More thoroughly than I'd ever done before. Eventually I landed on three options, the Skydio, Parrot Anafi and Autel Evo 2 8K. I ended up going with the 6K Evo 2 pro, because of the larger sensor. The flight time, 6K camera etc were the main selling points for me.

Overall, Parrot has made the best competitor to a mainstream DJI drone in years. But just showing up isn’t enough, to really matter, the Anafi had to be better than the DJI Mavic Air, and unfortunately, it’s far from that. This drone is close to being good, but I had too many issues that outweigh its potential

Its video quality is getting a little dated but it was about as good as the original Mavic Air when it was released, and I chose the Anafi for its longer flight time and much quieter rotor noise. It's still about the quietest 4k camera drone around, barring the V-Copters. At this point it's difficult to recommend them anymore over something like a Mavic Mini 2, though the Anafi does boast proper optical lock-on/tracking, has no no-flight zone lockouts in its software, and can do that cool upwards-looking 360 stuff that traditional drones can't. I wish Parrot was still making consumer drones but they're totally focused on professional drones for photomapping and search-and-rescue now.

I've been playing around with planning drone missions on my computer and then tasking those missions to my coworkers. Dronelink and DroneDeploy can do this but I've found Dronelink can be buggy and DroneDeploy doesn't work with lower-end drones like the Mavic Mini or Parrot Anafi.
