Lamy LX

They didn’t sell well here for a number of reasons; one of which is that an LX570, despite having a much higher MSRP, leased for literally $2-300 *less* per month than a LC. And the LX is a higher margin vehicle. Factor in federalizing costs, parts inventory, training, etc etc... the business case wasn’t there.

We looked at an LX, the last model that is, and other than potential quality there is absolutely zero reason to choose one over a Range Rover. Plus, Rover quality is better than many would like to think.

I LOVED IT. It glides so smooth and the ink flows so well, lasts forever too. Also loved the line variation and ink contrast when drawing. I filled half a notebook with writing and drawing before I decided to treat myself to a Lamy al-star and a Lamy Lx thinking it must be that much smoother and amazing.

You’ll love the space when you’re down at school, and it doesn’t sound like you’re doing enough driving that it’ll become a major burden. And honestly, if it is, then consider keeping it and picking up an econobox or Miata for some of the more routine driving, and keeping the LX for pleasure driving. I have a feeling you’d regret selling the LX.

(I am not much of a fan of the 100 series lx split headlights compared to the 100 series land cruiser.) Pretty good although the back end does seem to borrow heavily from the new nx. I am glad private school pick up lines are going to get some nice suvs this time around.
