Because the hardware was already in the laptop, they had the option there to scan my computer and automatically download the drivers and install those...

The ax210 is supported and wifi6e works at work where we have 6e for testing (it connects to the 6GHz ssid and gets up to the max 2400Mbps).

At home, at "only" wifi6 160MHz I get easily 2400Mbps on 5GHz.

Couldn't connect antenna lead to the connector. Looks used. Returning. Very disappointed as I will now have to open my laptop again to reinstall card.

Any intel ax pcie card works out of the box in upstream Linux kernel. I have no trouble to use ax210 in Fedora.

Works perfectly - and VERY fast - in my MSI GP73 Leopard-8RF. This motherboard "supposedly" uses a CNVIO slot - but appears to have the full wiring needed for this card. Wireless works, bluetooth works. Connected 160mhz (doesn't get better) at about 30 feet - great signal strength. A perfect replace...

Look on eBay, Intel cards are plentiful and cheap. I decided on an AX210 to do the same type of upgrade.

Put in an SSD from an old hard drive, max out the memory and put in a AX210 Wifi 6e card (of course you need a Wifi 5 to 6 router to support faster speeds and good internet connection). But it will breath new life into an old computer or laptop.

Wifi connects over PCI and BT over USB, on modern laptops the slot usually carries both signals. I never understood why the card could not have a PCI-USB bridge :)

Get two AX210 with adapters, run BT on one and Wifi on the other.. :)

I can confirm bluetooth works fine (tested with airpods) and my wifi 5 throughput is around 700Mbps. My AP is capable of 1.1Gbps with the older AX200 on a different machine, so I don't know if it's a bottleneck on the X230 or if the AX210 card doesn't perform as well in my setup (could be drivers too, it's very new). Still a monumental upgrade from the ancient tech originally in the machine, especially for twenty or thirty bucks, highly recommended!.

They are easy to solve.

For the first problem buy an intel ax210 wifi card and replace it with what you have.

For the second one buy a good ssd ( Samsung or wd, my suggestion is wd sn750 )
