 It's definitely keeping up with me and writes well I don't There's not a lot of line variation, it's just a, you know, regular rounded nib. so it's not like an italic or anything like that that should throw you off. But yeah, overall I like it I Must say I'm very pleased with how this pen writes. Overall very good design

 So just seeing the pen in a box, it's kind of cool how it folds up like that, you know? I Don't know if the boxes would be worth keeping for you, but it's not the worst of pen boxes I've seen out there. but anyway, we don't really care that much about the box. Here is the pen. Now this pen is really kind of a neat design

 we are checking out the La Me Mm fountain pen. This comes in a box at all. The higher-end Lommy is the CP one studio come in the accent this is black kind of. I Want to say it feels kind of like a craft paper covered cardboard type thing

LAMY 2000 Fountain Pen First Impression

Found this pen My father bought me in 8th grade during Diwali cleaning. Inked it up and realized why i used to love this pen so much. Its now 9 years old and about to hit a decade.

Given the great reviews I had high expectations but I don't want to keep on twisting my arm to keep on writing with this pen. I am glad it works for other people, but it's not for me. The problem lies with the grip (sometimes called "section"). My first impression was annoying metal protrusions that help secure the cap in place

I find myself searching for a spot where they are not felt. This is briefly mentioned by Brian Goulet on a video review of the pen, where he says these protrusions "may bother some people

Form ever follows function? Not in this case.

 This is really quite a unique design and it turns out one that I like a whole lot which I was kind of surprised about I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I do. So let's talk our way through it here. It's got a shiny finial, a polished finial there. The body of the pen is made out of material called macro lon and I don't know enough about the manufacturer of Macro Lawn to be terribly helpful, but I should mention that it is

 So overall, and I like this pen a lot. So much so as I mentioned that I bought it, it's smooth, it's it. writes really well. it's got a good ink capacity

 Alright, so this is the pen in question. This out of the way now. the lobby Mm has been around for decades I believe it first came out in the 60s and it has that kind of Bauhaus mid-century modern design thing going on. The design of this pen is so iconic, in fact that it has a permanent location in the Music Metro pot

 or was Zima Modern Art in New York City It's really quite a clean lined, attractive pen that turns out is also very functional and at the same time still quite unique. So it's very different than the standard cigar shaped pens you see all over the place. This is really quite a unique design and it turns out one that I like a whole lot which I was kind of surprised about I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I do. So let's talk our way through it here

Lamy 2000 is just as effective. Smooth nib? They both have it. I found out after using both pens that the Visconti is far too heavy for me.

Of course I don’t mean to attack anyone and their passion, I just want to hear some fresh opinions that aren’t heard all that often. I’ll lead the way with three lesser ones:

1. There’s a time and a place for fountain pens. I love all of my pens to death and using them always brightens my day, but for work purposes, most of the shitty paper I’m given can’t even handle anything bigger than an F nib with average ink. Just as much thought and passion went into ballpoint pens and in my opinion, they’re much better all-rounders, so purposefully trashing ballpoints makes this sub looks quite pretentious and elitist.

2. Kaweco makes _the_ ugliest fountain pens I have ever seen in my life, especially the sport. Oh god.

3. Where’s the fun in collecting TWSBI, Lamy, Kaweco or other pens just to have them in different colors? You could explore so many new brands, mechanisms or models with that money.

Again, no hate towards anyone, I just find it fun to hear from some of the people who might not see much representation in the sub.

This is just meant to be a fun discussion. No hate if you disagree. Mine are: 

1. Tomoe River paper is not THAT great. It's flimsy and tears easily, makes ink take an unreasonably long time to dry, and exaggerates shading and sheen to such a degree that it makes some inks difficult to read or illegible. 

2. "High" capacity pens like vac &amp; piston fillers aren't really that much better than cartridge/converter pens because many don't really hold that much more ink AND they're much more difficult to refill and clean. (BTW, I own and love piston &amp; vac fillers, but I just don't think they're superior to my cartridge/converters.)

And, to really ruffle some feathers, 

3. Sailor converters are my favorite converters. They don't have any agitator balls that seem to cause more inkflow issues than they help (Pilot) or that narrowing/plastic piece at the top that traps ink when you're trying to clean it out (LAMY/standard international), and although they are small, refill quickly and easily.
