I have a Archer AX50 router linked to Virgin Media Hub 3 in modem mode, and recently noticed drops on 5Ghz only, 2.4Ghz being fine. I have updated to the latest firmware from the website rather than under router admin panel which was successful, and still get the whole 'connected without internet' error on 5Ghz.

ASUS has such a thing as AIProtection which uses TrendMicro. Even my TP-Link Router (Archer AX50 Intel-Lantiq WiFi6 chipset) phones home to TrendMicro. If this particular router phones home to an Antivirus endpoint like Avira, we are all going to have to check our routers regardless of the brand if they have built security additions like this.

Our connection scores an A/A+ for quality but the Bufferbloat is routinely a D. If every other device is off, the score is a B or a C. If I fiddle with the limited QOS on the router, I am able to get the bloat score to an A but our connection goes from a steady 350/18+ to 20/10.
