm wide, the CX14 is going to be 14mm wide. It still has the SSD core of the GX6, which means it has ribs of graphite that run the length of the paddle. It's rolled graphite, so there's two sides to it. So this graphite varies in angles as it goes through the graphite

The CX14H had the control and feel that I personally preferred. The Hyperion felt too heavy at the net.

I keep going back and forth on what paddle to get next. Wondering what people on here use and how you like it? It’s really hard for me to pull the trigger when they cost $150-$200!
