RUCKUS Unleashed Remote Management Using Unleashed Mobile App

Hi, I am currently in the process of building out a new office space for my business. The office is in a large office building and my space is about 2000 sqft. We will have about 10 people working in the office at first, approximately 20 devices total (wired and wireless) connected to the network. We will be getting a 1Gbps connection from the ISP.

I am looking to build out a network that is robust and reliable, with enough room to handle more people (and more devices) in the future as well as much higher speeds as faster packages become available from the ISP. 

We will only have a handful of wired devices, most will be wireless so strong, stable and fast WiFi is a priority. There are also plenty of walls (Glass and wood) throughout the office that can potentially affect the WiFi. 

My current understanding is that the modem from the ISP will connect to a central switch (16 port), that will branch out the connection to all the Ethernet cabling around the office.  I will use a couple of these Ethernet cables to connect to 2 APs to have WiFi throughout the space. From here, I am lost, I don't know if I should go for a Mesh system with wired backhaul or APs instead. I have good experience using a mesh system at home where a wired backhaul wasn't possible, my mesh system has a dedicated network for wireless backhaul, the speeds are great and it works seamlessly throughout the house. 

I don't know if setting up APs will be better in the office as there are more users and the network speed is higher as well. But I am concerned about long term maintenance of the APs as we don't have any dedicated IT personnel and if the connection will be smooth and seamless as a device moves away from one AP and closer to another AP.

I am not extremely budget constrained, but I would like to keep the costs low if possible. I will appreciate any advice and guidance. Maybe even links to your recommended products that fit my requirements.

Okay, so let me explain.  I am moving to a new house soon and want to overhaul my network.  Here's the situation.  

The house I'm moving to is about 4300 sq ft.  My current house is only 3000 sq ft.  So obviously, I'm going to need more wireless access points to cover it so I figured why not upgrade the network while I'm at it.  Here's what I would like:   

I would like multiple access points connected to one router that would make a roaming network.  But here's the thing.  I would also like a guest network coming out of those access points as well for guests.

But here's the big issue.   I currently have frontier fios internet and tv, and the place I'm moving to has it as well.  Apparently, you have to use the frontier router for all of the fios tv stuff to work.  In fact, this is why my network now is currently clunky.  So would there be a way besides Double NAT to get my own router there and still have the fios tv working?

Basically, I need recommendations on equipment for a router that can run multiple access points, do a guest network with bandwidth limits and maybe even a captive portal just for fun, and the best WiFi 6 access points.

Moving to a new house soon and want to overhaul network.

  Compared to other products, I'd say Ruckus' strength lies in their actual radio tech and the client connectivity experience (BeamFlex+, ChannelFly, etc.), as opposed to having slick software (ie. UniFi) or a more polished vertical hardware stack (HPE Aruba, Meraki). So putting aside fancier dashboards and cloud control panels, Ruckus is tough to beat when it comes to providing the best physical connection possible in *most* scenarios

Best in class for high-interference/high-density, plus 802.11r/k/v that actually works.

Wi-Fi Access Points | Need help finding the right one. (Multi SSID, VLANs)

 I'm pretty sure their tech support just enjoys stringing people along for as long as possible for their own amusement. If WiFi calling from your cell phone through your access point is an import feature, do not buy these!  UPDATE: I'm now up to 20 messages back and forth, and finally got contacted by an engineer. He verified these units do not support WiFi Calling. He said WiFi Calling is supposed to be enabled on the next firmware version, 200

I’m completing a major home renovation and am looking to upgrade out of the consumer grade home network . I have no IT background and have only recently begun self-educating myself on computer networking. In saying that I think I understand the basic concepts and role of most of the required hardware. I am comfortable using Linux, the command line etc. I am keen to continue learning, so I am happy to look at setups that are not simply ‘plug and play’. I am also looking to do something useful with the old desktop server I have listed below. A relative upgraded their small business and had no further need for it. I have seen something called ‘proxmox’ thrown around in other forums, haven’t got around to reading into just yet.  

I was intending on using Ubiquiti for this setup. There is a lot of positive promotion and advertising pushing the Ubiquity ecosystem. But as I searched for alternatives/competing brands I found many complaints that Ubiquity is ‘buggy’. There are also complaints about the lack of documentation and customer support. But I feel customer support is probably unlikely to be any good unless you pay and or have some sort of business enterprise agreement…could be wrong though. 

I am seeking some advice and insight on what options I have or whether to continue with Ubiquiti. My feeling is that Ubiquiti fits my use case and integrating the CCTV in the same ecosystem will work more seamlessly. In saying that, I am happy to consider alternatives. Some brands I have seen mentioned include Aruba instant , MikroTik, Meraki Go and Fortinet. However, there was a lot of discussion around some form of licencing issues and use of other software such as PFSense, which I have not yet got my head around. 

**Current situation:** Major renovation at the rear of the house – Good opportunity to start the Home networking/Lab rabbit hole

**Budget:** 2.5-3k Australian dollars 

**Home:** x4 bedrooms and two living areas (218sqm – Approx 6m wide x36m long), second level at the rear (Two bedrooms), double brick, timber floor for second level (Not a slab) – 

**Proposed Ethernet:** x2 per room (x1 TV x1 other) &amp; x1 per living area (TV) (Total: 10)

**Location of gear:** Under staircase (Rear living area)

**Internet:** 50mbs via a coaxial cable (Could upgrade plan to 100mbs)

**Ethernet question:** What level of cabling? 5e, 6, 7? (There will be a fair bit length required – So probably a mix depending on required speed to keep costs down?)

**Use:** Vlan (Separate iot devices and guest access), monitor traffic (kids), monitor for IT security, 2-4 CCTV (IP) (Local storage is ok – May look at cloud back up – not remote viewing), plex media (NAS), General TV streaming/light gaming, back up of photos and videos – Hobby photography (light to moderate – lightroom, photoshop and Video editing – stored on NAS then sync to cloud for backup.
